In Unreal Engine 5.4, I couldn't get the new motions to work until I went to the Project Settings and under Engine - Enhanced Input -> Default Mapping Contexts I added the IMC_SmoothLocomotion. Before that, even though everything else was setup correctly in the PMI the move controls were not working. Hope this helps someone, because took me a few hours to figure out why the inputs were not registering (except the Snap Turn but that was in the IMC_Default).

Great video as always. It's a shame that MetaXR for Unity is far ahead compared to the version for Unreal Engine. I hope that in the future they include all the features and samples available in Unity.

Hello, When I connect Meta Quest 3 to PC, Hands tracking not working at all and only works with Controllers, So I cannot do any interaction via hands in PCVR in desktop, Unreal Engine, etc, all settings I read across internet are active and configured but immediately when I do Meta Link only works with Controllers, What should I do? A have a question please: in the OculusXRHand component, there's a Material Override option, right? So, I want to add my own hand texture there but it seems to me that there's no skeleton mesh of the hands with UV maps to be exported so I can be able to use it as a model in order to map my own hand texture on it. Is there a way to access and export the skeleton mesh of the hands?
you need to map an exhisting skeletal mesh to the bone system and then you can modify it.
For MAC users. Meta XR ist not working with UE5.4 yet. Use the integrated VR Add-on instead. Otherwise your app would crash immediately after starting on oculus quest.

Hi! I need an advice for a project I'm working on.. have you (or someone here) ever experience with 180° dual lenses camera videos? I'm trying to figure out how to translate two different outputs for each eye in the vr
FWIW - went through the same pain. I had to completely pull out OpenXR from the mix (plugin) and then everyhting worked per other examples. Start with a fresh project and walk through steps with MetaXR plugin alone. Not ideal when using the VR Template as a launchpad.

The movement works wonders but the position seems to be kind of 2ft above the ground plane like it feels like floating rather than touching the floor.....How do we fix this????
Is multi modal mode (one hand, one controller) available yet?
Yeah, we take a look towards the end of the stream where I get it setup to switch between. Only thing you need to figure out is how to hide the motion controller models when hands are in use.
Not in UE. Maybe in a future plugin version
@@GDXR I think Matthew is referring to the simultaneous use of hand tracking and controllers, not that you can switch between them

What's wrong with planar reflections in 5.4 I've never heard of any issues with it.
@@GDXR it doesn’t seem to render correctly after building to the headset. One eye works correctly and the other eye has incorrect alignment or doesn’t render at all. It seemed to work in 4.27 and I haven’t been able to get it working correctly since then. Thanks for the response.

You could say that the right meta hand doesn't know what the left leap hand is doing. Thanks for sharing, handy to know. Glad you found the cause.

What happened at the 5:00 mark? Your screen just magically changed to something that I do not have, and cannot re-create. Drag it into the blueprint? What does that mean? I didn't see you drag anything. It just looks like you clicked on the BP_VideoButton and a new screen magically appeared. This interface is confusing enough without speed through or editing steps.

Your Tutorial and The Way you explain it is Incredible. I have watched a ton of videos and your are by far the best I have seen. I have a question. I know that you can add lights to a Deployable Item and use a Light Switch to turn on and off lights. Can you create a blueprint that Uses a Deployable Switch to Turn On and Off Lights on a Buildable Piece? Buildable is a Light attached to a Floor, Wall, Ceiling pieces and Deployable is like a Light or Lamp.
Hello, We use UE 5.4.2 and enables Meta XR and all requirements but Meta quest 3 not working in UE Editor on play mode, but it works when I package Windows EXE File, what is the problem?
You need to make sure you use vr preview, not just play view. If your already doing that. Disable the open xr eye tracking and openxr hand tracking plugins.
