Hi Georgia, thanks I really appreciate the comment! We left early (7am) in the morning and the trail was not too crowded ( this was July 2nd ). The main concern I would have with starting on the trail in the afternoon would be if there were thunderstorms ( that seem to occur every time I've been to the Dolomites ), by the time the storm that hit us happened we were already at the lake so it was no big deal to let them pass. People on the trail were pretty good about making room for passing. Hope that is helpful :)

Oh no, please go - it is so nice and the very high parts are easy to pass through, they don't make up very much of the route. My wife is afraid of heights also and as you can see she made it, no problem :)

The combination of black, white and orange can make a range of colors, from earthy warm greys to browns - hope that helped.

Oh really? It makes grey to Brown when mixing all three? That's something. Also I've been looking up some things like black and orange make brown (which I kinda seen but want to see better) and white and brown name beige. Think you can do that?

Yea, definitely! It's a really great spot but you have to catch it when there aren't a lot of off-road vehicles. I've been there in both scenarios.....they tend to make it harder to meditate - LOL.

I'd brave that hike in a hurricane if necessary!

Hi Anna - Yes, I think it is mostly safe and I saw younger children (under 10) with their parents while on the path. There are a few areas like the ones I showed where you must be careful but they are pretty short and most of the hike is beautiful and safe! Enjoy your trip, it is well worth it :)

Haha, it would seem that way but it has just been a coincidence. Also, the Dolomites in Italy in June and July (when we usually go) have more storms that come through... it makes for more interesting photo opportunities and the Alpine flowers are in full bloom too. @@sarahf371 Thanks, I'm glad you like them! So the trail that we took to Lago di Sorapis was here goo.gl/maps/JMPeKh3ZJnbBMLa79 There are so many great trails and hikes you can do in the Dolomites. I would try to narrow down the options by which area you are in and then do some google searches. For instance, Cortina as an area as opposed to Alpe di Siusi. One thing I use quite often are the many live webcams scattered around the Dolomites. They won't show you trails but they give you a pretty good scenic view of what an area looks like - then I research more from there. Here is a link to one of the cams and then if you click the other cams on the screen you will open a page for that view - valgardena.panomax.com/colraiser - I hope that all helps - Im jealous and can't wait to get back there... so many places I want to explore :) Have a great trip!
