The inline Ford diesel is one of the best engines ever built, and at 85 H.P that boat will move when you need it. That ice box will hold a lot of beer.

I dont understand why are there keel bolts? Does that mean the keel is not encapsulated. I thought all long keel sailboats have no keel bolts

Be sure and get a qualified survey and, sail the boat before you buy it!! I can swim faster than it sails!!! It cannot point well !!! Even a log can drift down wind!!!

I have read a few of your posts on Trailer Trawlers. Just "Subscribed" to your channel. I have a 28' Cargile Cutter. I removed the 10 gal poop tank, toilet and all the plumbing. It was what the boat came with in 1973. I installed a Nature's Head composting toilet. That was 2 years ago. I have never looked back. I live in north central Florida. 85 degrees is balmy, beautiful weather.

She's a beauty for sure. Perfect for those that want do do some sailing but generally will just motor for shorter trips. In a different life, long before "she who must be obeyed" came along, I could see myself on this as a single man's live-aboard :)

Hey buddy. Like your videos. FYI Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries cannot go in your engine compartment. The BMS will shut them off around 140-175F. Lithium batteries are very sensitive to temperature. Your going to have to find a cooler place for them

Hmmm . . . Well, this is quite disappointing. I was expecting a video on PS foam-cored DIY fiberglass tanks, either glassed in bulkheads glasses to the hull or prebuilt complete tanks. Nope - only using PS foam used instead of cardboard to mock up tank sizes. Quite the misleading title, and a worthless video to me.

There's a Navigator 38' for sale on FB Marketplace on the Texas coast and I've been really tempted to go take a look. One thing I'm not clear on is what kind of performance you get out of these boats just with sails -- to be clear, I don't need to go fast on just the wind, just need to be able to go ;) Some folks make it sound like these "can't sail at all" and I'm curious what your take is.

By having 2 large tanks you are going to have a weight imbalance problem. That’s over 300pounds when full of water on one side and waste tank empty…. You need 4 smaller tanks with water and waste on both sides with equal draw to maintain balance.

Just came into my feed,this is the type of project and price range I need. Best part of the old sails is they are templates for new sails,mark your dimensions and upgrades and order. Newer rigging(fresh water if salt it would be time to inspect well or just change). Have never seen this self steering setup,if you could do a more in depth examination I would absolutely watch. RE the macerating toilet. My 39 year old jimmy rigged system is coming out of my 32 Bayliner MY. You confirmed my thoughts about hose size. Think my toilet was hand pump originally and had a electric conversion installed before me, so over 27 years ago. Has worked great for my 27 years. THe exit hose is 1 inch and rigged converted to inch and a half. No doubt the gook is laying in the bigger pipe and like you said is not efficient. It will also be so much easier fishing smaller hose 10 feet through the old boat. cut the corroded aluminum fresh water tank out over the summer, hot water and holding tank in the junk now. Running all pex as well. Will be watching. You are right about the "info" out there. I take bits and pieces for what they are and figure out how stuff should be done if it makes sense to me. PS did a bunch of rewiring couple years ago. Best way to make an electric toilet work well is good power and ground. Only took me 25 years..lol

Joe, Lowes carries a pvc 4x8 sheet 3/8 thick .Made a shade cover for my 20 ft electric launch.Great material to work with. Just back from Friesland 7 days not a cloud.Excellent
