Nice
Wow man I learn a lot !!!!! please more video like this, you are awesome !
What is the outro music? Its so cool. Reminds me of snes mega-man x music
Love it, but what about the whole unity thing?
Yeah. I recorded the audio for this vid like 2 months ago. Havent really worked on the game since. In the mids of a smaller side project right now, but when I get back to the detective game probally gonna move over to unreal as most the game is just on paper rather than in engine at the mo. It takes me ages to do anthing yt wise so prob wont have an update on that for like 6-8 months
Obra Dinn sounds cool, and a project inspired by it also sounds cool. I like games that go beyond just action 24/7
Very exited about the game not many games in that themes but if you are looking for like some kind of inspiration you should check out shadows of doubt anotyer detective game. Exited for progress keep up the good work
Do you think you could make a tutorial on your player controller, the movement seems really smooth just like in celeste and I've been trying to recreate that . i would love to see a tutorial on this. :)
So I've already planned the content of my game (atleast the demo part). Its a turn based battle rpg system and its narrative driven so its separated into many chapters. Each chapter is an enclosed world of its own. There is more writing involved than actual gameplay. I've not tried to implement too many mechanics yet. Idk if I will encounter the same problem or not. Not only have I never made a game before, I've never really even tried. Also do you have a discord server? Maybe find the right people to work with you who can help you for the scope of this project? Like level designers, writers, more devs?
It's important that you learned something new and it will help you with your future projects. I wish you success with your new 3D game - it will be a lot of work and I wouldn't dare to do it myself as I stick with making 2D games for now. Anyway, nice video. I'm interrested in seeing more. :) - Dan
Haha what a nice channel and underrated i hope you'll get bigger as soon as possible. Also nice game
Since you're using 3D now, here's the best piece of advice I can give you: USE ASSETS! It saves a colossal amount of time, and time is money. I guess you should just use free stuff if you're not confident in completing this project, but otherwise, just pay the couple hundred dollars that will save you a couple hundred hours.
DO I FUCKING HEAR OUTER WILDS SOUND TRACK?!
I like your video style! Black & white is the way to go for characters
Disco Elysium does that to you
I wanna make a game too one day. And I'm pretty sure I'll mess up tremendously in this department. Oh no....
nice
I ADORE the style of this video, and can't wait to see how your next game turns out! Take it from a fellow tv head game designer, you got some real talent
Wtf you got talent. I thought it was a full game with how clean it looked. Keep it up and can’t wait for more.
That sounds like a really cool idea actually
That's a really good character model, and I think that it's really neat! However, I'd rig the fingers to allow more realistic expressions. You made the good choice of not showing a face on your character, so you don't have to animate that, but because of that, you now have to provide expression some other way, such as with your hands. You already did a great job with your arms and torso, but there are only so many expressions you can do with just arms and no hands. And on the subject of burnout: My approach to burnout is to set myself a schedule, so I don't spend too much time working on one thing and getting almost no progress done. If you set yourself a schedule and get a lot of things done, the game probably won't look as polished as you'd like it to yet, but seeing progress is a good motivator. Introducing a second person to look at your work and leave feedback can also be a very good source of motivation, even if your product isn't at the standards that you'd like it to be at.
it is frustrating to put aside a big project, but as you put it, precise planning gives you the scope of what you can do on your own, and what you need help for. For bigger solo indie project, I like the modular approach that was proposed in a devlog (cant remember which), in which you make one gameplay loop (so very quick) that has all the systems in it, and then expand. So you can have only boxes as a level, simple model and animations, but you can get the feel for your game with only a little part made, and then creating more levels is reusing the tested system with other models. Beats the "I'll implement this later" that retroactively destroys all other systems
cool video! great job. the game looked cool
average pyro enjoyer, average code bullet viewer
that gravity flip looks so clean
Really like this vid! I havent seen your channel before, but this has got me subbed for more
please marry me
My man, how did you go about creating this cinematic? It looks absolutely amazing. Good luck with the new game. Can't wait to see more.
im guessing he made it with rotoscopping
You need to build a team and make a game no doubt about it
You are super cool!! :D
"im gettin distracted" hahah loved that bit xD
yesssssssss
If you ever go back to the 2d metroidvania genre I recommend taking momodora reverie under the moonlight as a refrence since the game contains about 9 areas and the largest area has less than or about 50 assets to draw. Oh and if you don't mind sharing the abandoned project's map I call dips!
Oh and I love the new mascot!
hope the best for your future endeavors, can't wait to see your future projects.
well, sometimes you just need to take a step back as long as you take two steps foreword next keep it up I'm cheering for you
bro why are u so underrated...
That's an impressive game for such a short amount of time. That lighting and bloom came out stunning too!
Nice Avatar Animation 👍👍👍
"Promo sm"
Please add the marshmellows. You could let the character create them from the blue power he's got!
Without checking the likes/views, I watched this video thinking this was like ig what you would call a "high end channel" and video with a bunch of subscribers and views (no offense), but I came back because I wanted to watch more and HOW DOES THIS HAVE ONLY 300 VIEWS?? You make such high quality content and so it surprised me to see you're not that big. I'm wanting to also start my own indie project so I'm appreciative to see smalltime content like yours and it further motivates me. Glad this reached my algorithm. Keep it up!
My man, it looks soo polished. Took me 23 minutes tho 🥲
I see you are also an auto tile truther. Unity calls them rule tiles but screw that, that name sucks. Auto tiles all the way, baby.
itch must add a feature that filter jams by the prizes >:D
I'm not sure if I would call this progression, you just copy pasted everything while watching the tutorials, I've been there too, now if you try to do them again on your own without looking at the tutorials and post your results again, we'll see a huge difference and probably it would take you twice the time if not longer, good job though.
This is so cool haha! Curious where this will go! I'm a indie dev myself, looking forward for your journey! +1 sub! :D
those resources look like you're picking up grenades lol
Your style art so nice. It's great. Keep going bro.
nice progress!
Do you accept voice acting demos for your projects or do you voice all your characters?
I know you said it's blue energy reminds me of ice
