Thanks, Tommy! My flying is improving (slowly) all the time. I think the OX-22 is making me a better porch pilot all around. It's quick to get in the air. I take more risks because it's a little less expensive to repair. The shorter flight times keep me focused on a goal during the flight rather than just meandering around (which I do enjoy). It's fun to cycle through the different quads. They each have their own characteristics. Helps keep the hobby fresh and fun. Have a great week, amigo. 🫡 🍻

Thanks for watching, Tommy! Yeah, the weather station was a gift from a neighbor. I especially like the wind speed readings. Great info for porch pilots 😆. I turned that old wheelbarrow into a planter for the missus. She fills it with flowers in the spring. I put in a birdbath and irrigation, too. I hang a hummingbird feeder off the handle in the summer. I had a tree there, but two died in that spot. I'm not sure why. 😕 I think maybe the home builders contaminated the soil in that area. @@Sonic_Ox Yeah, the main thing we're enjoying this winter is daily soaking in the hot tub we installed late this summer. It's especially fun in single digit conditions or when it's snowing. Maybe Mrs. Ox needs one to more completely enjoy your glorious sunrises and sunsets!

@TommyTester Mrs. Ox and I grew up in rural SE Wyoming. Lots of snow, wind, and very low temps. A nearby town had natural hot springs. It was a fun thing to visit in winter. We have talked often about putting a hot tub on the back patio when the budget allows. I'm glad you're enjoying yours. A hot soak does a body good. Happy flying amigo. 🫡 🍻

I've thought about replacing the antenna in the Pocket, but this control link issue is only with one of four quads (OX-5) ... and it's happening with two different receivers that I've moved to different areas of the quad, moved antennas, insulated wires, etc...🤔😕 My next step is to buy a Nomad TX module and a Crossband/Gemini receiver. Then I'll be transmitting 900hz and 2.4Ghz at 1watt and true diversity on both bands. I think that's the best a guy can do with current technology and hardware.

@TommyTester Thanks for watching and commenting, Tommy. I only get about 3.5 minutes on the 550mah LiHV GNB batteries and about 2.5 to 3 minutes on the 550mah lipo Tattu. I'm still waiting on the 550mah Lava LiHV batts from BetaFPV. They claim over 6 minutes on those, but I'm doubtful. This little bugger is great fun, but I sure wish I could get around 5 minutes of flight. I'll keep at it, but I'll bet 4 minutes is gonna be absolute max. Happy flying, amigo. 🫡 🍻

@@Sonic_Ox Props are cheap, and I've enjoyed testing a range of them to measure noise and duration mainly, given like 4-6 identical new batteries. The results were interesting. I know the P20 uses a 2.2" custom Gemfan prop, but you might try others as their criteria for selection might not meet yours. I'm not sure if there are other 2.2" props out there, but here's my test on 2-inchers, which was won with HQ's 6 blade T51s. ruclips.net/video/VT91DGUhhFg/видео.html

Hey Tommy, In your opinion, what kind of flight times would you expect from a 2.2" running on 3s LiHV 550mah? I know you've had a lot of experience with quads in the 2" category. Are my expectations just too high? I really thought I would get around 5 minutes from the Pavo 20 Pro. I don't go below 3.5v per cell. Maybe others are taking them lower or shaving every gram of unnecessary weight to get better times...🤔

@@Sonic_Ox The closest comparison I have is data of 2.5" quads at near 250 grams, and with 3S450 it's at best 3:30. At 3S650 4 minutes.

@Sonic_Ox Thank you for the quick and detailed reply, Sonic! Unfortunately, I didn’t know about this, and I ended up crashing the drone, damaging a 7-inch propeller lol. I thought the Compass orientation was standard, with the connector pointing to the front of the drone. I’ll test with the CW180 direction in INAV 7.0 and adjust as needed. @JCSITAKA Hey JC, I'm still running INAV 7.0.0 on my 7". I just checked the magnetometer direction and it is CW 270° flip! My module is a Matek M10Q-5883 mounted on the back of the quad with the plug and wires running toward the front. Please let me know if this info helps. Happy flying, amigo. 🫡 🍻

@Dorff_Meister I finally have my Bee35 flying pretty well. I've had a lot of problems with it, but I've learned a lot. SpeedyBee was very keen to learn about the problems I've experienced with their products. I've had good luck with most of their stuff except their F405 mini stack and their Meteor LED control board. I could not get either of those products to work well with the Bee35. Have a look at Chris Rossers AOS frames when you're considering your next build, too. @TommyTester Thanks for watching, Tommy! Getting this little bird dialed in has been quite a saga. This is my first 3s build, and my trusty old Tenergy charger failed. The 3s balance port is not working and is giving me false information. It took me a while to figure out the problem, and I ruined two new batteries in the process...🤬 I have ordered a new charger that should arrive on Christmas Eve 🎄. The craft is flying well, and the problems have been with the charger/batteries. The 3d printed skids are working out well also. I'm only getting around 2 minutes 45 seconds flight time with new GNB 3s 550mah LiPo packs. I think when I get the replacement Lava LiHV packs, I'll get around 5 minutes. I'd be satisfied with that. @@Dorff_Meister Thanks Dorff! I'm still waiting on batteries since the two I got are defective. I can get about two minutes of flight out of one and about 6 seconds out of the other 😆. I flew the better one around a bit with the skids on and everything seemed fine. The skid only weighs a few grams and didn't break when I landed on it. I doubt it affects flight characteristics much, even with you acro guys. Time will tell. Thanks for watching. Merry Christmas, amigo 🎅 👍

The O3 is kind of horrible at night. Even flying at dusk with O3 can be challenging.

It is really cool at night. Like Dorff is saying, the 03AU is virtually impossible to fly in low light. I'm a decent line of sight pilot, so I can enjoy the lights, but LEDs on quads are more for the spectators than the pilots in my humble opinion. Sort of gimmicky but lots of fun. @Dorff_Meister Me too, Dorff! The tracking information was wild. Weirdest I've ever seen. I was genuinely concerned that it wouldn't be delivered correctly. Hopefully Betafpv improves that. I also hope they exchange these batteries because I love the little guy so far.

@@Sonic_Ox Yeah, hopefully they do. Shipping from China often has bizarre tracking. When my Pavo25 v2's LED strip was bad out of the box, they got one of the US shops (Pyro? RDQ?) to give me store credit for somewhat less than the cost of the bad LED strip. Hopefully they helpful in a reasonable timeframe.
