I finally got my grandma's old dresser that she got from her mom. I don't have the heart to refinish it, so I'm using Restore a finish and praying it turns out well. I'm sure it will and you gave me great hope!!

I don’t want you to take this the wrong way, consider this more constructive criticism. I don’t think it is a good Idea to paint over old furniture especially ones that emphasize the grain pattern of the wood such as the dresser that you have there. I think it ruins the furniture a little and if you are to restore a pice like that you should use finishes and stains rather than paint. You did do a good job on the project though it is just not for me.

Looks great but When this wears down and needs to be refinished again your going to wish you didn't put spar urethane . It will all need to be sanded out 100% ..before redoing . Only use teak oil or conditioner on teak . I'm refinishing 60 pieces right now and the cost is 3x more becouse someone used spar urethane .

You need to revarnish before it is obvious that you need to revarnish. Varnishing can keep your teak like new for almost ever. If your teak furniture is outside, keep it in the shade or covered and you won’t need to revarnish. Use varnish meant for boats. Don’t oil. Oil attracts mold and when mold gets ahold of your teak, you cannot cover the unsightliness with varnish and you will never rid it of the mold.

Love your work! I wish I had your skills. I picked up a water damaged headboard and footboard with a lot of wood showing signs of cracking. It has an elegant French look, very heavy, with the most gorgeous of curves and carvings. I was close to throwing it out but couldn’t. I see hope in it. If you have any suggestions to revive it, please advise. I appreciate your time and support!
