why was the incident aircraft upside down in the median ? is it really that hard to land on a 60 feet road
"The 85"? ATC must be visiting from SoCal.
The “oh wow” got me…. 💀
It's not everyday that you get to see a low fuel. 🤣
When someone yells help on the radio, everyone shut up and let ATC take charge. Other pilots need a strong lesson suspending their licenses for couple years
Yeah, there really was alot of unnecessary chatter going on here.
They were at an airport with no control tower. There was no ATC. The aircraft were communicating on the CTAF which can be the same frequency as other airports in the area.
So did it pass the pre-sale inspection?
Only if you are buying it.
Why did it sound like tower had TOGA power set? 😂
🤣
Proof that money can’t guarantee you everything or anything
I would like a vision jet tho.
who flies somewhere such that a 30 minute delay would make you late?
Who flies to a WEDDING with less than 30 minutes to spare?!
If you wait till the last minute, it will only take a minute.
dude pilot... call your own FBOs to get your OWN airplane towed.
At least people were OK with the sh*t happens side of aviation.
Yeah, everyone was super chill about it too.
Good grief. Is no one teaching these chuckleheads about proper radio use? Unbelievable
men chatterboxes?
a real cluster that the other dudes felt they had to talk when she needed help covering everybody as she yelled for help...clueless
If I heard someone calling for help, I can’t fathom deciding that would be the time to keep making calls. I also fly out of an untowered, so am used to planes without radios. Someone calling for help would definitely be the time to stay off the radio, and either circle above to leave the runway open for them and land after if possible, or go land elsewhere.
To any who think the radio traffic was cluttered, this is nothing. This airport clearly has a large presence in training for GA. When you get 5 student pilots in the same airspace learning radio etiquette it can sound like nobody ever lets of the mic key.
Doesn't matter. You hear a voice yelling "Help". That's not the time to be chatting to each other.
@@DrLumpyDMus Only one heard it and for a reason. She was not on their channel but bled over. As stated by a pilot who is "chatting" too much, she was being assisted by someone else on a different channel. If you have ever used a radio in an airplane you will understand that every one of those pilots was hearing a different transmission than the one you just listened to. Hearing clearly on your own channel can be rough let alone hearing a bleed over from a different channel. Kudos to them for hearing it at all and attempting to respond and help.
Indeed! Thank goodness someone was there to help her land!
Disappointing to hear so many people on the radio with no call signs and indiscriminate chatter. At least they got off
I should have mentioned that it was a CTAF. But thats still a whole lot of chatter without callsigns.
"The pilot suffered a medical issue inflight and later died." It was distressing hearing the passenger's repeated calls for help. Glad she was apparently able to establish contact with someone not on the recording.
Glad she was able to have contact indeed. Else the landing would have been way worse.
Ok. Well first you have to understand that Kamala grew up in a middle class family. So there is that.
Make sure you never miss an opportunity to express your hate, no matter how irrelevant or inappropriate it may be. Good MAGAt.
You have to understand that President Trump sparked a violent attack on our Capitol to advance an unconstitutional plot to install him using sham slates of electors. That's why he sat/watched as Americans were killed and injured.
@@lebojay well said.
Wow you couldn’t make this up, how can anyone keep chatting when someone is in such distress is beyond me.
@@TheFlaneur-up1ftIt’s the same stupid people who make cat noises or say “guard” on the emergency frequency.
Your description isn't clear. The pilot succumbed ... is that the medical emergency victim, or the non pilot who attempted to land, or both?
THIS is the only two-engine C-130 in the Coast Guard inventory!
That's pretty cool!
At 0:35 ATC loses signal and wonders if the plane is in the water. At 1:54 ATC knows that the plane is in the water. At 5:58 he asks for a CG vessel to assist, it's a kind of slow reaction. More then 4 min before he asks for a boat. At 6:30 he gets the message "4 people in the water" At 6:33 he affirms with "2 people in the water"
This video perfectly captures the professionalism and skill displayed by both the air traffic controller and the Coast Guard team. The way they communicate with such precision and clarity, even in high-pressure moments, shows their deep concern for safety and successful coordination. The level of trust between these two entities is remarkable, and it’s evident that their teamwork is critical in life-saving operations. Kudos to everyone involved for their unwavering dedication and exceptional handling of what must have been a very challenging situation!
AI alert.
I agree totally with your assessment! I have been a pilot for over 58 years and have always enjoyed my professional relationship between an ATC controllers and pilots, and this video almost brought tear to my eyes. Very well done on all parties!
Thank you for your comment, and I completely agree! Both teams did a very good job here.
This ATC is kinda slow. The other pilot said a quarter mile off the end of the runway and then the ATC says a quarter mile south of the pier??
Man that would suck, losing your plane and then getting stuck with milton
Yeah, hopefully insurance will come through.
Good thing they weren't carrying coconuts.
Sounds like them birds are roasted...can we get chips and salad ready on landing...tower
Bringing fast food to the next level.
Southwest, the miracle airline. It is not unusual to see as many as 12-20 passengers pre-board in wheel chairs with some type of disability or handicap. Upon arrival at their destination, all but 1-2 of those previously wheel chair bound disabled passengers quickly exit the plane, sprint to baggage claim, remove their heavy luggage from the turnstile and walk out the door to catch their shuttle bus.
Time to cancel my doctors appointment then!
Crash was totally avoidable....ugh
That's the tragic part. 😪
Humm. Maybe fly the plane and not need the parachute.
The "fire" was overheated brakes that caused the tires to catch fire. The aircraft was in an electrical emergency configuration which limits available devices and control surfaces used in stopping thus putting more stress on the brakes. The aircraft did not catch fire or burst into flames. And PLEASE stop using the word "tarmac" for any paved surface at an airport. You are not using it correctly. Airports have runways, taxiways and aprons. Tarmac is the paving material used to make runways, taxiways and aprons.
Thank you for sharing! I appreciate that! And noted on the Tarmac! I will be careful with that too! Thanks!
Shut up nerd
Wow, a lot of second guessing going on in the comments from pilot error to some that must have serious Cirrus envy. What matters is two great guys / fathers passed away in that accident and deserve the benefit of doubt. Until the NTSB does their investigation, we will not know what caused or contributed to the accident. I do agree with one comment, pilots flying in Mountainous areas must always be mindful of the effects of density altitude on their specific aircraft. Hopefully, some learnings can come out of this terrible tragedy to help avoid it from happening again.
These guys have ice in their veins.
I'm a student pilot here at KPVU and this was quite the sad accident to see.
Hope this doesnt make you question being a pilot too much. When I was learning to fly out of U42 there were a few accidents around the state which made me question "why am I doing this?" But every time I go fly for fun I love it so much. I try to get the details of accidents and learn "what not to do". What I have found at least here in Utah is don't overload your plane with people or fuel and then go try to fly around the mountains on a hot day. (not this case.. but many others)
The guilt that jackass who took too long on the runway must have….
pretty nonchalant controller, guy had to go around because he didnt space the sportcruiser and the cirrus well enough and then the guy in the cirrus was on edge wondering if the controller had the other cirrus up his ass so distracted him because he already was jerked around, guy needs to pay attention. prob would have been safer if it was a nontowered situation
Thats the part that gets me too. If only he didnt have to go around the first time.
No, the Cirrus that crashed was at fault for the go-around; he turned base the right way when the controller said, "Base turn approved at your discretion." This pilot was actually known for not keeping good spacing. I personally talked to him the day before the crash. He was asked to do a 4-mile downwind, and he turned right behind the other aircraft about 2 miles from the end of the runway. Michale wasn't fully paying attention to the controller. He thought he was told to turn base.
@@onecoolnerd987 he was told to turn base, listen to the recording
@@justinjohnson2501 Close, but not exactly what he was told and in this case it makes all the difference...He was told to turn base "at your discretion" meaning he can turn base when the pilot has left enough space between the plane he was flying and the one ahead of him. The Cirrus has a faster final approach speed than many other planes flying in and out of KPVU so he should have given enough spacing to prevent a go around.
He's a new controller, has been training on the position for the past few weeks. He's been at the limit of his ability most of the time which is why he sounds pretty emotionless.
Boring.. This is only audio.. Do just a little work and some pictures...
I do what i can. Sorry about that!
I was flying my Rv 10 from Utah 42U to KWYS Yellowstone when this Cirrus crashed tragic. Got the news on our phones, sounded to me like a low time pilot in an unforgiving plane. Stall spin on base while searching traffic, this is just tragic. Looking forward to the debrief.
May they rest in peace, but this is another reason why you could not give me a cirrus , those are some ground loving sonofabitches of a airplane , that plane kills students, CFIs and high time pilots .
May they rest in peace.
The pilot let his guard down thinking the parachute will save him.
Do you think you can do a video or at least a text post after we know what happened? Thanks
I will keep that in mind! But definitely possible!
What happened was the cirrus pilot got too slow and stalled the plane and it entered a spin and went down into the water. Several eyewitnesses saw the plane spin (including Arrrow 2994R). Why he got too slow nobody will ever know (lack of situational awareness), but this was the classic stall-to-spin accident that happens all to frequently when turning from base leg to final. It's the most common LOC (loss of control) accident. I would be surpised if the eventual NTSB report will tell us any more than this.
Utah lake not lake pravo
Thanks for the catch! Let me see if I can fix that.
Tight turn to base, distracted looking for traffic.............
I’m from SGU. I know the couple that owns the flight school that taught these guys. Really tragic.
Indeed. Keeping them in my thoughts and prayers. 🙏
Was N831AZ the Cirrus that JR Aviation was thinking of buying? ruclips.net/video/drPW5wOVLSE/видео.html
Wow. That's a good catch! That's the same aircraft but I am not sure if the purchase went through. I am not too informed there.
Question: why are numbers written as words? Like holding one eight and not holding rw18
Its a personal preference to me. I get that RW18L would be easier for people who are familiar to read, but I was hoping that spelling it all out helps anyone who is reading it for the first time.
For translation is numbers better in my opinion.
Quite the Boeing moment…
Quite the Boeing moment indeed.
I was on DAL295. Myself and many other passengers first thought we had hit a deep pothole. It felt just like that. We discovered later that the torque of impact lifted one set of wheels off the ground for a moment. We also discovered that the restroom doors would no longer close (we sat on the taxiway for an hour or so while they evacuated the other plane behind us). Apparently the torque of impact twisted the entire airframe enough to put the restroom doors out if alignment. I don’t think that A350 will ever fly again. I also have pictures of the damage to our wing, which was about three feet from the fuel tanks in the wing. Fully loaded for the fifteen hour flight to Tokyo
Thanks for sharing. Thats kinda crazy! I would not have imagined the airframe going out of alignment. And thankfully the fuel tank was intact, that would have complicated the matter.
On a positive note, replacing the door shouldn't be a problem and should only cost around $158,000.
Or a bunch of flight tape might do the trick.
Both at fault here.... I saw another video with a photo of the CRJ stopped a little too short of the runway.. Another 5-10 ft. and the two would've cleared. Still the Airbus should've been paying closer attention.
Yeah, I do believe that everyone has a lesson to learn from this unfortunate event.
In this incident, the pilot maintained composure and followed proper procedures during the emergency. What do you think is the most crucial skill or trait for pilots to have when dealing with unexpected situations like this? Share your thoughts and experiences below!
any news on wether the A380's of EK and QR were diverted?
On the day of the incident, they did have to divert some of the aircrafts.
they both landed 06.
