The Raves - Don't Chop Down My Tree

Great band from New York City, founded in 1964 by Mike and Dave Jimenez. Manny Roth booked them as a regular act at his legendary Café Wha on MacDougal Street and Minetta Lane in the Greenwich Village where they built quite a fanbase. After their three singles failed to hit, the band parted. The band still exists today with a different lineup, without Dave Jimenez. Note; I never monetize or pro...

Two Tone Tash - England Euro 2024 Song - Take 3
Is this 45 dated? With the chord progression and lead guitar so similar to the Sgt. Pepper song (mid-‘67) that leads into ‘A Day in the Life’, my guess would be ‘67. Lots of ‘ca. ‘66 garage songs’ were recorded in ‘67/‘68. Thanks for posting.
It's very different than the fantastic A=MH² album that Clark-Hutchinson made the following year.
It's a garage classic nowadays. I got polka dotted eyes after seeing a chick in an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini.
Vocals sound like a cross between Ray Davies and David Bowie Great intro. Cool guitar. Dig those bits of harmonica.
Baby Phish
I love 60s music
Another great single, a mean guitar, great drumming, and nice stabbings at psychedelia. Nice oooomph!!! Thanks for posting this beauty, really thank you.
Wowie..this is a great track. It's psychedelic alright, love the guitar. Thanks for posting this rarity, really thank you.
Awesome! Thanks for uploading..!
Tough rhythm section!
I can imagine John Lennon's voice doing this one, too. Nice
Somber vocals. No fuzz/wah psych guitar. The organ is what gives it the psych appeal. Cool keys/organ break. Celestial garage psych. Nice one, p.k. Ty
Yes, a completley different mood here. A grower.
Awesome. This innocent song is much more complicated as it seems when hearing it for the first time.
Sonido Sicodélico raro, muy típico del label Int.Arts.,atractiva
I lasted 43 seconds.....
Good put up some groovy stuff.
Killer TX garage band. A two-sider of Lone Star psych.

This is some gnarly stuff, that guitar is great.
I ragazzi degli anni 60 stupiscono sempre per la loro esplorazione musicale
psychedelic...freakbeat......acid rock....some great bands of this genre and these are excellent
There's nothing semi- psychedelic about this. It's smokin" psych It is a full-blown trip. Some rippin" fuzz in there. Soulful vocals.
I agree Thomas, what does semi-psychedelic mean? To take only the half of a trip? Greetings
@@berndjenter4005 Greetings! Maybe 1/2 trip means a trip with no return to reality. That would be like living in the twilight zone. These guys were out there like the Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Like Syd Barrett. Semi-psych??? Acid rock is what it is. Cheers
@@thomassmith8721Sounds a bit as if you're talking about me! ( lol ) Cheers bro
Muy muy interesante
Psicodelico+punk
Great record.
Buen garage y muy salvaje! Interesante!!!
I knew this song ! By the Clique from the uk
Thanks. Will check that one out.
Too good for a B-side. Could have been another single release.
I love that little bass riff that sounds like a chain saw!
Love discovering bands from the 60’s/70’s 🎸✌️😎☮️
The best music of all time. Glad you like it. Thank you.
Maing, ! Good Stuff, bro
Cool lsd tripping lol 😆 🤣 😂 😎
Good one.
Fabulous!!!
Beautiful
Groovy stuff man. I hear Buddy Holly influences.
I never made that connection until you mentioned it. You are right. Thank you.
❤
Nice bass line.
Oh yeeh, this is a killer !
Thank's Thomas.
Love it!
An absolute killer. Can't recall where I first heard this - a Pebbles or Highs in the Mid-Sixties comp, most likely - but I've loved this one for decades. Unlike me, it never gets old.
Yes. It was Highs in the Mid Sixties but that record used for that had been played to death. Great to hear it from a mint condition copy. Thanks.
I saw them at an amusement park in Georgia in 1969. I was quite smitten by the drummer.😊
Thank you for that. I think they only recorded this one and Purple, Purple. Did they have other songs that were unrecorded?
@@user-ci3gu1xj5n not that I'm aware of.
