My rule re: 3-hole punch - if the document is issued by a government agency (and it would cost money to replace it) it goes in a page protector. Business letters can be 3-hole punched. Besides, the page protector that holds my birth certificate also holds my passport and other "personal information" cards that are too small to be punched. Also, do you scan all the documents? I feel much better having a backup. AND you, of course, have an external hard drive backup in addition to an in-the-cloud backup. You know, just in case. In my state, the highway patrol will ask for your license and registration, so the original registration goes into the glove compartment (in a special auto organizer - love it), after it's been scanned, AND a copy goes into the binder. I also sticky-note that I have in fact, followed the aforementioned procedure (in case I forget and wonder if I did six months from now). The original car title (also scanned) goes into a page protector (but NOT the glove compartment). Do you have a section that keeps track of repairs or upgrades you made to your home AND purchase of new appliances? Important when it's time to sell. Include date, who did the repair, how much it cost, what part of the house, and why it was done. I even note when the gutters were last cleaned out. It's a memory thing. Nice to give your pet his own section in the binder. We get a printout after each visit which has a brief history (rabies shot, when spayed) and her chip information, plus name and address of the vet. Yay! all in one place. Do you have your will, power of attorney? Given thought to funeral/memorial service/body disposition? Make a "DEATH" tab and at least make notes (i.e. I think I'd prefer cremation, or, etc.) I've been told a will is super important if you have minor children. Both parents could die in the same accident (God forbid).

In a world of digital, online, etc… here’s the thing, yes I would end up aging myself so let’s get it out of the way early, I’m 56 this year, living on east coast close to gulf… storms storm sttttooorrrmmmss… always something. I keep all digital things ofc, but when the WiFi is out because your light pole gets grumpy with a strait wind, taddaaa my acct number is waaattt? So yes, I keep any n all documents in physical form as well, I’m also a licensed insurance agent in my state, so I over keep crap I’m sure. My taxes I keep for 5 years, when 6th yr comes in first year goes out, this is for auditing purposes. Home insurance policies, always have a statement to show policy number AND effective dates, yes they will ask, dunno why we do but we do. Life insurance, car insurance same thing, we always ask, helps us identify you as a policy holder. As an agent I WILL tell you that it is a norm that people find out they don’t have coverage about 5 minutes AFTER they needed it, it’s important to keep some sort of “proof” of things in your home, I advise my clients of this, “if an item cost you $20 n there is 5 of them that’s $100 the company would pay you IF you can prove it” it adds up. Everything in your home is or should be covered If you have replacement cost. It makes a difference I promise you. Most importantly n please forgive long comment, but most importantly think this way, in a situation that you had no digital access what would you need in that binder until you get your digital access back, THATS what needs to be in that binder n update it. I realize that this was 3 years ago, but you should have your investments in your binder. If something happens to you, your loved ones should know where all of your assets are.

I enjoyed the video, but in my mind, it's more efficient to wash your bed sheets first so you can make the bed during the washing/drying of the towels.

Thanks. I picked up one major tip which I just incorporated into my walk in pantry. If that was my pantry, I'd use clear containers instead of baskets so that I could quickly see what was inside. I was surprised how much expired items you had after only 4 months. Items should have longer shelf life!

My fiance and I got our first house 7 months ago and the ‘adult-ness’ of it is incredibly overwhelming. Auto section- a service/maintenance sheet per car. Being able to reference the date and type of service performed, the service provider, any service warranties, etc. becomes really helpful as cars age.

Handy to have in 1 place but also a security risk if all important documents, passports, etc in 1 place

Think you got ripped off paying that much for a small apartment. You are better off renting a small room and invest the rest of the money in an index fund or a down payment for a house. If you are renting an apartment like that, you are just throwing money away and making some else rich. I used to rent also but realize I was just wasting money. I work in tech and I bought my house in late 2019 for 800K. Now it is worth $1.2M. House was old and needed some repairs but I learned to fix a lot of it myself by watching how-to videos on RUclips. The best investment I every made was buying a house in San Jose. No apartment living will ever beat having a full front yard , garage, and back yard along with a driveway and your own property separated by a fence. I was able to put down 20 percent down for my house by living really cheap and investing in Vanguard index funds. Good luck to you.

Living close to the coast here in NC, you learn to use airtight containers for most stuff. Humidity and bugs will teach you to do so. I love using the OXO pop containers. I find a lot at thrift stores. When I do, I scoop them up. To use whenever I need them.
