Oh man. Every time I watch this scene I am blown away at how powerful and emotional it is. The poetic contrast of Perry white and the girl giving up and accepting their fate set against Superman doing just the opposite by gaining the strength to prevail against a seemingly impossible task. It's a beautiful story of determination and strength set to a moving score. The whole thing just brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. Just a masterclass in cinema
