    DO NOT DO THIS to your Prius IF you plan on keeping the car!!! Bought ours brand new in 2013 and it has 250K miles, but recently developed the Bad Head Gasket “shakes” issue. Thankfully found Gasket Masters videos BEFORE seeing this guys so-called “fix”. Am in process of doing GM’s excellent REAL fix. Correcting the issues is an involved project but not overly expensive DIY, unless you have other problems like a bad water pump. Also fixed/cleaned my EGR/coolant loop and throttle body/intake manifold, which were nearly blocked with carbon/soot. All in, I will spend about 3 days & $300 to have a vehicle that should last ANOTHER 250K miles. BTW in many cities GM can do the real fix in half a day for allot less than $2000. They also have videos that show what you do to an engine when you use this guys liquid “used car salesman trick”.

      your car will not last 250k more miles

    • @NoGasWelcomeAboard
      @NoGasWelcomeAboard 19 дней назад

      Maybe Scott. However with my “real fix”, the car now runs buttery smooth with better than brand new car mpg numbers. Not sure I’d spend this much in an unknown Prius. However, we have driven this one every day (great for a battery) over its long life in a super dry Arizona climate. So with this work I’d say it has a good chance of making it to 1/2 a million miles. Besides the 2 gal of Purple Power cleaning and head gasket kit, my total OTD cost was more because I did it right. The final bill included a professional machine shop $400 rebuild of the head, then all new head bolts, fuel injectors, ignition coils, NGK plugs, thermostat/housing, water pump and filters/fluids (all generic parts were purchased via Amazon at a huge discount to OEM costs). These totaled a little less than $600. Once the parts were accumulated, the machine shop took a week & my DIY work took another. The car now runs so well, we put on new Hankook tires from Discount Tire and the wife loves her “new” Prius! BTW anyone contemplating this video’s “quick liquid fix” should watch that GM video showing what the sealant stuff does to the inside of an engine. Great for a used car lot mechanic. However for a car one intends on keeping, no thanks!

    I see the + wire going from red terminal through firewall and back to the trunk. But, in the trunk, there are 2 wires. Where does the negative wire come from?

    • @helpyourfellowhuman
      @helpyourfellowhuman 2 месяца назад

      Negative wire goes to any part of the chassis. It can be a bolt or or you can grind the paint off and drill a hole for a screw somewhere in the back. I don't have the car anymore and I can't remember where I put the ground wire but that's what I always did when I would install amplifiers.

    so you removed the engine waterpump's thermostat as a safety precaution against it being damaged by the thermagasket mixture. it take a little cry and some tight spot moments to remove that thermostat that but a good idea if you dont want to damage sensitive parts.

    hello I just got the same cooler a couple days ago. I have a smaller yeti cooler. some things I found out after I got it out of the box. supposedly with the marketing materials they said that the drain plug is recessed Well it is slightly recessed but the cap itself sticks way out unlike the yeti which is recessed completely so if you wedge it in somewhere it won't break off or have any other issues. The vacuum release is a nice feature there isn't any gasket on it which is surprising for a cooler that's this expensive. I like the handles but one thing I noticed on mine I saw you operate yours and anyway the rubber latches are about two and a half times stiffer than the yeti. I hung some iron weights with a strap comparing the two because it seemed like it was difficult to open the frosted frog even though I'm not disabled or anything. The yeti rubber latches take 10 lb of downforce to operate. The frosted frog takes about 20 to 25 lb of downforce to operate. It seems like you have to sort of grunt and really put some effort into operating the rubber latches compared to competitive coolers. So I'm not really sure I'm going to keep it It otherwise looks like it would hold ice really well I like the color and it is only the latches and the protruding drain plug that for me are the major issues.btw, The current price as you probably know is quite a bit higher than what you paid! I bought this supposedly on sale at about $300.

    • @helpyourfellowhuman
      @helpyourfellowhuman 2 года назад

      Hello. I didn't have anything to compare it too so I didn't know about the drain and the latches. Also, it sucks that prices have gone up. Sign of the times. Best wishes!

    People DO NOT fill your radiator with stop leak garbage. It may seal the head gasket temporarily but it will also plug the fine ports in the engine , radiator and heater core. This will cost you so much more money later when you have to replace all the other parts it plugs up. I only would use that garbage if I was stranded in a area I had no way of getting home. Also his lower radiator hose clamp isn't fully on the thermostat, that will be a issue for sure.

    If you’re in a pinch the head gasket sealer will work for awhile but it will ultimately still fail. The sealer then clogs the passageways and radiator as well. Best to just replace head gasket. Otherwise your just prolonging the problem. I’ve replaced 4 of these head gaskets, it’s fairly easy. Gasket masters have some great videos on how to do it.

    • @jermichaelkirkland2446
      @jermichaelkirkland2446 Год назад

      As soon as the coolant leak stops, drain all the coolant out that might contain the gasket sealer. Sometimes the heater core has to be flushed too. Clean the intake, egr pipe/cooler. Also if the coolant tank plastic looks yellow, replace it too. It should be white like the inverter coolant reservoir.

    • @julian-H47

      False. Wont clog radiator passages bc it only crystallizes hardens when it meets hot exhaust gasses

I told the guy that sold it to me ,that anything you do wrong to others will come back to you sooner or later I told him you should had told me the truth dude. I know I'm stuck with it now. God sees everything nothing scape His eyes ...and like I've said cheap fix and sell it to someone else won't work for me, I Can't see anyone going through same thing I'm going through.
