Monday Morning Can Cut
Просмотров 13421 день назад
Took it easy on myself this morning with a big 'ol can at 12 yards. Shooting Omega white .45 bands, cut 18-12 (a bit light but I already had them made) and 8mm steel. #slingshot #catapult #cancut #wasp #simpleshot #crocssocksandslingshots

@Trackattack.911 25 Meter Can Cut Challenge!
Просмотров 91Месяц назад
My attempt at Trackattack911's 25 meter can cut challenge. This one was an eye opener for me, 82 feet is a mighty long way. I also need to start sorting my ammo better, seems like some shots were getting squirrely out past 15 or so yards. #slingshot #catapult #cancut #wasp #simpleshot #buckshot #crocssocksandslingshots
Figuring out the Target Camera

Watch me struggle to hit some targets while testing out a target camera setup. Believe me, I struggled more with the editing than the shooting...

DIY Furled Leader
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.5 месяцев назад
Short video on how I make furled leaders for fly fishing. 90% of my fly fishing is done with these leaders and they have worked well for me for years. I tend to keep the pound test close to the line weight of the rod. 3wt 2-4lb mono, 5wt gets 4-6lb mono, 7wt - 6-8lb, you get the idea!

Awesome parcel! 👍
Geat looking para-creations, for sure. Leon is an awesome dude. 👊
Nice can cut, bud. Thanks for the sub, I got you back 👊.
great explanation ! I´ve also been using those leaders for many years. try a figure 8 knot, it´s not as bulky as the surgeons knot. I use small bait rings instead of a swivel.
Great job. Try 100 meter can shot
It's on my list-o-things to try! Ive got plenty of property but the slight rolling hills make 100 yards surprisingly difficult to find.
@@thomas.bill92 nice.. but it’s meters not yards. It’s almost the same.
@@thomas.bill92 100 meters is 109 yards. I think
Oh yes, meters! My shooting background has yards and moa drilled into my brain haha
I'm glad you liked the package. Thanks billy
Nice looking natty! Great shooting!
Thanks Chad! I was dang near aiming in the dirt to compensate for the fork width!
Awesome!!
Nice lanyard! And kids asked the prefect questions😅😅nothing worse than a barfed up dragon fly!😅😂❤ Great show man!
I tell ya, some of the stuff that comes out of their mouths... Haha!
Nice! I got some from him as well and they are well done!
Looks fun!
Nice haul!
Great slingmail! Quality work there.... Leon is an awesome guy!
Nice!! Was looking at some of his creations! Back down the rabbit hole we go😅
He, is a star,, subscribe to Leon he doz fantastic work
Good stuff 👏 nice work!
He does great work , so hit him up guys and place an order 👊🏻
Nice shot Bill!
Granted, there was a lot of warm up shooting before the camera came out haha!
Is it easy maintenance?
Yes
Way to go bro! It's a rough one fur sure. Track ain't allowed to make any more suggestions lol😅😅😅
You got that right!
What’s its top speed?
Just subbed, nice shootin!
Hey, thanks DeeeZ! Means a lot to me.
Thank you for giving it a try is a bit of a challenge
Hey thanks for giving me a reason to get out and try it! Really makes me doubt some of the guys out there on RUclips claiming consistent headshots on squirrels at 40 yards! I can barely see a can clearly at ~27, let alone a 25mm squirrel head at 40.
Heck yea man great job
Every can has its day😅😅😅
Good stuff
Cool target ideas man !
It's not like anyone actually likes to eat those things anyway.... 😂😂😂
@thomas.bill92 no kidding they can ruin an Easter basket in a hurry 😂🤣😅
Nice shot Bill👊
Chillin with Jerry and shooting. 🙏
Couldn't think of a more fitting artist.
I found one too! She’s so adorable!!
Right left right left...I feel your pain lol😅 great show man!
Thanks man!
Nice shooting bub!
Snipa!
Finally 🤣🤣🤣 fun times 👍👍👍
Great video! Cool shooting session with the kids! Cant beat that👊
Cant get any better than this teaching the kids! So great. Happy shooting guys!
Great shooting man 👊
Top man 👍 well of I go with 10 cans 👍👍
Out of all the things in the world to shoot a slingshot at, a beer can is probably top on my list. Fun to shoot and fun to make, if you catch my drift...
Whip, smack is music to my ears. Just ran across this channel and subbed
Thanks! I'm hoping to get more shooting videos on the channel soon.
Nice one. Subbed
Hi bill longtime no see
Great idea! I like the way you do things. Keep doing, great job!
❤
What type of caps are you using for reliable ignition?
I prefer CCI caps. That's what is typically available around me.
What sling and sling mounts are you using and could you link them as well? Awesome video, loved it and that is a gorgeous rifle. I just saw the stainless cerakote version and their both beautiful rifles and for the price, damm you can't go wrong... Thanks for sharing even if I am a several years late...
Hey there, James! The Deerhunter model comes with sling attachments installed from the factory. The sling was just a Winchester branded sling sold by Walmart at the time. It was made of neoprene and was grippy on one side, very comfortable sling but I haven't seen it in stores recently (or I'd buy a couple more for my other guns).
@@thomas.bill92 thanks Thomas for the response. I think I'm gonna go ahead and pull the trigger on one. I saw that these also come in kits where everything is set up like a starter kit and comes with all the items you need to get started at a $399 price tag. I also saw the stainless cerakote version of this rifle and what a beautiful rifle that one is. It was being sold as a stand-alone...no starter kit, just the rifle for $369 and the blued (black colored) version alone was $349. Not bad for either of them price wise. I also liked the little canvas looking shoulder bag and could tell that could be a good starter bag unless I find something else. But that little bag looks to be something perfect for this kind of rifle and to put all the necessary items you need for a fun range day. Can I ask if you could list all the items you use such as powder type, wad type, ball type that works for you? Also, did you need to upgrade anything on your rifle such as the ram rod or sights or trigger or even the flintlock itself? Again, great video and thanks so much for sharing. When I was a little boy, I used to watch my dad shoot black powder rifles and he'd dress up the part for the competition shooting events in buckskin pants, shirts and moccasins. I've been wanting to get into flintlock rifles as I'm somewhat getting bored of all the stuff out there now. Watching your video makes me need a new hobby now. Have a great day and thanks again...👍👍
Hey James! I will tell ya now that the kit wasn't all that it was made out to be. If you plan on shooting it once or twice a year then it would suffice but if you really get into the hobby, you will find yourself replacing pretty much everything in the kit. I shoot flintlocks almost every week and don't use anything that came in the kit at this point. Now don't let this dissuade you from getting a flintlock but I think you would be better off getting the rifle you want (and the best you can afford) and building a kit from there. My bag that I take with me to the range and on my woods walk has a few specific items that will get used or get me out of a pinch and not much else! When it comes to powder patch and ball combinations, if you get yourself a .50 rifle, get some .490" round balls, some dry patches (The prelubed ones can become frustrating as they can dry out and make loading very hard, I use pillow ticking fabric liberally lubed with olive oil or mink oil) and some 3f real black powder. Trying to use pyrodex or other substitutes will lead to a lot of misfires and hangfires. If you're on Instagram, look me up at nnlongrifles, I could talk about this stuff for days but RUclips comment conversations get me all turned around haha!
@@thomas.bill92 hi Thomas, yeah I bought the starter kit first to basically do a "entry level" into the hobby before I really dive into it. Figured I'd try it out and see how it goes and aside with spring just around the corner, I could get some time in into the new hobby. I bought the rifle earlier today off gunbroker and the vendor offered layaway so I took advantage of that. Probably be another month or two before I can get anywhere with the new hobby. In the meantime, I'll watch all the fun videos that are on here about the hobby. Gear bags, "possibles" bag and powder types, ball types, how to clean and some other basic stuff I wanna know about. I'll keep you posted...and thanks again...🍻
Great shooting! Squirrel in the pan!
Good info thanks!
It gets the job done! When I was told that flints were not returnable or refundable from a certain vendor, I had to improvise.
@Bill Thomas yes in the last few months mine have all been very tall I have had to knap them down this looks much faster
I just wish that the vendors would get word back to the knappers over across the pond that we aren't happing paying for 12 flints, 6 of which need modifications to work.
Wow now that's some shooting
Caliber ?
.58!
I have one of those. And also another "more reputable" flintlock. The Traditions rifle out of the plastic bubble wrap package. Ya, the flintlock with the black plastic stock costing a fraction of what my good Navy Arms model cost, Is the better of the two guns. The frizzen went soft within 100 rounds on the expensive gun and it was almost thirty years before I got that sorted out. I did finally get it shooting well. But Traditions sold me a light quick handling .50 with nearly instant ignition on every single shot. And at a price half of any less reliable competition.
I hope this is slowed... Yes. I know it is
Oh yes haha, Samsung ultra slow mo for whatever it means! I'm amazed at how quick this lock is.
