I would not consider this a 15 day mini season because that would preclude to a longer season later which is not to be. I’m not sure how NMF goes from 6 months down to 15 days in a 2year span. Where pray tell do they their data from

Unfortunately wasn't able to land a keeper gag this short season. I'm limited in my 18 footer to like 25 miles out though (usually in the 15-20 mile mark), which gets me in roughly 60 feet of water in Pasco County. I got one 23.5" though. One day I'll get out to this deep water when I have the cash for a bigger boat with a larger gas tank. I catch some good sized gags in the winter time though up to 30 inches. Switching over to mangrove snapper now, then hogfish once water cools down a bit. I'm pretty good at catching hogfish, but mangrove snapper usually elude me.

I notice the boat was rocking. When you bring the fish on the boat, do they ever get seasick?

I was really amazed at the depth change as soon as I hit that ledge. We fished on top then went off edge. Soon as went off the edge, bite stopped. Hit back button on trolling motor and got back on top of ledge, 2 pole bent over instantly!

Nice Mangs, Any tips on where to get Red snapper went out Mexican pride last weekend and got nothing but snapped lines to some big Gags more than likely. Fish all in the water column but no snapper.

Always can tell when the mangroves move back in when everyone flocks to the rocks 🙄

What rods and reels did you use for that big grouper? And what rod and reel did your buddy use to catch that red snapper in the next part?

wow those are huge snapper. I want to get strike line charts but i have Garmins so i don't think its worth it. Garmin has limited the amount of spots for some reason.
