2025 Honda Dax 125 - Unboxing the accessories for our 2025 Dax 125 (Part 3)
พร้อมซับไทย 日本語字幕付き
In this video, we unbox and show ten more H2C accessories for the Honda Dax 125. We also unbox the Honda chrome Rear Carrier, that we showed in Part 1, but didn't unbox it then. We also fix some mistakes that we made in Part 2 about fitting the chrome Rear Carrier and the H2C Rear Rack with the Honda Saddlebag mount. After unboxing the H2C parts, we also unpack the accessory we bought at K-SPEED in Bangkok two years ago when when Ton and Kyo of Beezdeals were giving us a tour of the motorcycle scene in Bangkok.
We bought the 2025 Dax 125 chrome Rear Carrier #: 08L70-K2W-A20 at Love Motorsports, our local Honda dealer:

      @gustwowheeling7337, Gus, I hear you..LOL.. First, I made a bad mistake in this video and can't figure out how to use RUclips's "Correction:" feature. The text in the section about the H2C rear rack is all wrong. The H2C Rear Rack, the OEM chrome Rear Carrier, and the stock grab handle all fit fine with the OEM Saddlebag mount, with no extra spacer needed. I think I'll start off Part 3 with a correction in the video itself. As far as waiting at the port, I look at the inventory at Honda of Melbourne every morning. They are a big Powerhouse dealer in Florida and they always get the first batch of anything new. Once I see a Dax show up in Melbourne, than I know mine will arrive at Love Motorsports or Action Honda in about 2-3 weeks.

    Impressive collection of small bikes, which I love, but the best of all is the passion that comes from the videos, the desire to improve them, adapt accessories and see how they improve. A mix of excitement and passion made reality that recharges the mind and spirit. I only have three bikes, two of them small: a Rieju Bye Bike 50cc 2T moped, a Monkey 125 2024 and a Triumph Speed 400, although this one is a little bigger, hahahahaha. Hi, very nice vide! I am thinking of purchasing one of these, a 2009 year. How does this ride in comparison to the SuperCub? Have you found it to be reliable and fun?

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage 8 дней назад

      @latashamajor, Thanks for watching and your kind words. We bought the Symbas because we had seen Super Cub 110s during our trips to Japan, but the Super Cub 110 was never sold in the USA. We have never ridden an older Super Cub 110, but I think the ride is probably similar to the Symba. Once the Super Cub 125 became available we bought a couple of them as well, and still have all four. The Super Cub 125 feels noticeably heavier and more refined. The Symbas have four things going for them that are missing on the Super Cub 125, a real key, a side stand, back seat and pegs, and a kick starter. The Super Cub 125 has fuel injection, aluminum wheels, tubeless tires, and more power. Both are about equally fun, and we haven't had anything break on any of them, except for the batteries in all four have been replaced.

      Thanks for replying with such a thorough response. I recently purchased a 2024 Supercub as my first motorcycle. I love it but I struggle with the center stand. Someone in my area is selling a 2009 Simba for $1500 and I've been on the fence as to whether to purchase the Simba or a Navi. The other bike is so that my spouse and I can ride together. By the way, what phone holder and charger are you using for your Cub?

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage 8 дней назад

      @@latashamajor The Super Cub 125 comes with a side stand in the Japanese market and other markets. In order to add it to the USA model, you need to buy a new OEM Step Bar, the OEM side stand and it's spring. Several vendors sell the parts. You either need to buy the two rubber ends for the step bar, or reuse the ones on your existing step bar. They are glued to the step bar. One word of caution: The USA Super Cub 125 wiring harness does not come with wiring for the side stand switch, so when the side stand is down, you have to remember it is down, as the motorcycle will not tell you it is down. However, the Symba also has no side stand switch, so the side stand on the USA Super Cub will act just like the one on the Symba. $1,500 is a fair price for a cherry 2009 Symba. However, when I advertise mine for sale on Craigslist for $1,000 each, I get no interest in them. I expect your seller is seeing the same thing, so he will probably take $1,000. If you have more questions on the Super Cub 125 side stand, please join the forum at: www.advrider.com/f/threads/honda-super-cub-c125.1263678/ You can ask for more information about where to buy the side stand parts there.

      @latashamajor, I forgot to mention that the cell phone holder I use on all my motorcycles is the H2C phone holder that you can buy at beezdeals.com. They come in two colors, gray and black, and there are two models; mirror mount and bar mount. I have black mirror mount ones on the Super Cub 125s, and bar mount ones on the Symbas. The chargers I used for the Super Cubs are made by Battery Tender. Both Super Cub 125s have a charging lead attached full time, but I only hook up the chargers to the leads if I don't drive the motorcycles at least once a week.

Flooding is impossible in my neighborhood no matter how high the tide, or how much rain we get. Top winds here were 30 mph, and I don't think anyone in our development had any damage unless a tree fell on their house, and I didn't see that any trees had fallen. We had no damage here, and never lost electrical power. I'll be delivering ice and gasoline today to a neighborhood 30 miles south of here.

      @gustwowheeling7337, The StreamTrail 30L duffle is almost a cube when it's inner walls are installed, and it then almost the exact size of the 30L aluminum top boxes on the Monkeys. I am hoping that when the walls are out, and everything is laying flat on the rear rack, that I will be able to swing my leg over it. I have a bit of difficulty getting off the Monkeys. I hear you about the port strike.. The green Dax e came in through the port of New Jersey.. not sure how it got there as the both the Suez and the Panama canals weren't operating as normal. I think there has now been enough rain in Panama, so that the canal may be back to normal. At this point, I have nothing on the way on sea freight.

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage 21 день назад

      @bethharoldsy, Thanks for watching and your comment, much appreciated. We bought the front rack (front shelf) and most of the rest of the accessories from BuyEChina. Here is a link that shows the front rack and most of the accessories we bought: www.buyechina.com/en/goods/detail/60OwhKLrqmorfFEklTb6iK4m/tao Note that we ended up throwing away the meter bracket, and returning the meter to it's original location, and then mounted the front binding bag ahead of the mirror instead of underneath it. Using the meter bracket stretches the wiring to the meter and also exposes the wires to the rain and weathering. We also replaced the rear top case in this video with a smaller one in a later video. Both of our two Dax e now have essentially the same options, except for brown on the green and black on the red. We have no source for parts for the Dax e itself, other than the eBike shops in the Philippines and they won't ship parts to the USA. Please report back here if you find a source where you can buy parts such as OEM body parts, OEM turn signals, EOM controls and so on. There must be a parts house somewhere in the world that stocks Dax e parts, but we haven't been able to find it. We haven't broken any parts yet, but have no backups.

    Hello, Great informational video. Can you tell me if the black giuard attached to the metal cover is plastic? Also some dimension? I am wondering if I can 3D print one out of high temp plastic. Thank you.

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage 21 день назад

      @dhayden7724, Thanks for watching and your comment, much appreciated. Yes, the black guard on the OEM exhaust cover for the CT125 with rear passenger pegs is plastic. In the three years since we made the video, there have been many substitutes made for that plastic shield, but none of them match the OEM shape. If you could 3D print one exactly like the OEM part, we think there would be a good market for them. If you print to a non-OEM pattern, not so much as there is already plenty of competition for them. Also, since the fully assembled foot pegs are now sold, there is no longer a need to assemble them from the OEM parts. Here is one that claims to be fiberglass: www.ebay.com/itm/114516842210 Here is one of ABS Plastic: www.ebay.com/itm/235452988417 This one claims to be stainless steel, but I guess it is painted black: www.ebay.com/itm/285619040406 There are perhaps more than two dozen different substitutes, but I know of none that match the OEM shape exactly and have the same mounting points molded in.

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage 18 дней назад

      @@dhayden7724 Sorry, I can't help you with that. If you are trying to make a one-off piece for yourself, then close enough is good enough. If you are trying to make a pattern and plan to make multiple copies, then you will want to be perfectly accurate. In the first case, simply zoom in on any of the hundreds of photos of Japanese CT125, and simply count the holes ahead of and behind the guard, and count the holes on your USA one. The holes are the same, and you should be able to get a close idea of the size. If you want an exact copy, then order the exhaust shield from Webike, remove the plastic guard and reproduce it. I think the back side of the plastic guard has "rivets" molded into it that pass through a number of holes, and then the end of the rivets are flattened with heat as I remember it.

Not a big count, but not a low record. The low record is still held by the Super Cub "Hiking Churchhouse Hammock" video with 238, and the Trail 125 video called "Kites" with 285 views... LOL.. I have roughly 18 accessories on order for the 2025 Dax 125, and they should start arriving soon. I think it will be a month or more before the Dax 125 itself arrives, so I'll probably make a few Dax accessory unboxing videos while I am waiting. In every country in the world, the Dax 125 comes with a double pad shifter, instead of the rubber tube on the front and a pad on the back. My guess is that the USA model will come with a rubber tube on the front and a pad on the back, similar to the USA Super Cub and USA Trail 125, but I do not know that. I ordered a double pad shifter from Japan for the Dax, just in case.

      @jokerioafm12, Thanks for watching and your kind words. So far, no problems, but I worry about anything going wrong with the electrics, since I don't have a source for parts. I am also very careful not to loose the spare NFC card, as I have no clue how to go about replacing a lost one. Based on the videos on your channel, I assume you live in California. I have been assuming that to get parts, I would have to go to Manila in the Philippines.. The eBike dealers sell Dax e, Cub e, Zoomer e and I assume that they can get parts, but so far, none of them will ship outside of the Philippines. I think I had better start looking for a parts place for Dax e. I found the battery at Popcycle, but they won't ship it: popcycleebikecenter.com/products/honda-dax-battery?_pos=1&_sid=757b69129&_ss=r I haven't even translated the wiring diagram for the Dax e, but am doing it right now after seeing your comment. After the translation, I will see if I can spot the NFC module and find a part# for it. I assume your friend has found a parts supplier, so I will also start looking for a Dax e parts supplier that will ship to the USA. Thanks again for your comment.

      @annamalaithirumeni9093 Thanks for watching and your comment. We have no idea how to buy a Trail 125 in India. If we lived in India, we would first develop a relationship with our local Honda dealer: www.honda2wheelersindia.com/network/dealerlocator Start by visiting the showroom, and then over the course of several weeks, visit again, just to chat. Offer to take one of the sales people to lunch. When you have developed trust with them over the course of three or four weeks, ask the salesperson over lunch how to do it. If they say they can't help ask them to give you a recommendation for an importer. If they still can't help then you would have to import one yourself. We think that would be quite difficult: www.konnectinternational.com/how-to-import-bikes-to-india/

The storm will have passed here by 8 or 9, and be well gone to Georgia by morning. Vintage Garage is well east of Crystal River and at an elevation of a bit more than 100 feet. I think flooding is impossible here, but the big risk will be from tornadoes, if any hit here. RUclipsr Motocheez has been posting live video streams from his house in Crystal River if you want to see up to date video. @MilesMcDanielWaterpolo Miles, Honda makes two different Dax models. The electric one is the Dax e: and it has pedals and is an eBike. The other is a motorcycle and has no pedals. The Dax e: is battery powered, the other is gasoline powered. The gasoline powered one is called the Dax 125. The top speed on the Dax e: by default is 25 kph or about 15 mph. One can buy a modified controller for the Dax e: so that the top speed is about 45 kph or about 25 mph. I don't know if that would be allowed in California. The top speed on the Dax 125 is about 55 mph.

      @Vintage_Garage Месяц назад

      @longislanderNY, Thanks for watching and your comment, much appreciated. A year ago, within a week of posting the video, most people were taking the shortcut you recommend. They were just too lazy to do the work to change out the JA55 top bridge for a JA65 top bridge and simply used M6 bolts to mount the meter stay to the JA55 top bridge instead of using M8 bolts to mount the meter stay to the JA65 top bridge. We figured that there must be a reason that the Honda engineers beefed up the mounting. That meter stay, the part number and the discussion about it was covered in the follow-up video that you didn't see. It is at: ruclips.net/video/nCOzN3BfWqM/видео.html and it includes a reference video from another channel on how to do the job properly. We clearly don't recommend your solution. However, after a year of history of most using the shortcut, it does look like the the short cut works, as we haven't heard of any JA55 top bridges failing with the windshield mounted. We gave away the part you mention to one of our subscribers who ended up taking your shortcut. Since we didn't want to change the top bridge, we just waited until we could get a couple of JA65s, and installed the windshield on one of them.

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage Месяц назад

      @genechristmas755 Gene, I think it would work on a Trail 125, as it looks to me like the bolt spacing on the top bridge is the same as on a Monkey, and I think the headlight connector I used is actually sold as fitting the CT125/Trail 125. However, I don't think it is the solution I would use. I have MOLLE bags on all of my motorcycles and frankly, they foul in the USB-C Charger pretty badly when it is mounted on the top bridge. There have been several years of videos from me and others on how to add a USB charger plug to a Honda Trail 125 using the existing socket hole that is part of the meter stay. I don't think any of those solutions were very clean including my own. When the Trail 125 was introduced to the USA, the Honda Powersports web site listed a 12v accessory for an entire year, but that accessory never appeared, and they finally dropped mention of it on their web site quietly. The only Honda OEM 12v accessory I could find is the 12v Socket for the Rebel. It is the right diameter to fit the Trail 125/CT125 hole in the meter stay, is genuine OEM, and has the locating tab that fits the slot in the meter stay hole. The wires to it don't end with a blue connector however, but rather, they end with a pair of bullet connectors. While I haven't seen any videos except mine about using the OEM 12v Rebel socket an a Trail 125. In that video, I connected it straight to the battery, so I could also charge the battery through that socket. If all you want is a USB charger, then one could use the Rebel 12v socket and modify my Y connector idea to add the correct sex bullet connectors to it instead of the blue male connector. Then put the Rebel plug in the Trail 125 hole, and connect the bullet connectors inside the headlight. That way you could put any number of USB plugs, including a USB-C plug into the Rebel 12v socket. I need to search Webike to see if there are any Honda OEM sockets that end with the blue connector. If so, then using one of those might be an option.
