The Pokemon TCG space will never be completed untill they launch whole collections as NFTs. NFTs solve a lot of the problems that normally occur when trying to trade physical copies. Scammers, lack of knowledge and where to look for, lack of connections, distribution issues and much more can be solved by having all of this marketplace digitally. Maybe the nostalgic part of opening packs will be gone, maybe the grading part will be gone but I believe launching NFT collections is the next big thing and it can be quite more profitable because it will bring in so many people, even newbies who don't know how or can't look into the way to buy physical copies.

Unfortunately, Korean cards aren't worth much or anything.

I am 53, retired and didn't even know what a Pokemon was other than my kid collected them when he was young. I am now buying Pokemon cards because I enjoy the artwork and the thrill of the chase. Pluse it is a fun hobby to add to my sports card collecting. I will be starting a home side business selling cards and teaching grandkids to do the same once they are of age. P.S. - RUclips is also helping me get up to speed with the younger generation lingo. Sick, Fire, Nasty, Bro, etc.

What is worth more english or japanese cards?

Trading up is pathetic. Reality is the easiest way still takes enough money that it's not possible if you're a kid (without rich parents). Buying and holding booster boxes/cases is by far the easiest way. Another is watching vendor POV videos and paying attention to cards that everyone is looking for (Bubble Mew and Van Gogh Pikachu for example). When crazy demand meets a luxury hobby market, the price is going to soar. Do those two things or just throw your money into VOO. Anything else is much less reliable and goes against the entire point.

Yesterday I bought a southern islands vileplume card for less than $10. Good deal for me.

The lesson to take away here is, become successful and then quit your job and sell trading cards until you’ve hit your target.

I am 30 and sure I had a time where I did not touch pokemon cards but I got back in and man is it better than ever before. I think I will continue to collect from here on out.

This video contains a blatant lie. As a player from the Netherlands there is no store, I cannot spend money to buy anything. I was one month late with playing from the release... and yet.. I've had every meta deck, including the current celebi ex and garados ex decks.. You do not have to spend a single dime on this game. Either he's sponsored by them or hasn't tested playing without spending and thus has no ground to make such claims. I despise youtubers like you.

@BrandonMartyn is the MysticRips buy list suspended or what? I spent 4-5 hrs listing, sorting, and packing 270 cards worth $700+ just to get an email saying everything is being put on hold. Why not say that in the first place on the portal?

My opinion is that later 5 to 10 years virtual cards will replace physical cards and that’s it no more physical cards being made…but physical cards and sealed products will boom for investors and new collectors wanting to have physical cards because they’re not being made…a penny worth common card could go to $10 maybe $100 who knows

amazon getting onto live streaming would be SUCH a game changer, especially if free shipping gets involved. being able to save ~4$ a slab would make them skyrocket

lets be honest, there is 0 % chance that an existing ip surpasses pokemon by the 50th anniv... so lets not talk about a new ip that would have to beat pokemon with being 30 year late on it...its mission impossible really... pokemon will FOR SURE be #1 still for the 50th

Can I just say. I dont like TAG. I dont like how these companies are trying to come in and compete against PSA. They're doomed to fail. Because no true collector is willing to buy anything outside of PSA and old label CGC. I have a good handful of TAG that I bought off of a couple collectors and I cant move it to save my life. I quite literally had to give it away in my whatnot stream to get rid of it. Its a buyer beware scenario.
