Hi Aly I just found your channel this morning, the fulsome tulips) and like so many, am immediately hooked. I love your enthusiasm and easy advice. You asked us to let you know what we’d like help with . . . For me, it’s them pesky trees in Landscapes, and making the land look like it’s a steep uphill when you’re fairly close to it, but mostly, it’s the trees. Mine are either overworked or underworked. My husband loves landscape paintings and I’d love to be able to do one for him that I felt proud of (of course, he loves everyone I’ve done for him, but to me they’re not right) anyway, thank you, and take care x

Hello Aly…your newbie here…this was a wonderful demonstration of palette knife painting and for those who don’t understand Impressionism, this was a wonderful example of such! I love using the palette knife and will give this a go. Yesterday, after coming across your channel I went and painted (not the same subject) but using your tips I was thrilled with what came out on the paper (I used watercolor paper-a discarded watercolor painting 😅). You helped the “light bulb” to go on and I was able to do something that previously was difficult for me. Please keep posting and I wish you all the best…God bless!😊

❤ My husband died of Covid pneumonia four years ago, but he loved going to Northern Ireland to the children’s camp with Church of Christ every summer for 30 years. Listening to you reminds me of the accent he would use every time he spoke of someone from there. He always said the Irish deeply loved people.

❤ Thank you for ministering to the person holistically. I began my art journey in earnest after my husband , he was still preaching, and I had retired from teaching, a month later, we both got Covid pneumonia, I survived and he died. Along with losing the love of my life, learning to develop a new career, because public schools won’t hire teachers back except part time substitute teaching, and moving out of the parish into a house that we had been renovating. It has been four years and most days it feels as if it were yesterday. Painting and drawing have given me an outlet for that grief, but I focus on the I derive from it. I will definitely be implementing your strategies for grieving. I love your phrase, “I’m just griefing!”

But two years ago my husband had a stroke and is very sick. We have been together for 68 years. I lost my desire to paint and almost did not paint for quite a while. But your videos opened my heart, and I want to paint and listen to you. You are a very charming, beautiful, sensible soul.
