I bet water logged cards will still sell for 1000s... Let's go diving 😂
He had the nastiest pitches in his prime even against the juicers. Too bad it was a short one
Korean here after Squid game ep 5. (BK referred in that Episode), I don't think he is a legend of MLB but I can assure he showed a strong impact while he was playing in MLB. Thank you for making this video!!
He had the moments because he made the easy stuff look hard and never had a shot at the hard stuff. Making the easy stuff look hard makes manufactured moments.
Yanks baby!!
They were not thrown in the ocean, there was a documentary about Topps several years ago, and a representative from Topps said they held on to them up until the late 50's, and they were dumped off a barge in the East River. And Mantle was in the 6th series, not the 2nd series.
That was my rookie card stolen wit honus Wagner card n bunch other rookie cards anybody wit information leading to capture n beatings of thee accused thief's will receive a great reward $$$$$$_$$$$$$$$. Who Gona talk. N tell truth.
If I could turn back time 🎶🎙️😂💀🤦
Its like in football, where you hear from talking heads, writers/journalists, QB abcd won this and this mamount of games, getting to the HoF when winning a SB. Eli being the next (at best, an average long term starter, getting praised for "his" SB wins). Ofc, McGwire was the MVP in 98. No tiny doubt about it. And we all know Sosa was as big in roids as him, even a cheater with corked bats. If writers, journalists, talking head were good at anything, they´d either delivered in sports, or in real jobs. Too bad fans listen to this idiots, and smart people have to endure that BS. Great vid, all points are valid.
The owners and the Baseball Writers are nothing but Hypocrites. When Bonds,Mark McGwire and Sammy were hitting homeruns the owners made so much money. They didn't want the "Gravy Train" to Stop and the so called baseball writers knew this. It was a exciting happy time fot baseball and NOW they want to punish the players by denying them membership in the Baseball Hall of Fame. The writers are full of s,,,t and the fans are fed up!
Thanks!
I met denny this weekend he is a nice guy
lmao loved the spongebob cut. Great video as always!
Thank you! I’m glad somebody appreciated that bit lol, the analytics are showing that a lot of people clicked off during that part 😅
@@TheDiamondBaseball Oh noooo lol. I loved it. Gave me a good chuckle. As we know from the world of baseball, analytics aren't *everything* ;)
Then why is the most rare one Micky mantle
Sammy had just as good a year as Big Mac. A few less homers doesn't mean that much. Also, the Cubs made the postseason while the Cardinals didn't.
Did you only watch the first minute of the video? I went over all of this lmao
8:16 .....it's a team sport 🙃
It’s an individual award
@ in a team sport. So, how much help you were to the team matters.
Yes, that’s exactly why the best player in the league should win the award. Having better teammates around you or a luckier team doesn’t mean you were a better player individually.
@@TheDiamondBaseball you see a vase, I see two women looking at each other.
$#*! Yeah! Missed your videos Connor!
I appreciate the support! It’s been a crazy year, but now I’m in a spot where I can actually focus on making videos again - more coming soon!
Still not as tragic as A-Rod losing out on three different MVPs in his first seven seasons despite having arguably the greatest rookie season in history, the only 40/40 season by a shortstop, and 57 homers/9 war in each of those respective seasons.
The AL MVP race that year was such a joke 😭 I highly recommend No More Fielders’ video on that topic: ruclips.net/video/rdnI17aIOvo/видео.htmlsi=D6Wy_ttTHLrl-2B8

Why can't MLB design balls any way they want? The design of golf balls has changed over the years. Haven't there been ANY changes in the design of footballs, basketballs or hockey pucks since the inception of those sports?
Bullsh1t video not true , best ever ! Legacy never needed saving this channel is being reported and blocked
That woman won the million dollars and 10 years later she was buying crack cocaine
I swear my buddy growing up had this card on his bed wall in a wooden
Let’s be honest that pitcher threw them that pitch so he’d get a home run. I think both teams wanted her to win that million bucks.
The 1951 bowman is his rc people the topps is more desirable they call it his rc but it's not
Everyone knows the 52 sets werent thrown away
The entro is amazing my man
It’s the same thing with the Astros cheating scandal they caught the Yankees and Red Sox cheating in 2017 and multiple other teams cheating in 2017 electronically and Alex Cora one of those guys who was for the trash can system left for Boston and did the same thing for Boston in 2018 but media crucified Houston for it and penalized the Astros because it was the smaller market because the Astros were historically great team beat Boston and New York and LA in one post season
Shamrock farms was devastated😂😂
Way to not even mention that it's a graded, 9.5, copy of the card...how hard would that have been? You probably spent more time putting gel in your stupid hair then you did, writing the stupid dialogue for this clip.
The baseball writers of America have always been a bunch of hypocritical obscene drug-taking white cheating morally bankrupt shitbags. Ready to defend the honor of the whole it's a freaking joke. Eddie Murray was the spies by the press because he wouldn't give them access after they lied about him in a story, Anne Murray even noticed during his Hall of Fame speech that he knew he had to get to 500 and 3,000 to override the writer's bias against him. Sadly the baseball writers are humans just like baseball players, and just as likely to be horrible except they hold the power making their inclination towards being horrible all the more prevalent
I like collecting cards its fun ......A card is truly only worth....what someone is willing to pay for it. No card is worth $12 million. Don't matter who it is.
Best MLB story ever!
There was one at my job in a plastic baggie with other cards I seen it it didn't click in my head I left but wanted the bag I came back n the baggie was broken cards were falling onto the floor and then I seen how much it's worth today it bothers me till this day I should have known but someone's happy today while I'm still poor
BK is the MAN
Those cops became millionaires. No one is throwing away cards like that.
Ty Cobb, I can say no more lol
What happened to the Hornas Wagner card. For years, that cigarette card was the most expensive
Jeter has something in common with Ryne Sandberg. In that ironically the biggest weakness in their fielding was what fooled people into thinking they were much better fielders than they actually were. That being that they had terrible range. Jeter made a living out of making what would have been routine plays by almost any other fielder look like incredible plays because he was barely able to get to the ball. That severely reduced the amount of errors he got charged with, even though he still committed a ton of errors. And it also simply eliminates a massive amount of fielding chances because he simply could not get to balls an ordinary fielder could.
my stupid grandma threw away my dads cards, hard telling how many were mantles
What's hilarious is that there plenty of HOF'ers who openly admitted to cheating in other ways like scuffing the ball, amphetamines, etc. But these older/historical guys get a pass for some reason. The reality is the writers simply dislike guys like Bonds and Clemens because of their personalities, so they use the PEDs as justification to keep them out.
Faye Vincent deserved a longer tenure.
So did jeter ever come out and say im the best defender ever? I don't recall that ever happening so im not sure why you say he fooled people, maybe your videos have poor views across the board so you had to use jeter to actually get some views for a change, seems like you fooled everyone if you ask me
He was only a dodger for a one season but he will always be Tio Albert 💙
Wish I got a chance to see Mickey play
I couldn't agree more with every word you said! I've been saying for years that the baseball Hall of Fame is a holier-than-thou, hypocritical joke for much of the reasons you stated. Especially given that Big Papi had the same level of steroid suspicion as Sosa and Clemens, and yet he got in on the first ballot, and guys like Sosa, Bonds and Clemens have virtually been banished to baseball Hell. However the thing that blew me the most is what they did to Curt Schilling. Essentially keeping him out of the Hall of Fame for literally political reasons. I know it's not PED's related, but I think what they did to Schilling is the most egregious IMO. So since then, I don't really view the baseball HoF as a credible and unbiased organization.
In Baseball, Three strikes and you're out! Selig should be OUT of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Actually, as a follow-up: Let's remove ALL commissioners from the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Let it be for the players, managers/coaches, and people who made a lifetime contribution. And, of course, the lovable umps!
The beginning of the end for my interest in modern baseball was the 1994 strike while the end of the end (the final nail) was the disgraceful, anti-American kneeling before playing of the National Anthem that first COVID year. Virtually no club handled it properly so Baseball went from America's game to ...
That Dick Allen did not meet the 5% minimum vote threshold to move beyond his initial year of consideration UNDERSCORES how incompetent and/or biased that great voting body, the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA), truly is. BBWAA voters can pick the obvious HOF'ers (Cobb, Ruth, Griffey, Rivera) but add a smidge of controversy and their inadequacies take priority. Face it: By the 1960s all first tier HOF'ers having cleared the bar, why would 20 voters leave Ted Williams completely off their ballots? Numerous other examples of BBWAA bias/ignorance could be cited. Bias/ignorance have been with BBWAA HOF voting since the beginning (1936): How else does one explain how two pitchers with 373 wins each could finish with 90.7% (Christy Mathewson) and 24.3% (Grover Cleveland Alexander) the same year?
