Thank you. Traveling with the S1H is pretty cumbersome, thats why I switched to the S5iix for personal stuff. For commercial work the S1H is still the main camera as I prefer the footage coming from it.

Both are quite soft wide open, the Summilux a little more. They both look quite the same to me. Both have quite bad CA (real bad), but if you dont shoot contrasty scenes, the bokeh is very smooth. If you want the best image quality, get the Apo Macro 100 instead. Its also a short tele which is more a versatile lens cause of the better close focus and better corrected with less CA. But if I have to choose between the 80 and the 90, it would be the 90mm. I use the 90 Cron more often than the 80mm cause of the weight difference. The 80 is huge and heavy and mine also has quite stiff focus. The 80mm is to me more of a specialty lens for lowlight shooting.

Thank you. As I have both, I much prefer the image of the S1H. It just feels right, and the colors are slightly better out of camera. It also has a nice smoothness to it. On the other hand the image on the S5iix has much more contrast and feels a lot more digital to me. But as the S1H is a big heavy beast, I prefer to take the S5iix for trips and travel stuff. The slight differences in the image are negligible. If I could only keep one camera, it would be the S1H, specs basically the same, with worse auto focus but better image. As I mostly use fully manual lenses, the autofocus isn't a deal-breaker for me. Just my two cents on the topic (:

Thanks man! I did one shoot with it and came to the same conclusion. The prores raw from the s1h is still the nicest image imho. I am testing BRAW now with a video assist. Have tried the raw from the s5iix? I still hope that comes close to the s1h’s quality. If it does, I am buying one too.

Noprob of course. I’ll test it myself and let you know. If you want to be even more impressed by the s1h: the prores raw via ninja v is jaw dropping organic.

Thank you for the comment! Everything was shot handheld. I used a variable ND filter to keep my shutter angle at 180°. The contax lens was used wide open, so f1.4. It's pretty hard to focus correctly, I'm just eye balling it and trying to keep everything in focus, most of the shots I film are still unusable. My friends are always joking, that my videos are always out of focus, but it's fun for me, so I'll keep doing it. To you, best of luck and have fun shooting :)

Thank you. You are correct, it is the V1. Same as you, I noticed some bad CA on the V1. But it still is a nice lens, you just have to use it carefully not to shoot high contrasty stuff.

I think it was very usable, not the sharpest lens. This video was shot wide open. Try the 24mm, should perform better, but doesn't quite match up with the other Leica R lenses.

Thanks man. the seller has agreed to do a calibration first, hopefully that does the trick. I have seen footage of the 24, clearly a different type of lens. @@koiak_ch

I prefer the 35mm cause of the wider field of view. Image quality wise the two lenses are more or less the same
