    I recently started full-time work as thought I was ready. I've now had to get signed off for two weeks because I was trembling with anxiety attacks daily. It's broken my confidence. Just feels like I'll struggle to live a normal life again. Rang no panic and they were so kind to me. Told me I wasn't losing my mind. I was having intense anxiety disorder attacks and once my meds kick in and I start counseling I should start to feel better again. Please God help me and others with this horrible condition 🙏 ❤

    One coping strategy is to use the NO PANIC helpline. Unless you talk to Brian. He has no help to offer. He does ask unnecessary, irrelevant questions. Has a bad attitude of pomposity acting like judge and jury. He makes ludicrous statements but cannot explain when challenged. He thinks he's some intellectual. No he is a Brian certainly not a brain cell in sight. The type who read a phrase and spouts it to sound intelligent, but hasn't a clue what he's on about. He is quite passive aggressive, he doesn't even ask if he can help when he answers the phone. He probably spends his life stirring and creating discord, then running off tail between his legs. I'm truly disgusted by his abuse of position on the helpline. I have no confidence NP will do anything. They just happen to have some good volunteers but its not because of anything they do. Other helpliners who are rotten and equally harmful are: Aileen she has nothing helpful to say either. You hear her dog more than her. She sounds like she's buried in darkness, and misery. Rob on Tuesday is much like Brian, they are probably the same person and are cut from the same cloth. These three people are manipulative and abusive in passive aggressive ways so it is not easy to catch them out. Evil.

  • @yoya4766
    @yoya4766 2 года назад

    NoPanic has a helpline staffed by some very warped people. Their names are Brian, Rob, Elaine and some others. Elaine doesn't speak you only hear her snorting dog. She has nothing to say to help, she sounds very very stupid. Rob and Brian ask intrusive irrelevant questions they seem to get off on other people's misery. They talk down to you when not going round in circles, saying nothing helpful. They make no effort to help, so why do they go on a helpline??? They come across like twisted, lowlifes. There are also three very helpful women on the helpline, they listen and do whatever it takes to try to help. They have knowledge and share it, they are an asset. Unfortunately, the many bad apples bring down the entire charity. What sort of people do they choose? Why aren't they trained or monitored? The problem lies in the management, the CEO is a joke, he can barely speak and is unfit to lead anything. Their complaints process is laughable, they do nothing. I hope the good helpliners leave and set up their own charity. I'm sure they'd do really well.

    I very rarely go out! Unless absolutely necessary! My fears are debilitating and very dangerous to myself! I have to take Diazepam every time I rarely go for a walk that has to be driven to and a very nice 👍 quiet place! And shopping 🛒 have to go rarely with my brother that drive me to shop! And back! Then I can’t wait to get back home 🏡 it is a scary sickening nasty 🤢 condition! And my panic attack’s are terrible!!! And dangerous I always take KALMS and eight or more Diazepam! Any time I get out which is very rare!!! I stopped drinking a year ago! And it’s still there that panic!!! I wished I were free from this nasty 🤢 disorder! As I feel like I’m living a wasted life and it doesn’t get better! Only one ☝️ or two times in roughly a month I feel normal but still take KALMS and Diazepam anyway!!!

    If you suffer with interesting thoughts and you have a worrying thought that you’re going to hurt somebody usually you weren’t just because you haven’t thought doesn’t mean you’re goi if you suddenly start having intrusive thoughts about harming others which where are you reassured usually you don’t if you intended to do that you wouldn’t be worried about it

    Thank you! That was a wonderful educational Q&A session. SUMMARIZING THE POINT MADE BY PROF. ROZ SHAFRAN What is Healthy Perfectionism ? 1. Striving for excellence 2. Accepting failure as a stepping stone/lesson learnt towards excellence What are the signs of Unhealthy Perfectionism, that ultimately and ironically interferes with adequate performance/day to day living/work? 1. Setting very high probably unrealistic STANDARDS 2. Unreasonable EMOTIONS AND THINKING before, during and after a job and it’s outcomes - a. All or none attitude - ‘if I don’t achieve that goal I am nothing/I have no value’. b. Catastrophising self-worth in the eventuality of poor performance c. Low self-esteem because of that. d. Unrealistic drive - ‘musterbation’ e. Suffering from performance anxiety/stress/worry f. Unable to deal with uncertainty of eventual performance or outcomes g. Being unduly self-critical of outcomes h. Low mood arising out of the outcome 3. ACTIONS - a. Procrastination b. Checking and re-checking things/ redoing c. Faulty ‘domain’ of expression ‘Treatment’ :- 1. Realize it can be part of a larger Mental Health problem 2. On the other hand, it can be a primary problem leading to mental health problems: anxiety / low mood/eating disorder/OCD 3. It is NOT a disease that needs a ‘cure’ 4. But unhealthy perfectionism is a condition in which we need to modify our thoughts/emotions and behaviours and there IS help - a. Behavioural therapy b. Self-help books with exercises c. Even if you are doing it alone, seek help e.g. seek help from your University Counsellor if you are a student or visit nopanic.org.uk (Resources) 5. Remember: You do not have to lower standards/ productivity/output

    As someone that has suffered with severe anxiety and panic disorder for many years, the mental health team at my local hospital is what brought me here, I've had many breakdowns, psychotic episodes, overdoes etc because it can be so powerful, but listening to these people has (in a good way) made me feel a little bit more normal, i have always felt mine has been worse than anyone I've ever met, i have to be honest never met someone with anxiety as bad as mine to be fair, they have the same symptoms but mine went untreated for almost 20 years :( so now i don't really go out, work, socialize, do things i enjoy (i mean EVERYTHING as well) heck I'm currently going through a hard time and not eating nor drinking and ended up in the hospital because of it, i cant exercise, go in a car the list really does go on but thank you so much for this video, this is the start of my road to recover i hope.

    I’ve only now come to realize I’ve been dealing with severe panic attacks for a few years. I was diagnosed with a progressive chronic illness that limits my mobility at times, and because after 3 years I’m no longer in consistent treatment, I have a great deal of opportunistic infections and unexpected inflammation. So when something I don’t understand, like an inner disease that’s caused vertigo, I go into panic mode. This is truly an eye opener and so happy I watched , and grateful it was produced.
