This week I built a Oregon Ducks themed Mandalorian helmet!
This project started as a commission request that never followed through. I’m not much of a sports guy, but I liked the team colors so much I decided to make it anyway!
I wanted to incorporate details from the team so I took to Google to do a bit of research. I was also encouraged by a friend to heavily reference the color-way of the team’s “duck” uniforms from a couple years ago. In my hum...

A Paintbooth On Wheels?! (DIY Mobile Paint Booth Build)
I honestly thought you had over 100k subs. Great quality!
Thanks for watching!
This is absolutely fantastic! I love the final result, and getting to see your process for fixing issues like the brush strokes is really good! I got a bit nervous when you started brush painting that in the first place but it *really* paid off! Can I ask a couple of questions? I'm currently setting up my shop so I can work on cosplay props indoors, and not, uh, on my apartment's balcony. 1. What's that spray booth setup made up of? Are you ventilating it somehow? 2. I've always looked towards Bondo & other such automotive fillers for layer lines on 3D prints locally, but unfortunately body filler is fairly expensive here in Iceland, so wood filler actually sounds like a fantastic idea - Is there anything specific you go for? Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the process ❤️ 1. The first video I have on my channel is me building the paint booth and yes it does vent out my garage door. Overall I’m happy with the design, but sometimes, on large spray sessions, it doesn’t vent quite as quickly as I would like it to. Not sure how I would fix that other than to get an even bigger vent fan. 2. I use DAP’s plastic wood filler. I imagine most plastic wood fillers are about the same. I always sand with a mask and over a dust collector that I’ve built to keep the dust down, but it’s also nice knowing that any dust floating around isn’t nearly as toxic as Bondo or resin 😅 If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
this iwas magical to watch... and inspiring... i got ahold of the set plans for the lars homestead from an auction site and am building a version in 1/12 scale!
That’s incredible! I’d love to check them out. Thanks for watching and good luck on your build!
Use spray glue to glue foam together. Cheaper and better
Excellent!
@@kyelsavage6296 Thank you!
Pastels is what they are called not chalk or “chock”. Try Mr color lacquers instead of Vallejo, they are more durable.
Use the 3M purple tape. The adhesive is not intense. Great work. I’m actually binge watching all your videos at work 😅
I’ve started using that! Thanks for watchin!
Hey, hope you'r doing well, may I ask why there hasn't been a video in 4 weeks? No pressure, just feels kinda odd
Hey! I’ve been prepping for a collab with The Smuggler’s Room and a couple other channels coming in January 🤫 That, and prepping for Christmas with the fam has filled my plate quite a bit 😅 Thanks for checking in!
@@brungerbuilds Thats great to hear, good luck with the collab and Merry Christmas!
@@brungerbuildssuper glad to hear this, I’ve been checking regularly and was about to comment before I saw this!
Wow… just wow
I freakin love the way it came out. You did a phenomenal job! I would be proud to have this in my collection ❤
Thank ya!
Awesome work, the helmet came out amazing!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
Hot . I Learn I lot. Thank you
Glad you got some value out of it. Thanks for watching!
I absolutely need to know where you found that version of binary sunset in the beginning of the video!
I threw it together in Photoshop using a frame from the movie! Put it up on my computer screen behind the model as my own tiny "Volume" just like they do on modern Star Wars shows. Thanks for watching! *EDIT: I also realize you might be talking about the music track haha! In that case, I grabbed it from the score and slowed it down a tad to pass under the algo’s radar 🤫
What do you use in the wood filler? It was semi runny!
Just a little bit of water!
Chalk and modpodge ,I'll have to look i to that . Excellent build .
Heck yeah! Seriously one of the best weathering techniques.
Day 21 reminding Brungerbuild to do Darth Vader.
😅
Bro, where's the most awaited Darth Vader helmet?
Not sure 😅
Love it!
Thank ya!
Love it. Greets from the Netherlands.
Thank you!
That is so sick. I would totally wear that to a game.
Can I make a suggestion? Your weathering is really nice but it feels too 'calculated' in it's placement. It looks patchy and almost like a repeating pattern. Try to randomize and show restraint in some spots, it will bring it to a better level. Keep up the good work.
Looks really good, and i like the idea of doing the physical scuff before the metal coat. The only thing i would point out is that especially from certain angles, the scratches/chips look like theyre clumped in a less than organic way. Definitely going to add some of these ideas to my bucket though🫡
Yeah I’ve had a pretty steep learning curve with the liquid mask for some reason 😅 Thanks for watching!
My pleasure, you're doing great work, and I'm learning plenty. Please keep it up🤘
Those gloves are extremely important for the process
🤓🧤
Yes but you made it look like shit in purpose. Like people who sell damadged furniture and call it "petina" like no you buffoon its just damadged Edit: Did not mean it actually looks like shit! You made it look WORN on purpose!!!
It looks like an ancient jedi saber that’s had new pieces added to it to stop the hilt from just actually crumbling away. Awesome.
the shiny bits are still to shiny i think, but good job! it looks beautiful.
Agree! I could’ve put a little extra elbow grease into that 😅
Heresy
Ruin it? Nah u have that thing more character
Only things I would have done differently is knock down the chrome on the clamp a bit and do the emitter weathering over the finish it came with (the emitter finish is meant to resemble to Inconell material of the original part) but overall looks great. I was a little skeptical of the truck bed liner but it really worked better than I expected
nah it looks amazing. also you don't have to baby it now, any scratches will just add to the look 👊
That looks amazing!! Love the clay and modpodge mix for permanent mud. That’s incredible
Thank you!
nope-a
Hell no, that thing is gorgeous
Thank ya!
Another great build and video. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome work
Thank you!
Yes
💚💛🧡
8:11 what are you doing here with the dust you’re creating with the blade?
It's pastel chalk. Mixing it with matte Mod Podge allows you to get various dusty textures while weathering. If you build up the chalk a lot you can make it look really gunky, and if you go light with the application, it's more like fine dust.
@ wow definitely trying this on my next build thank you 🙏
Ahhh if only there was a way to lock in that metal finish... because it really does look like real metal
Yeah, these days I think I could replicate the look using high grit sandpaper and Alclad’s “polished aluminum” and once sealed with their Aqua Gloss it’d be pretty close. Thanks for checking this one out!
This thing looks awesome!! you went into amazing detail with it, really great work 👊
Thank you!
Love this! I'm just a half hour from U of O. I would have loved to see the wings they use on their helmets make it onto this build. Very cool none the less!
Thanks! I definitely tried, but for this particular layout and color blocking I didn’t feel like I could get them to fit. Would definitely be doable in a different design though! Thanks for watching!
You delivered again, excellent work, personally this helmet isn't my favorite from you, just because I don't live in the US, but the paintjob is really amazing! Also one thing, the "scratching with 60 grid sandpaper" at the end feels a bit out of place on the top of the dome, but regardless awesome as always.
Yeah I tend to agree with you on the sandpaper scratch on the dome. It was one of those situations where I initially slipped and just had to make the best of it 😅 Thanks for watching!

Thanks! Good luck on your build!
Yooo dude I live in Oregon THATS AWESOME!!!!! 🤩
Thanks!
You have no idea how nuts people here would go if someone turned up to a game in a full Mando X Ducks set of armor. That helmet came out amazing!
Thank you! Definitely hoping I can get it to the team or at least into a game on someone’s head 😅
That would be so cool!
Amazing work, you're an inspiration!
Appreciate ya!
