A couple comes to mind; Maiden's "Where Eagles Dare", Metallica's "Master of Puppets", Accept's "Restless and Wild", Dream Theater's "6:00" from the Awake album, just to name a few.... cheers and be well

Dismember - Override of the Overture Judas Priest - Ram it Down Kiss - I stole Your Love. Kreator - Extreme Aggression. Marillion - Script for a Jesters Tear. Rush - Subdivisions Sadus - Certain Death. Ozzy - Miracle Man.

Great idea for a new thread Tom! I think there's a lot of albums where the opening track is the best on the album. I think I'd agree with Slayer, Bolt Thrower and Testament, even though I do really enjoy those albums! Great to see the cat again, orbeit just for the intro! The idea may be simple but the execution is tough. I can´t think of any album from the top of my head now where the opening track is my fave. Not a single one... I´ll find some in the end, I promise! Crimson Glory just played a headlining show around the corner from where I live in front of 2000 fans. Of course I didn´t even bother to go, hahaha... my girlfriend went instead of me...

So many great albums and so many great songs. I agree with most of these.

I remember when she came on the scene in the late 80's and read a few interviews with her in various metal magazines and found her persona too abrasive for me to even give her a chance. I mean, in these interviews she was insulting Slayer and Metallica, saying their solos sucked and were simple. Like, FFS, when you're the new kid on the block, you DON'T throw shade at the legends. You just don't. I read those interviews and thought "Well, f*ck this b*tch" And really, she's a fast guitarist, but other than that, she's just another really good guitarist *among many* in metal.

Some more great finds there Thomas. Yeah your right about having to listen to reign in blood as a whole album, it definitely sounds best listened to that way.

Great update there Thomas. Yeah that Venom is excellent and probably agree it's the slightly better album over black metal. Cool to see Poison and Dokken, both good albums, I didn't expect to see those. Enjoy the new music.

Almost 30 years ago, I ended up talking with a German and a Greek collector, and, being Colombian, they asked me what I knew about Kraken. That was weird, that they even knew the band. Later I realised Kraken was known by a very few European underground collectors, and that they had discovered the band when there was no Internet. These German and Greek collectors, I started sending them CDs from the band, until one day, in a flea market in Bogotá, I found that vinyl album you’re holding, in a very poor condition. Still, I decided to send it to him as a surprise, since it was so hard to find. He was the happiest Greek on earth, he really loved the band. And something odd was that they said they loved the vocals in Spanish, even though they couldn’t understand anything… They said there was something to it that they really appreciated. Just a story you made me think about. This was a really cool video to watch 🤘🏼🔥🇨🇴

Hi Thomas!!! Well done and cool to see this more "obscure" bands...... and yes Rata Blanca is the biggest "hard rock", "heavy metal" in this area of the world. "Magos, Espadas y Rozas" and the two big songs from that release are amazing "hits", Walter Giardino is a cross between Yngwie and Blackmore, imo and yes they had one album sang in English, (Forgotten Kingdom) they "hired" Doogie White just for that release...... I watched the episode Metal School did on them and it was a nice surprise to see them feature there. Never heard about Kraken i will check them out. cheers and be well

Rata Blanca is big in southamerica, i will say that the song Mujer amante is even listen by people that is not into Hard rock or heavy metal. and i gonna check out the korean band. a few Albums you should check from south america Riff- VII (1985 Argentina) V8 - Luchando por el metal (1983 Argentina) Anthares - No Limite da Força (Brasil 1987) Torturer - Opressed by the force (Chile 1993) Sadism - Tribulated Bells (Chile 1991) mostly of the records in south america were demos or eps, Brasil were like an exception in the region they have a lot of thrash metal albums from the 80s and early 90s and few heavy metal bands. Greatings from Chile.

If you like kraken, you should listen megaton or ramses, bouth a mexican heavy metal bands from the 80’s

Tublatanka is classic hard rock - heavy metal band + Czechia heavy metal band Citron . Those are two big bands from the former Czechoslovakia. Harder band's like Arakain , Törr, Titanic, Kern, Master's Hammer...🤘

I know Sinawe. In fact I was this close to pocking that album up on Discogs a couple of years ago, but someone snatched it up right under my nose.

I have heard of some of the bands but I don´t own a single one of them. Great you found copies of those "obscure" albums! Funny, I had the Baphomet album playing in the car just yesterday, that came out before the Banished album. Same band, different name.

Fascinating video, Thomas. These bands have some absolutely amazing histories. I thank you for featuring them, as you are correct, I'd never heard of the bands, and therefore would likely never have heard their stories. I have some listening to do, as usual! 😂 Cheers! 🤘
