Fanny, need some extra space for my makeup and a thin notebook. and I like being able to wear it 4 locations if I include placing it behind me. The ideal would be something expandable and maybe modular so I could throw it in my larger backpack as needed.

I just returned mine a few days ago. Because it's padded (but softer than the aviator), it didn't fit the same items that I carry in my Fjallraven High Coast hip pack (1.5L as well). It's cute, and I prefer the buckle placement on the left hip. The biggest con, however, is the liner that they used on the supposedly phone section. It's soft, but when the sling is full, that liner is very friction-y! It does not allow for smooth in and out of the bag! It's probably the worst liner material my phone has ever had to experience, lol. It's got a hold on it that was unpleasant to use. So sadly, not for me. I'm loving their 2L aviator sling tho! It's almost perfect!

I am 5.6 ft tall (170 cm). I really like the Nomatic Travel Backpack, but I am not sure about the 20 or 14 liter version. I doubt the 20 liter would be too bulky and unstylish for me. I will use it as an everyday backpack. I need a sleek and corporate look, to carry a PC and documents like a lawyer without needing a briefcase which I don't like. I might be traveling for 2 or 3 days. I don't want to lose a lot of functionality and organizational ability because that's what makes it a Nomatic. What size of backpack do you recommend? I really apreciatte your advice

as a long time Osprey user, I would like to focus on weight. Osprey Fairview 40L is only 1.5kg, and other alternatives are 500gram ( a pound) heavier. In a hot summer day, 500g make a big difference

Nice review. Bellroy Transit Workpack has so much more capacity than the Alpaka Metro Backpack (20L vs 12L) at almost the same weight.

lol sternum straps that you can just slide up and down are just better for women, I find. I tend to wear mine high but it isn’t always the same if my clothes are different

For myself, I wouldn't put my glasses at the bottom of any bag, especially without a hard case. That's the "crush zone", where the weight of all of the items are bearing down on fragile glasses. One of the nice features of the Bellroy slings is the glasses pocket that's suspended near the top of the bag.

This bag is garbage. I bought it for my 3 month backpacking tour across Europe. It only made it 1 week. By the time I made it to Barcelona it had busted buckles and stitching was coming apart. I threw it in the trash and bought a Deuter Futura Pro 40l. I still have my Deuter years later. I will never buy anything from Osprey again.

I wish I loved my Bellroy Lite 38. It packed well, fit in heaps. And you can't beat the weight (Aus domestic 7kg weight limit; I used this as sole backpack international and domestic)!!! I do wish it had a water bottle holder; and just a tiny little bit of organisation in the front (I know, it adds weight). I also did find it became really uncomfortable once I started my journey. I can't quite put my finger on why; but I just didn't click with it. Shame, because I'd saved up for it, and really hoped I'd love it. Anyway, thanks for your reviews. Love that there is a girly slant to travel options. 😊

I got this backpack in slate blue from their Indiegogo campaign 6 years ago. I still use it as my EDC for work lugging my thick laptop around, even though it's a bit too small for me and I don't particularly love it. It's held up quite well: only the mesh over the back padding has started to tear a little at the bottom and one of the pull tabs is coming apart. Cons: - the magnetic flap! It's very annoying to close, especially when the pack is full (I sometimes only zip it and leave the magnets open). Opening the pack is also difficult, since the zipper is underneath the flap, which also blocks access to the sunglasses zip pocket - access to the main compartment: I only really use the top opening, since from the back clamshell the access is restricted by the internal zip pocket - it's quite heavy for the volume you get (feels like less than 20L) Pros: + love the quick access pocket (though it gets tight when the backpack is full and stuff gets lost in the internal pockets), + separate shoe compartment: definitely useful for wet/dirty/stinky stuff + the look of it gets some compliments XD I would only recommend this if you don't carry a lot of (bulky) stuff and love tons of little features.

What you missed from Aaron’s guest appearance is that there is a small pocket in that structure section and also it can be a nice section too for papers. Very useful hidden area.

You missed some unique features of this pack: 1) the key leash is removeable and can be attached to various nylon ladders in the other external pockets in the bag 2) in the frame sheet compartment, there is a secret pocket (for cash, tracker). What no YT reviewer has mentioned - this pack has enough attachment points on both top and bottom locations that you could use a bungie cord to hold bulky items like a helmet or big jacket if needed. Yeah, I've watched a bunch of videos on this pack as it's one of my top choices if I decided to get another travel pack.

This bag looks amazing, but i see it more pretty than functional. Why the black interior? Not a side access for the laptop, roll tops are the best design for weather resistance so making one in which that’s not good feels meh, and you can only roll it a bit 😂 Besides, I am not a fan of the zipper in the middle

Easy to access the main compartment if you don’t want to put it down on the ground while walking with it?

Curious if you *could* fit a laptop behind the back panel where the shoulder straps stow. I know you probably *should* not, but curious if it physically fits with our without a sleeve.

I love the bag and its feature set/flexibilty. That said, I would also prefer to downsize but as a dad leading little backpackers-in-training that likely ain't happening soon. Need to be north of 5' 7" for the best fit. Black for sure if you want that bullet proof-ness > ascetics.
