Any new updates on the Skeeter? Well over the past year i have more problems with my ZX-150, i have the front seat post hole collapsing like i had on the rear post back in 2022, ive had electrical issues that i had to fix myself. Last weekend i had some hay bailing wire wrap around the axle on the highway, my brake system for the passenger side got torn off from the wire being wrapped up and the tire got trashed. I know that this last incident was not a Skeeter MFG issue but man im NOT going to buy another skeeter product again.
Your an idiot
If i went with a skeeter boat the factory is rght up the road from me
I bought a 2018 zx250 new and never had a issue I think Skeeter will take of you and do what’s right
Sorry for all of the trouble you went through. I'm curious on n how things are going now? Any more issues?
You wanna sell it yet?
How much was your boat brand new?
Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've heard about the subpar quality of these boats. I love the engine but I'm gonna have to pass on the new Skeeters. You have alot more patience that i do. Paying that kind of money for a new boat with such crap quality is unacceptable. Quality control sucks there. Sorry about all of your issues man. 😡
Yep… I always loved skeeter and all the reviews were stellar… up until the year model i got. I met another local guy whos motor straight fell off. Skeeter sent him a new boat after that one
Man i love that Yam 150 SHO. I would recommend Yamaha all day but if someone asks me how is Skeeter Boats, i would tell them to stay far away from that place! Look up above on this discussion, i added a couple more problems i have had over the past year.
@@TheOkayOutdoorsmanDo you still have your ZX-150?
@@mp5kfisher241 I do!
Was the water real choppy? Seems like this boat is rocking around a lot more than it should be. Just curious not trying to be rude
Very much so. Lots of boats left before us
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman cool. Nice boat man
Update ?
Jesus Christ God’s Son Loves You !! Roman’s 10:9 KJV.
How do you keep them down when washing the truck?
Havent figured that out yet, i just crack a door and pressure wash it
Just put your foot on the board and shut the door. When done open door and close it they will go up.
How are these holding up?
wonderful!! Loving them every day
@TheOkayOutdoorsman put them on my tundra about 3 weeks ago. Not a huge fan of the magnetic trigger, but other than that they're great so far. Thanks for the info.
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman It's been another 9 months. How are they holding up now? I'm thinking of getting it for mine over the amp ones.
Makes me appreciate how my 2003 has none of these issues. Sucks to hear!
I just got my RC eboards the other day and the steps box is enormous and I thought your box looked a little small....I might be wrong but it looks like you got the extended cab steps and not the crew cab steps.....the crew cab steps are suppose to go all the way the length of both of your doors...yours look like they come up short...your steps should measure 83" to be crew cab steps
Hey! Thanks for the comment. I got mine when they were FIRST released and only offering one length
Does anyone know what the actual length of drop is?
Not sure. When I get home I’ll measure
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman I appreciate it sir, I’m currently comparing these against the rolling big power steps and so far them being half of the price is very tempting. Plus I like that they have 2 motors and don’t use the OBD port since I have my tuner plugged in 24/7
@@TheOkayOutdoorsmanany update on how they’re holding up?
@@zak_daddy8456 Wonderful!! No problems
😂13mm socket.😂😂
Shims not cut washers. Made to fine tune the separation of the motor and the truck.
You're correct. Those are shims to adjust alignment on the body if your mounting points aren't perfect due to manufacturing variances.
It is confusing because I'm doing it right now comes with no washers or lock washers just gonna use from my old steps
I'm pretty sure those washers are actually shims and 13mm is the size of the bolt not the socket size.
Do they connect into your obd connection?
No they use a magnetic sensor that goes inside of the door. Jamb on all four doors. They do not connect to the computer system at all, just the battery.
Man that sucks you have to go through all that. Just got me a used bass tracker till I can get a new boat. I like your videos and your the only one with good content on the zx150. That’s the boat I’m set on getting in about a year.
Great video. Would love to hear an update on the boat.
Just posted it recently!
Pretty boat !! What color package is that ??
Are the lights suppose to be faced down towards the ground? Or Horizontal?
They’re kind angled downward on their bracket, designed to face on the boars themselves.
Nice touch 👌🏻
I don't see an install video?
I went over some of it in the video, but it was hard to film the install itself because I was doing it mostly alone, with some help from a buddy, and we hit a few snags when disassembling the interior.
Man. Skeeter definitely cut cost with the z series. No frills no options and only the colors they say you can have…. Im out. Hoping the Kilgore boys come back to their senses.
What pitch prop are you running with that set up
Stock. Never had to look into anything or change anything, it runs great, hops right up on plane, good top speed.
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman thanks do you know what pitch I am repowering going to 4 stroke 150 SHO currently running 150 a Yamaha VMax 2 stroke thanks for your time
@@jefferylyons4774 I have no idea. I’ll check and get back to you.
How were the magnets to install and get lined up? I hear that is the biggest issue so far
Not an issue at all. To be honest, i guessed right the first time. i just kinda used the door catch and measured from there accordingly. Still no issues!
Great video. I was wondering about these and on the fence about buying, but I just placed my order after watching. Thanks!
I’ve been thinking about getting them. How are your running board doing right now any issues?
Have you been have you been to Erie?
Nice finally a video after months of looking lol
Nice finally a video after months of looking lol
had a few issues with my zxr. They have stood behind it. Good luck!!
I got to try these out myself
I think I'm going to try them I like this look better then they other ones
you should! No problems since video posted
I’m guessing skeeter handled all the issues you had?
Well… kinda.. barely…😅… The update video on that is coming soon.
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman I will keep my eye out for the update. Looking forward to it.

Intro music made me stop watching.
😂
Hey😂😂 I’ll take the feedback. I’m new here
What prop?
Stock. Haven’t really needed to mess with it al all
Any news on your boat status?
Believe it or not, I got a call from Skeeter today. She’s done! Should be back in 7-10 days
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman right on glad to hear that
So you bought a new boat and will be getting a refurbished one . That doesn’t make sense to me . They should replace yours , fix the bad one and sell it at a reduced price .
Exactly… thats where I’m at
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman I hope this works out in the best form for you . This was a very hard video to watch due to the aggravation it causes . Skeeter should totally step up and replace your boat . You did your part in purchasing now they need to do what was agreed on and deliver you a new boat not a refurbished one .
@@user-xm8rf6ik7b Thank you, its been a painful experience. At this price point, and ANY price point, it should not be a problem. However, from everyone ive talked to, this is a common happening across all manufacturers (Skeeter, nitro, etc). Even worse? Theres another guy in my comments with the same exact issues, to the MEASUREMENT. Hopefully they help him too.
i just bought this 2023 zx150.. You mentioned that you should have caught some of this stuff doing the inspection. I haven't picked mines up yet. What should i check specifically?
everything. loose hardware, fiberglass soft spots, everything. The whole everything.
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman I already noticed the wiring is not watertight.. the fiberglass soft spots is something that I'm not familiar with. Other than, that do you think that the boat is pretty good overall? I traded in an RT178 for this fiberglass option. I'm beginning to think that I should have stayed with aluminum boats at this point.
@@tyronne875 Oh i love the boat. Wiring is something everyone hates about skeeter. I recommend whatever connectors you absolutely hate, use marine rated self-soldering heat shrink connectors.
Check your state laws into “LEMON” laws. My state covers vehicles and boats.
I feel your pain! My 2022 ZX-150 went back to Skeeter for fiberglass work on the back seat post area. I shipped my boat back with flush mount “POS” Humminbird Helix 5’s and 2 power poles. I also put the travel cover on and was hoping i would get it back. It took skeeter around 3 weeks to fix my seat fiberglass issue. FYI i bought mine in sept/october 2021 but boat model was a 2022. I will have to check my underside of the boat a little better.
I took my travel cover off when I got to the dealer, they warned me about that.
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman that was a good idea! Im lucky i got mine back. Hey good luck with the boat repair and keep us updated on the process.
@@mp5kfisher241 I will for sure, and as sad as it sounds, they had a brand new 2023 FXR21 APEX had visible fiberglass issues on the showroom. Which, again, is a Skeeter issue.
Did you custom order boat from Skeeter or what? Thinking about getting same model.
Nope. Dealer stock
How's the SHO holding up...,any problems
None at all. Runs flawless
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman Awesome....love the color
You can disable it in your unit settings
Thanks!!!
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman or put in how many seconds you want it to stay I leave mine 10 seconds than it goes away
@@shariciacchi2401 Definetly will have to change it.
When you uploading again
Soon! I still have unedited footage from last season. Posted a boat update video, so thats kind of a crutch for most new videos, but I’m working on it
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman good! Cant wait
Whats the diffrence between this and the zx190 im looking at a loaded out 2019 zx190 with the 150 on it is there any difference between these two boats?
Its the same boat. Skeeter changed the name. They’re both 18.5-19 foot long, 150hp. It used to be the ZX150 back in the day, and they brought the name back.
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman gotya thanks for the answer
@@TheOkayOutdoorsman also is this boats storage water proof
