Dirty Money metal detecting
США
Добавлен 26 май 2015
Welcome to Dirty Money metal detecting! Follow us as we treasure hunt for old coins, tokens, relics, gold and silvery jewelry and more. Check out our vids for metal detecting tips and tricks or check out the cool stuff we pull out of the ground while metal detecting. You will find us detecting old homes, home steads, parks, schools, rivers, lakes and beaches. I started detecting with the AT Pro and what a great machine it was. I used it for about 6 years eventually graduating to the AT Max. I decided to buy the Minelab Equinox 800 for my wife. This changed everything for me. I tried her machine on the beach in Washington and it was super quiet while my Garrett machines were falsing like crazy. I got home and tried hers in the park and boom. Gold ring on the first day. Since then I have learned the Minelab and what a great machine it is. I have Stealth beach scoop which helps me reach targets out in the rivers, lakes and beaches.

Metal detecting long forgotten homesteads never gets old! Ep 325
Nothing is more exciting than finding a new old homestead or cellar hole. Just finding an old site that's long been forgotten is a treasure in and of itself. You never know what you are going to find. I love seeing the old rock walls and foundations. If you get lucky you might even find an old bottle laying on top of the ground. The real magic happens when I bust out my Minelab Equinox metal detector armed with the mini coil. It's not going to be long now before I unearth an amazing relic, coin, token, jewelry, button, suspender clip or some other amazing treasure from the past. With every dig I learn more about who lived out here in the wild west. Every item found is a clue to their occu...

Relics everywhere! Going back to an old homestead to metal detect. Ep 324

Sometimes you go back to a site that you have beat to death only to hit find a bunch of treasure that you missed. There are lots of scenarios that create these circumstances. I feel like metal detecting with a mini coil increases your chances of finding relics, coins, tokens, jewelry and other treasure that you missed before. In this case I was parking on top of it.

Once you dig enough of these old homesteads you start getting some repeat relics, but one of my favorite things to find is old tokens. In this episode we find several old tokens. One is from a known whorehouse. It's kind of fun to imagine the debauchery that took place at that establishment back when outlaws, miners, sheep herders and other unsavory characters attended such places. There is not...

It is always fun to find an old site that hasn't been metal detected yet. In this episode of Dirty Money metal detecting we find almost everything at this old home site. There are relics, toys, coins, tokens and jewelry everywhere. I am using my Minelab Equinox 800 and Dinwiddie is using the Equinox 900.

Mini coil unlocks more treasure from hard hit homesteads. These little sniper coils will help you find treasure in high iron spots. It never seems to fail. I am always shocked what else I find when I metal detect a place with the small coil that I've already grided out with my regular coil. I'm always think how'd did I miss that? In this episode I find a really neat token, old coins and plenty ...

Treasure hunting old homesteads where pioneers, outlaws, cowboys, sheep herders and farmers settled. I have metal detected these spots in the past, but are they hunted out? We are going to be dirt fishing with our Minelab Equinox 800 and 900 metal detectors. Here's a few tips on how to find more treasure at sites that have been hunted hard. Use a mini coil with your recovery speed up all the wa...

Come along as we search old homesteads with our metal detectors for treasure! This treasure hunting video is loaded with artifacts, relics, coins, jewelry, tokens and other vintage and antique things. Metal detecting is such a cool hobby. You never know what is going to happen out there in the deep woods of Montana. I bump into a badger fight and I get it on film. Hope you guys enjoy it!

The bears are on the move! In my last video we found a sow bear with three cubs up a tree. This time we see a black bear sow with 1 cub and a cinnamon bear with 2 cubs in the same day. It really adds to my metal detecting day to see such cool wildlife at these old homesteads. It also helps put it in perspective what life was like here in the Wild West of Montana in the late 1800s. We only have ...

Exploring the past and saving history is my favorite hobby. In this episode of Dirty Money metal detecting we start our treasure hunt at an old sheep herder's ranch. The beautiful old rock foundation is still intact. On my way home I stop and detect a lone boulder and boom! I can hardly believe what I find. Then we stop by an old gold miners cabin to do a little treasure hunting. Hopefully we w...

I bet we drove past this old homestead a hundred times without ever noticing it. The road was built right through it making it really hard to find. Who knew there was a bunch of history ready to be saved right next to the road. We aren't the only metal detectorists who missed this treasure trove of antique and vintage relics from the past. This metal detecting spot seems to be untouched. The be...

It doesn't always work out! In this episode we start metal detecting at a new site. After digging for treasure we realize that this old home site is just not that old. Time to explore and look for clues to hopefully find an older spot so we can save some history. We find an old road hoping it leads us to treasure. There is a downed tree and I can see that some treasure has grown into it. Then I...

How many times have you tried so hard to get a permission on an amazing old and historic site, only to find out it's already been hunted out by other metal detectorists? The key is finding less obvious places to metal detect. I give a great tip for finding old homesteads that haven't been hit. This old homestead is loaded with treasure, tokens, toys, relics, coins and jewelry. I even find a sma...

Perfect grazing land, but where is the homestead? Surely, somebody set up a ranch here. Finding old sites to metal detect for treasure isn't always easy. We completely missed this old sheep ranch last year, but I found it on some historic aerials. Those can be great tools to help you find spots to metal detect. The grass is much lower this time of year, which helped me find this sweet spot. I could see what looked like a row of rocks. I grabbed my binoculars and gave it a look. Sure enough it was an old rock foundation! Nothing is more exciting than finding a virgin metal detecting spot. So I grabbed my Minelab Equinox 800 and started to swing my coil. I love metal detecting old homesteads. Sometimes the buildings are there which is so fun to see, but is easy for other metal detectorists to find. Lots of the time these epic historic structures have been detected and you are better off looking for somewhere else to dig. Other times there are few clues that an old homestead existed there and it is easier found from old maps or historic aerials....

I’ll be there next week with my Legend
great vid thanks man
nice ring and great seal button
NEVER GIVE UP NEVER SURRENDER NICE TIME OUT
NICE AREA
Nice hunting. I'm in Washington State now and heading south in the morning.
Nice work guys, congrats on all the nice finds
Your Northern Pacific is a Button cover that would slide over a regular 2 or 4 hole button. the inside should slide around which is how it gets locked on.
Thanks for the help on that!
We enjoy your vids. We have been in the hobby for 3 decades and enjoy seeing others having fun. But our family was sitting here watching this video and my son said "look at all the holes he dug and didnt fill in, it looks like prairie dogs tore the ground up"! And he was right, it looks as though you dug up an entire old homeplace and left the holes open. That right there can be one of the main reasons we are losing access to new detecting areas. Locals and govt agencies wont put up with that type of neglegence. We are saying this to help you and others in the future, not complaining, just letting you know thats not good and should be addressed. Keep up the good videos, and we hope to see more soon.
Awesome video and hunt

That thing that looks like a game piece is a paper coallar stud 😊

Interesting finds!
Soke it in apple cider vinegar
What region of Montana I live over in Townsend and enjoy metal detecting as well great videos
I live by Flathead Lake. I bet you've got some great sites out there?
Finally heading west on the 15th. Unfortunately, I won't have time to stop by. Good luck on your hunts.
i found a super crusty token like that and i had to do a week+ of vinegar soaks, baking soda scrubs, and brushes with hot water n dish soap, along with tooth picking and finally got it to a point i could read it !
I'll definitely be working on it! Happy hunting
thanks ! gettin out for a short hunt this evening at my most hammered elementary before my work week kicks off tomorrow 😢 lol
About what time of year? I may be going sometime at the end of this year. Super excited! Thanks!
This was during the winter months. Good luck!
@@DirtyMoneymetaldetectingthanks! Looking at going in October. Any particular area of the beach you feel is more productive? North or middle or south? I go to tybee about every other year but this is my first year doing metal detecting
Nice finds, Hello from the Ozarks.
Thanks Todd! I miss that area.
Got to be the most unusual site and probably one of the best days you fellows ever had
Yeah it's pretty embarassing how many times we have driven right thru it. Lol
Lots of cool finds!
Thanks!
That was a good day out for you both. I hope you can get back on that permission!
Thanks Jerry! I'm sure that'll be no problem.
I have the Grip with cattle head and part of the revolver frame of that same model cap gun. I probably have about 60 pieces of various cap guns. But in 30+ years I still don't have a complete one. Hopefully soon I can hit one that's not been chopped up by a mower or tractor. Nice find!
I have a few complete cap guns, but not that style.
Lighters were close because you found the old clothes line
I just found your channel. I'm in Montana as well. South of Helena
nice hunt ! glad ur back !
Thanks Scott!
Welcome back
Thanks Mark!
I was beginning to think you and dinvitty found a stash of gold double eagles and skipped town. Glad to see you back and nice finds! I scored an 1830 Large cent in Lake Huron the other day something I never thought I would find in Michigan, I'm stoked! Good luck out there guys!
Thanks Max! Summer is my busy season. We didn't get out as much, but I've definitely got a few episodes headed your way.
The item at 2:25 looks like either a penlight or a keychain light.
Agree!
Nice finds!
So glad you’re back!
Thanks! Good to be back. What a busy hot summer. I did get some digging in, but didn't find time to put up the episodes. The good news is that episodes are up coming. Lol
You can't use motorized or electronic equipment(including diamond testers) in the park.
Which park city, state or Fed?
i read a black light might help identify sapphires
From my experience, about 30 percent of sapphires are luminescent.
Best bet is an xrf machine if you have a coin dealer near by he might be able to help you out mine has it tests the metal content of any metal really cool technology honestly for testing for fakes in coins mainly
That's great idea!
Just started using the 900. Wow the sensitivity on these things is insane
I haven't tried it yet. Do you think the seperation is better in iron?
I am trying to find out your location by the background. You need to give me more details so I can can go grab all the stuff you miss....lol
Well I've got to say I certainly miss stuff, but as the person who digs behind myself the most, I'd say it's quite discouraging. Lol
Look like 1930's through 50's stuff
Most of these homesteads were abandoned in the 30s. The are like 1890-1930
This is a complaint. You need to learn to control your Camera better have the time you got something in your hand but it’s not in the picture and almost always you’re holding it in your hand and it’s out of focus. Other than that I like your videos.
Yep, I'm much better at detecting than filming. Hopefully I improve eventually. Lol Although that is video 102 and I'm now on 322.
Poor Irish farm.
Any particular reason you specifically think Irish?
@@DirtyMoneymetaldetecting I've never met a rich Irish person. We're all poor
This is nothing. I worked with a welder in the automotive industry who buried coffee cans of money in his city neighborhood back yard. WHY? Because he didn't trust banks or credit unions. When this welder announced his retirement and was moving out to the country where he purchased acres of land. I stopped by his city house one day and found him in his back yard with a shovel resting on his shoulder. The welder was looking around with his back to me, when I sneaked up and asked him if he forgot where he buried some of his coffee cans. He turned around with a surprised facial expression in his face. Mr. Welder responded by saying that he indeed forgot where some of the coffee cans of cash he buried. I told him that after he moves, I'm renting a backhoe and completely dig up his backyard to find the missing cash filled coffee cans. The Welder guy looked really upset that I would come back after he's gone, and dig up his former backyard. 😂
Definately turned out to be nothing. Someday.......
I bought a purple sapphire & pink cabochon rubies ring. The rubie glow bright redy orange under uv but the back of them glow green and so do spots on the metal near then what coul cause that? TIA
Sorry no clue
Rhat mentholatum bottle is a sweet find. Love finding milk glass
I wish I found more bottles at these sites.
I lost a black hills gold ring in a small swim area on tunbs hill when I was 16 and it was a 16th bday gift. I always wanted to go looking for it
Careful detecting is super addictive! Lol
Have you ever search a site that has already been detected? Happened the other day to me.... Was excited to detect it as the city just plowed the lot where there was an old 40's house that was bulldozed about 20 years ago. Only found a new dime and a penny. I can only guess that someone beat me to it!
BTW, you might want to add some video tags as you will pick up more clicks from search. Also more relevant keywords in the first 200 characters of your description will help too. Hash tags are best keep at the end of your description and not in the title. : )
That's happened to me tons of times. Sometimes they just grab the high tons, which is great. Lots of great stuff in the midtones.
@DirtyMoneymetaldetecting Sometimes you need to dig it all. What detector do you swing?
