SCX24 Gladiator's vs Cliffhanger.
Просмотров 4885 месяцев назад
A group of fallen trees pulled up a huge root ball and we have been climbing on it ever since. it's a 10-foot drop from the top. the incline is anywhere between 30 and 60deg. the center line is nonexistent. the grip level changes with the weather. a slip to one side or the other can be a disaster. a drop from the top is guaranteed damage. we call it Cliffhanger.

Traxxas Drag slash. on snow, on frozen pond, on paddle tires. while they last. for some reason these two won't run very long like this, in the snow and ice. I don't know why. they run around the yard with no problem but can barely make it across the pond once.

XRT vs Xmaxx Hi folks, what a fun race, it was a good measure of the two trucks. i think TReX the XRT is faster but was surprised D.Trump the Xmaxx killed it in the figure 8. i believe if we swapped tires, it would have been a different race. we hope you enjoyed the ride!

@MM-dz2ze thank you brother and thanks for subscribing. Glad you like the videos.
@@usssoupership Anytime, I am a 60 year old good old boy from NJ. I am as into it as you are. Makes my daughter and happy to see others enjoying it as much as we do. 😂
@MM-dz2ze that is cool brother. You're never to old to enjoy some RCs. And at this age can really appreciate it. They bring a smile to my face that's for sure.
😅 omg😂
I know right! I never thought it would be that easy.
Damn y’all have really been workin on home creek course👀
Sorry for delay. W3 went camping. But yes we have been doing some improvements. To dang hot to shoot and more videos yet. But I got a cool one coming this week. Thanks for the visit and commenting.
I love how the engine sound matches up with how much gas you give it!
Hi tevoh. There are dozens of different sounds to choose from. Even turbo and waist gates. It could be overkill, but I like it to. Make me smile when it's on the rev limiter. Thanks for the comment brother. I have a video coming next week. Have a good weekend my friend.
What wheels and tires did you use. Like what size?
Hi, and thank you for the visit. I'm running the little guys racing products, 64mm swamp kings on mofo rc wheels. If you end up with this combo, you will also need the flub rc 3D printed inserts to make the tire stay centered on the wheels.
@@usssoupership ok thanks man. I tried the 64mm but they where way to big soon couldn’t turn anymore without rubbing against the bumper or the chassis.
@rcmountaingoat I have a video for that problem. It's called, trimming and shimming. Still a tiny bit of rub but no problem at all.ruclips.net/video/YWiNGk6ApPA/видео.htmlsi=iiwa5U7UrBrwiDO5
@@usssoupership Great. Thanks. Much appreciated 👍🏼
I like the trailer mod. Can you show how did it
Hi. We picked up the trailer lift kit from flub rc. They have the accessory kits also. The wheels are traxxas bead locks and traxxas baja proX. I will try and get some video of the trailers but not sure how soon. Thank you for the visit. I hope this helps for now.flubrc.com/
This is a really nice trail, excellent footage and you have nice trucks! I need to find a good trail around here, I have trx4m Defender, a Jurassic Park themed scx24 gladiator that I painted and upgraded the rest about as much as I can go, and a couple other small crawler/trail RCs. And I just have a small crawl course in the backyard so far. This is really nice though, gives a bit of inspiration to go out and find some trails to run.
Hi Taylor. Thanks for subbing brother. You have my two favorite mini crawlers. The Defender and Gladiator. And when it comes to trails, everything is an obstacle for these little guys. If you were in Kentucky, you're more than welcome to trail along with us. I'm working on trails and tracks damn near every day. And always looking for more.
@@usssoupership Absolutely, and thanks for the videos! The Defender and the Gladiator are my favorites as well, so far. I have the Bronco and the AX24 4WS with some moderate upgrades and tinkering... they sure are a lot of fun to customize, so many different rigs out there. And I appreciate that, man! And Kentucky sure is a beautiful state. And I'll say the work definitely shows!
Where do you mount your camera or how do your hold your camera and drive at the same time?
Hi. Thank you for the visit and question. You might laugh, but I'm using a gopro on a stick. It is approximately 3 foot long. With a velcro strap wrapped around the stick to the bottom of my controller. The gopro attached to the base of the stick low to the ground. I used to use a selfie stick, but it broke. So this is where I'm at.
@@usssoupership I like the angles you get so I might have to try it. Thank you for sharing.
What for kind wheels are that, bc I am looking for a new set of tires for crawling
Hello, and thank you for the visit. The wheels are UPW from mofo rc, and the tires are 64mm swamp kings from little guy racing products. I highly recommend using 3D printed inserts from flub rc to make them work best.
With great power comes with great responsibility
Or, in my case comes great destruction. Lol. Thank you for the visit and commenting.
Gotta love that black pickup!😍 Beautiful spot you found there too!
Thanks brother. The trailwalker has come a long way. We named it Luke trailwalker. Still not on the comp crawler level. We saw some incredible rigs down there at the dam.
I crawled down there one time a few years ago. Came over from Lexington with a group of guys from Louisville. Heck of a place to crawl, just a long arse drive. Good video btw.
@mikeabner9581 HI Mike. Lexington is quite a drive. I live 15 minutes from Rochester. Call me lucky. I bet there are some beautiful spots in your area to crawl. I was wondering about red river gorge. That would be epic! I'm glad you liked the video and thank you for the visit. Happy trails brother.
@@usssoupership yeah the Gorge is a great place you just have to make sure to hit the lesser traveled trails and don't take huge groups. We did a trail day out there six or seven years ago with Louisville Crawlers. It was posted on the page and we ended with something like 74 people show up. It was a Chit show to say the least and we were beyond shocked we didn't get the attention of the Park Rangers and booted out. But luckily everyone in our group was respectful and kind to the other hikers in the park so no one reported us.
@mikeabner9581 oh my. Nice turn out, but i can understand the issue there. It would be just my son and i. If I can ever get there, I will take your advice and stick to the lesser traveled trails. Thank you for the heads up.
What a great guy
Whats up mini. Thanks my friend. Hope you're doing well.
Doing alot better lately 😌 thank God
Heyy Sup
Very good video my friend!😎 Many cool shots!
Thanks, tevoh. It seemed like this video was fighting me. But finally it came together. Thanks for commenting brother.
Good information. Thankyou.
You're very welcome. Thank you for the visit and for leaving a comment.
Oh snaps, nvm hahaha
Thank you for the visit. And commenting.
Was probably your grub screw falling out. Hope you got a metal detector
Most likely was the pinion. So many pieces fell out it was hard to tell. 🤔
I’m buying that trailer you all realize this now right!?! lol great stuff
I get it. Lol. FlubRC has a lift kit and accessories for the trailer. And we picked up some dirt bikes from Walmart. Happy trails, and thanks again for the comments.
That part where cheese (I think that’s its name) helped safari jack when the trailer was hung on something in the beginning, was epic, nice music too
Yep, Big Cheese to the rescue. Safari jack! Got me rolling. It fits. He has that rig loaded.
This was great, thanks for taking us along!
You're welcome. Thank you for watching and the comments. We are glad you liked the video.
this is great, love the content.
Thank you. We appreciate the visit and the comment. Happy trails brother.
Every 293 feet of travel on these Traxxas TRX4M Crawler is 1 mile. If the trees were 30 feet tall or 40 footers, the trees would be 1/10 of a mile high or 13/100 of a mile high. I'd put some plastic gators in the water. Hahaha
Hi MrRaverion. I like th3 way you think. I'm going to look for some gators. And now all the trees look much taller. Thanks for the visit and comment.
Great video, like others have said its refreshing to see a nice trail run with no yelling. I'm thinking of grabbing one of these and have been for a while, what brand of low gear transmission and wheel set do you prefer? And where'd you guys get all the sick cosmetic items?
Hi Joshua. Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The trans and gear set are Traxxas. The wheels are from mofo rc, and the cosmetics are from Amazon and little guys racing. I hope you get one. They are a blast. Thanks again, we appreciate the visit.
@@usssoupership I actually got one because of you!! I make videos about it on my other channel, ZamaLlama, if you want to take a look. Would link but youtube won't let me. Will continue to watch your videos as well :)
@joshuazalamea1477 oh man I will definitely check it out and subscribe. I appreciate you brother. Thank you. It makes me happy to know this is bringing enjoyment to others.
Such a cool crawling spot! Great video man!
Thanks tevoh. It is a nice spot. I should have brought the trx4m and got some fresh video of them. I will be getting on it asap. Thanks for the comments.
Some more Trx4m content is much needed
I will get on that asap. I lost a ton of footage due to my own fault. Sorry about that. I appreciate your patience.
Definetly!
Got my first Axial last week and they really are great crawlers even out of the box ,but with some modifacations they are epic machines ....Harry
That is sweet. The scx24s are fantastic. Thanks for the visit my friend.
Thanks for sharing , what an awesome location , some nice modified crawlers there ......Harry
Thank you for watching. Yes there were some nice crawlers. My trail truck was having troubles keeping up.
Hey There you mind sharing what wheels you got on your rigs? They look sick!
thank you. we love these wheels. they are the UPW wheels from moforc.com/ and the tires are the 64mm swamp kings from littleguyracingparts.com/. you can create your own combo of wheels, hubs and bead lock rings. at mofo rc.
At the start when you mentioned the stock servo stripping its gears, i have experienced the same but thought i was crazy because "how the hell could a servo on a 1/18 scale get stripped" lol
Must be some real brittle plastics they're using because it happens way to much. Thank you for the visit and commenting. Happy trails brother.
@@usssoupershipI just bent my real axle on the TRX4M.. a 1/18 scale weighing under 1kg.. HOW?!😂
@@Aleksanderbigby I can't imagine. Maybe just the right fall and landing on that wheel could do it. My axle housings were bowed when it took it out of the box. I'm still running with it bent.
@@usssoupership still works fine tho👍
That was great to watch! I miss being able to trail like that with my truck. Great footage! ❤️
Right on! We're glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully, one day, you can get back on the trails. Until then, you're more than welcome to ride along with us. Thanks for the visit and commenting.
@@usssoupership I’m in a wheelchair and it’s tough. It’ll happen for me one day again. Thank you! Gotta get me a 4 wheel drive powerchair.
@expediterfromgeorgia7981 Well, I sure am sorry about that. I think a 4x4 wheel chair would be sweet. I can see it now, you climbing hills on that thing. And no worries. Just like the little trucks, we will flip you back over if you don't make it. But until then, we appreciate you riding along with us.

Hi guys .Thanks for sharing, I have ordered a Traxxas 18 scale two days ago so I'm checking out as much stuff as I can .I know yours are modified but their climbing abilities are awesome....subbed you from this channel too . Greetings from Northern Europe...Harry
Hello Harry, nice to meet you. Im soup. Greetings from Kentucky. Thank you for subscribing twice. You are the man! You're going to love the trx4m. Im excited for ya. I would warn you, but I can see you already have the addiction to the scale world. Hahaha. What rig are you getting?
@usssoupership hi Soup thanks for your reply...yes I get the warning bit 🤣we both know it will lead to more crawlers 🤭 I got the Ford F150 high trail ....I'm already thinking of the Land rover Defender as a second truck . Really impressed with your content Soup ....thank you for the subscription 👍...Harry
Awesome run , I know these trucks are sold as waterproof but to actually se them totally submerged and keep on going is amazing ....Harry
Hi Harry. I admit I was a bit nervous about running throught the water. But they did fine except for one time. I lost signal for just a couple of seconds. What is even more amazing is during the clean up and maintenance if found little to no water in the differentials and transmission. The tires, on the other hand, were full of it.
Hi Really enjoyed watching you guys climbing that tree , ive been watching lots of stuff on the traxxas trx4m crawlers and have ordered one two days ago , my return to rc cars after 40 years . excellent content and I subscribed to your channel , greetings from northern Europe ...Harry
What's up Harry. Thank you, and we are glad you enjoy the videos. 40 years is a long time. The hobby has changed but not to much. While the RCs have evolved with technology, the people involved have not. It's just as friendly as it's ever been.
What kind of shocks/config do you use with the gray Defender?
Hi. I'm running the stock shocks with no springs and rubber bands. To hold it down.
...the Ecto is the best RTR on market. I❤mine.
I couldn't agree more. We love it too. Thanks for the visit and commenting.
Great video, cool Track 👍! Did u change the Motor of the rig? It looks thaht it drives very smooth.
Thank you. I appreciate the comments. The motor is stock. The smoothness is due to the low range gears in the transmission. It killed the wheel speed. That's the sacrifice. A brushless system would be nice.
@@usssoupership thanks, i think i will change this in my Rig also. 👌
I would call I mt. root or root hill😊
Hi. I like it. Thanks for the suggestion. So far, it's looking like cliffhanger will be the official name. We'll as long as it lasts anyway. It's deteriorating pretty fast. Thank you for the visit and for taking the time to give us your input. We appreciate it brother. We have plenty of roots and should be able to apply it somewhere along the trail.
What tires are you running on thoes trucks?
Hi. halfkat We're running the little guy racing 64mm swamp kings. Mounted on mofo rc UPW wheels with slimeball inserts from flub rc. I'm terrible at putting out the specs and upgrades. But more than willing to answer any questions about the rigs. Thank you for the interest.

mofo wheels and how do you keep them screws from falling out? Just asking
Hi June. Im not sure what screws you mean. The only thing I had problems with were the hub nuts coming loose and the wheel falling off. If I tightened them up, it would lock the wheel up to the bearing. I had to run them loose. So I filed down the brass hex until they tightened up without locking the wheel to the bearing. Now they never come loose. As far as the screws in the wheel, I haven't had any issues. I don't use any loctite. I hope this can help. Thank you for the question.
