I Caught the Biggest Bass in this Kayak Bass Fishing Tournament 👀
I fished the NVKBA Trail Stop #6 on the Tidal Rappahannock River. The fishing was tough but I managed to get 4 keepers, including a 19.5" GIANT that won the Big Bass trophy. I lost one at the boat that was a heartbreaker... must have been at least 17" and would have changed the course of my tournament but I still finished 7th overall. Wacky rig and chatterbait were the go-to baits and it seems you can't beat them on tidal waters.

I fished the NVKBA Trail Stop #5 on the Upper Potomac River. The water level was super low and I caught a ton of Smallmouth, but the only problem was most of them were too small to even count !

I fished the NVKBA (Northern Virginia Kayak Bass Anglers) Trail Stop #4. Join me as I compete in a very wet tournament on the beautiful Shenandoah River. This was a smallmouth only tournament and I was blessed to get 5 keepers which put me at 14th overall in the tournament. I was super excited about my finish given that I really don't have much experience on the Shenandoah River. Smallmouth are so much fun to catch !

I fished a NVKBA kayak bass tournament on the Potomac River and WON with a total of 90.25". The bite was incredible and I got all my fish on a combination of a chatterbait and lipless crankbait. Fishing the Season Opener with NVKBA on Lake Anna... I got 4 big bass and placed 6th overall with just 4 fish ! Everyone else had 5 fish limits. I realized that after the fact. I also have started experimenting with changing split rings into braided line to reduce the leverage that fish can get on the hook

This was in the Belmont Bay / Occoquan River area of the Potomac. There were definitely boats around but I found some areas that still had plenty of space to fish

What kind of Jig was it? Because you were retrieving it slow like a swim jig but it wasn't. All these jigs confused me on the retrieving
I was using a Beast Coast Lil Magnum 1/2oz jig in green pumpkin, and using a strike king rage grub as trailer
I was dragging it real slow on the bottom and that was pretty much the only way I could get bites. Sometimes I like to drag the jig versus more jigging up and down, I think it imitates a real crawfish

It was! The wind kicked up mid day too and added to the difficulty a bit with boat positioning. Lots of fishing pressure from bass boats too. But so much fun
