Hotbox Liu™, Hotbox Duo™, and Hotbox Solo™ debut
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.2 года назад
Hotbox Liu™ in final production form. This is the first prototype built by myself to verify the dimensions work prior to production. Hotbox Duo™ design is complete, and now awaiting the finish of the first prototype (90% done), and the Hotbox Solo™, the wildcard in the bunch. I think it will work, but it is entirely possible I will have to heavily modify it from what is in the video.

Coin Heated - Hotbox Solo™ single ASIC oil submersion enclosure
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.2 года назад
This is the first rendition of what will become the Hotbox Solo™, an enclosure designed to house a single ASIC miner of "double" height such as the Antminer S17 or S19. Total oil capacity will be less than 10 gallons, though this initial build ended up at about 10.5. Further refinements will be made before a production ready unit is available. The goal is to be able to have this be able to run ...
40 degrees outside, pool is around 70
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.2 года назад
This is when I first set the pool up in the spring. Only had about 8 miners in total going to it. It got below freezing overnight, and the pool would steam like this.
Back to basics - Testing flow and radiator capacity
Просмотров 3 тыс.2 года назад
I wanted to do some experimenting with only a single miner in a 10 gallon tank to see how far I could push it with a small radiator. The long term goal is to make an at-home immersion box that is as quiet as any household fan (or less).
Oil immersion cooling of ASICs to heat a large swimming pool
Просмотров 50 тыс.2 года назад
This is a little overview of some of the work I've been doing on oil submersion and heat reclamation. It's still a work in progress, and I'm still working on new designs and such, but it has come a long ways since I started with just basic tanks.

    hi do this system working after 1 year? some told us this mineral oil is wrong for cooling miners and miners should be failing after some months? your minerS stay working?

  • @lucaheinrich3894

    . I thought oil cooling needs no further cooling. I have heard that the fluid cools itself???

  • @joecool4656
    @joecool4656 Год назад

    That's very cool. You may want to cover the pool so you do not have as much evaporative water loss. I imagine it would be quite high with the elevated water temperature. Nice Project!

    The stainless steel heat exchanger you listed in your forum post says under the questions part that it is not suitable for chorine pools and recommended a titanium pool heat exchanger instead. How have you found yours holding up, any corrosion. Or do you have a salt water pool?

    I’ve prepped my basement with pex in the floor for radiant heat. I was thinking of mining and using the excess heat into the basement floor. Max need would be about 2250btu/hr in the winter.

      did you end up doing this?

    • @davidcmatt
      @davidcmatt 2 года назад

      @@hijunglegym88I did the Pex in floor, manifolds, mixers, pumps, and heat exchanger. I haven’t setup the miner side of the system yet. Currently I have Mitsubishi Mini-Split heat pumps and and am trying to work out how much more it would cost to use the miners instead. The miners are less efficient than the heat pump and I need to get the calculations done. My electric rate is $0.16/kWh and I have a 8.4kW solar array.

    I would recommend a different cooling liquid. Oil or mineral oil erodes. Instead use a non-conductive liquid. Die-electric is one (bitcool)
