Yeah this works and I've been using my 7verizon like this for past few months. An important edition to the method is that you have to always remember that should your phone ever switch off/battery dies/restarts... you will need to prevent the devilspawn that is 'device setup' from connecting to the internet before net firewall starts running, otherwise netpach won't be able to suppress it which locks the phone again and you'll have to redo this hack from scratch. First ensure SIM IS EJECTED if the phone will immediately connect to the internet when starting (ie. you are in wifi range or your sim has an active internet plan and you were not in airplane mode) after that tap netpach app to make sure its running and only then you can re-insert sim, But if the phone was in airplane when switching off or you don't currently have an internet plan bought then no need to worry about all that.

I just did it and it works nice on Pixel 6 pro android 13. tips: - Always connect metered wifi ( you can do this in “advanced options” when entering wifi password ). - Be careful with an open wifi , it will connect immediately and could cause lock again. If you have to connect to it for X reasons try to connect and immediately activate the airplane mode, if done correctly the wifi will be disconnected before anything happens, next go to “saved networks” in Ethernet settings, there look for the wifi network and change it to metered . Something that just came to my mind is that maybe with rooting the Pixel and “pre-install” apps so when u factory reset it in the future u have already pre-installed your most used apps and just need to update. ( You will need to re-enter your mail password etc. Data will be lost so it is just to save time). It is also possible that you can delete this “device settings” but it might brick the device ( idk about this ) so 'maybe' it will never be locked again. ( If you do factory reset maybe it might brick? You will also need to do the steps again to unlock it, this its because on factory reset it will install the “Device Settings” app again).

In also talked to AT&T. They'll unlock it for free 😊

There is another VPN setting that needs to be made. On my Google Pixel 4a (5G) locked to AT&T, the VPN turns off (is disabled) every time I reboot my phone. In the VPN Other Settings you can change the VPN to be "Always-on VPN". Cheers, Michael

I finally found this solution and it's worked (so far) for my Pixel 4a (5G). Thank you TDC UPDATE: I upgraded to Android 14 and my sim no longer works. This solution is also temporary.

youre a live saver man,i was not getting 5G signals for so long,but not so long ago my ip upgraded my plan & added like 600gb of 5G but i couldnt use it,i disable all lte bands & enable all 5G bands,then i enable the lte bands 1 by 1 until i get 5G(system said u still need lte band for 5g to work),now 5G works all the time👍

got a pixel 5 android 14 november and may 2024 security patch, it works but if you turn the phone off it doesnt work and you have to factory reset and do everything again... Battery anxiety just got a whole new meaning lolz
