Can’t wait ✈️ I did notice Str’Eats of Aloha right next to Mar Del Plata , they are on my list 😋 The Mar Del Plata , the bread roll looked like a baguette style and at $20 it’s a bit pricy. The sandwich from Mar Del Plata came with fries but we asked them to leave out as we were going to be trying so many spots so know they’re included in the $20. The meats were also nice thick quality slices of meat so a bit understandable on the price. Nyam Nyam is at the Honolulu Harbor Nights on Fridays so you should be able to try her street food when you two go!! As always thank you both for your continued support!! See you two soon!!

    • @michellejosefoodandtravel
      @michellejosefoodandtravel 2 месяца назад

      Hi Mo - sorry for the late response. Unfortunately since it is an auction the prices vary from day to day based on a number of factors such as how many boats brought in fish, what kind of fish was caught, and the quantity of the type of fish. Also the quality of each individual fish differs even if it's the same type of fish. We also didn't hear much of the auction portion itself as we had headphones on to hear our tour guide as he was providing information during the tour about the fishing industry in Hawai'i. We've heard prices can typically range from $9 - $25/lb again based on the type of fish (Big Eye Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, striped Marlin, opakapaka, ono, swordfish, and so on). You should go check it out for yourself if you have the opportunity and are in Hawai'i!!

      Hi Ro - so sorry for the late response. Wow that's really awful you got sick trying Giovanni's. So sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with it. Definitely try the many other places though for Garlic Shrimp as other places have their own take and spin on it (Jenny's Shrimp Truck, Big Wave Shrimp, Romy's, Tanaka Kahuku Shrimp, Da Bald Guy, Ono Steaks and Shrimp Shack, etc...). Thank you for sharing your experience and for also stopping by the channel!!

    If you go back to Johnnies make sure you get the sandwich baptized. Also get the combo sandwich instead of beef only. Also their Lemon Ice is best around. Thanks for the video.

      Hi Charles!! Yes we're definitely planning to get it juicy/dipped/baptized on our next trip back!! We were wondering about the combo when we were looking at the menu during our research and wondered how it was. Adding it to our list well. Yes hands down the Italian Ice was a perfect way to wrap up our savory beef and especially that hot Chicago day!! Thank you for stopping by the channel and for sharing your go to's!!

    Chorizo spices are regional, so European spices might be a bit different to Texas, but usually you look at smoked Paprika, salt, ground chilli (I use Ancho), garlic powder, dried oregano and ground cumin. Onion powder is also common. Food looks awesome. Mum used to love tripe (it used to be quite big in Europe), but I always hated the texture.

    • @michellejosefoodandtravel
      @michellejosefoodandtravel 4 месяца назад

      Hi Richard! We looked it up...pretty similar spices overall. Are you planning to experiment and make some? If so let us know how it turns out. Tripe is definitely not for everyone but when made right...it's really good. It's also used in a few Filipino dishes as well such as Goto (Filipino version of congee/rice porridge) and Kare-Kare (peanut butter stew with oxtails and other vegetables). As always thank you for your continued support!! Hope all is well on the other side of the pond!!

    Hi guys 👋 That was a big episode! From 101F to rain what a crazy day. We loved all the food choices and that chicken with a CRUNCH I was salivating 😋 One thing I get amazed at ,is it the line up / drive thru like that donut place, I’m guessing you were amazed by it to because you filmed the drive thru lol 🚙 I would definitely get the HUGE donut , who wouldn’t , it’s not something you see every day. Another good episode , cheers Rod and Gem 🤙

      Hi Rod and Gem!! Texas weather is definitely wild. We seriously don't think eating chicken wings will ever be the same now after the wings from Tommy Want Wingy!! Yes when we pulled up to Round Rock Donuts we couldn't believe the line up at both the walk in and the drive thru. The lines where long but they were really doing such a great job moving them quickly. GO BIG or GO HOME we said to one another and honestly finishing the donut wasn't as much of a struggle as we thought it would be bc it was just so fluffy and airy. We can't wait to her our hands on Agnes though!! LOL We hope you two are getting more and more excited for your trip!! Cannot wait to see you both soon!! Thank you so much for your continued support!!

      Hi Paul!! We've heard some state fairs have something similar but really curious if the texture and flavor is similar to Round Rock. Looks like we'll have to investigate further and also try the maple bacon!! LOL Is it the San Diego County Fair? If so looks like we missed this year so will see about visiting it next year!! OMG those tortillas look pillowy soft llike the tortillas my co-worker snuck for me from HEB in San Antonio. He is Mexican and also taught me how to make carne guisada and gave me a spice mix to make it. I love all of that stuff! I can't do menudo though due to the tripe, but love pozole. And what a trio! I love bbq, kim chi and chili! And burgers, wings and more tacos. I'd leave TX double the weight LOL Mahalo for showing me all the great joints in Austin. You guys are so lucky with all those food choices.

      @michellejosefoodandtravel 4 месяца назад

      Hi Misty! Did you know that HEB makes butter tortillas now? They are on another level!! Will add it to our list of omiyage to bring. Carne guisada is my favorite (Michelle's) and Jose's mom makes it so well. Trip is definitely not for everyone, but we enjoy it when its cooked well of course. My mom (Michelle) uses it in a few Filipino dishes too such as Goto (a Filipino version of congee that has a ginger-based broth garnished with fried garlic, green onions, and calamansi juice) and Kare-Kare (Filipino stew made with oxtail, eggplant, green beans, bok choy, and peanut butter). Honestly neither of us have tried pozole but it's on our never-ending list. The way you feel about leaving Texas double the weight is EXACTLY what happens to us when we visit Hawai'i every time!! We think you need to make a trip to Texas the next mainland trip you plan!! Mahalo for your continued support Misty and CONGRATS on over 20K!! Keep going!!
