    This is some mind blowing playing here folks.The only thing that is equal to Billy Sheehan's playing is his wonderfully generous personality.He is a gem of a person and absolutley at the top of his profession.

      Errrrr...no....the Ex-Factor is the model with the low-D Extender, the Factor is the rarer model with no Extender. The model without was regular long scale, 34‐inch. The Ex-Factor is medium scale, 32-inch.

    Hi Mike, hope you're well? Quick question for you. I bought a new Spector Bass in May this year, it hasan ebony fingerboard. What cleaning/ conditioning product can you recommend and how often it needs to be applied. Im based in the UK. All the best 👍🏻

    • @BrooksysBassCorner
      @BrooksysBassCorner 7 дней назад

      Hey Gary! Cool purchase.... I tend to use Dr Duck's Axe Wax on ebony boards but there are various suitable products, Music Nomad F-One oil is very good also. You shouldn't need to apply it more than once or twice a year, depending on the humidity and temperatures you store the instrument in. All the best!

    I'm a bit late to the party! I've got a B5 Element ( in black ) with the MarkBass preamp. It plays and sounds great after I set it up properly ( intonation on the G is challenging!). It's a fantastic bass! Plays beautifully and is one of those rare basses which sounds good whatever the pickup blend and eq is set at, and the passive sounds have a nice mid range. Balance and weight are perfect too! Despite having a gorgeous Shuker J5, Warwick Corvette 5 ( not RockBass) and Japanese Ibanez SDGR 5....the Cort is my "go to" gigging bass now. Massively underrated, and crazy value for money if you're prepared to set it up right

      Well, the two pickup version of the ATK is the most varied tone version of that bass range. Sadly the range has now been retired from Ibanez's bass catalogue. You could swap out the circuit and create the options you want...personally, I'm quite happy with it as it is. Cheers for the comment

    On my Warwick Streamer ProM unfortanelly the tracking is awful, even 1 semiton, when i play the E string it keeps "searching" the note. I solve this problem putting my Boss Bass Limiter before the digitech, and compressing very Hard, but, by doing That, the sound change so much compared to the standard tunning. At the moment i dont have other basses to test, but i think the Warwick sound is too strong for the drop

    After thinking about it for a couple of years, I finally ordered one. I am NO fan of P-Basses, but this one is FAR better than any of the "real" Fender P-Basses I have tried, and I have tried quite a few. More recently, I gave Fender another chance and ordered a fretless Tony Franklin ($2200). The neck is unbelievable, a terrific fretless, but the tone? Meh, at best. I did an A/B comparison and the Profile (at about 1/3 the price) sounded so much better that it was unbelievable. I returned the TF for a full refund. If there is one thing I know for sure, I will NEVER sell my Profile. I play fretless more than fretted btw. Still, when I need that P-Bass tone, nothing sounds as good as that Profile. Definitely a keeper (I've been playing bass for over 50 years). To sweeten the deal, not that it was necessary, the Bass Centre threw in an autographed copy of Bruce's excellent book, Rough Notes and Grainy Images. A great read from an excellent author as well as bass player. I'd been playing bass for about a decade when I saw EC and the Attractions in person at Davis CA (which Bruce refers to in the book, to my surprise). Other than the great John Entwistle, I had never seen a player with such command of the fretboard. They would never have been as great a band as they were without Bruce Thomas. After seeing him, I absolutely wore out my copy of This Year's Model and learned so much from dissecting his lines. It says a lot that Bruce Thomas didn't just go and create a signature model for the money. He actually plays one of these. It says a lot for someone's character that he didn't want to charge an arm and a leg, but made sure the bass was affordable by a majority of players. Trust me, it's worth every penny! Thank you Bruce, and thank you to the fine folks at The Bass Centre. Also, this was one great demo of this outstanding bass.
