Great work w/ all this footage. Squirrels will insist on trying ad nauseum to get to feeders. I got a baffle and it instantly stopped them from messing w/ my feeder station. Also, pretty sure that is a Chipping Sparrow at 13:28. They have the black eye line and solid color bill whereas the Tree Sparrows have a rusty eye line and a bi-colored bill.

I'm going to try using my Crop-o-Dile to punch circles out of the CDs and do everything else the same. Then I'll use the little "buttons" as embellishments on my handmade cards. Thanks for the tips!

i used a model t spark gap and a train transformer on my feeder--tail stood up like a bottle brush !!

You can also boil the CDs for 3 minutes and the labels come off themselves. Less junk in the landfill.

It would work better if you added a ground wires between the HOT wires with fewer hot wires. Wood is a decent insulator so the electricity has to go through the squirrel then the wood post to return to the ground; in order to make the circuit. I was trying to keep cats out of my back yard, so I placed a hot wire along the top 2x4 of the wooden fence. A few days later I see a cat sitting on the pickets and pawing at the wire. All it was getting was a tingle not the high voltage shock that would result if it was grounded. So I added a 2nd wire about 1 inch from the insulated hot wire and connected it to the ground rod for electric fence. Never saw a cat touch the wire again or enter the yard.

Just a thought but double-sided tape? Or Doller store lint rolleres? Sticky but not too sticky, getting paint on it wouldn't be a big deal even put the tape on the inside lid of a shoe box and it could be used more than once and also storage.
