    I used a Trace 2412 for 24 years. I only changed as I wanted to move from modified step to pure sinewave. So I bought a Renogy 3000 watt inverter charger It lasted less than a month!!! Yikes. They did give me my money back and luckily I didnt sell the 2412. Id stay away from Renogy. Ive lived off grid since 1986 and have had several inverters over that time. Usually to get more power. Once I got to the 2412 it had enough power but things like dimmable bulbs would have issues. The reason for my switch to the Renogy After mine had its very quick and catastrophic failure I found many people online complaining about them. If your home like mine depends on it stay away from Renogy If your just camping its not then end of the world. But if your farm like mine has for example water for horses that depends on that inverter get a more dependable one

    Propeller shape looks like extremely uneffective. It should be throwing air by sides much more than forward so, as it's in such square case, it's quite noisy. Such things it would be better to simulate in some fluid mechanics software. And roughness of the surfaces plays a big role too. Look how even cheap fan's blades smooth.

    • @OperationCamp
      @OperationCamp 11 месяцев назад

      Oh the fan blade is definitely not effective. Angle is off for one. But does move air through the case pretty good. Buffering sound definitely could be reduced by making blade edges thinner and changing the angles. I'm working on another blade design for an upcoming video.

    @envarion 11 месяцев назад

    Fun project. I like that you linked all the parts in the description. That blade angle seems really steep. If you reprint the fan part with a blade angle closer to 45 degrees-- even if that means reducing the number of blades-- I think you'll find it pushes alot more air in the axial direction (through the fan case, as you'd want) rather than just spiralling the air radially inside the case (wasted energy).

    • @OperationCamp
      @OperationCamp 11 месяцев назад

      Yeah I definitely shot from the hip on the angle for sure. But it does work reasonably well for a first try. It does use a lot of energy. I'll try 45 degrees and post the results. Thanks for the input.

Check to make sure they wired it right with a polarity checker.. As some people hook the Neutral to the hot wire side. Which is the Gold Screws on the outlet.. Not the Silver ones. @@ccsjlane Yep when i got them had to charge them to 100% then hooked them up. I made bus bars from 00 Gauge wire all = lengths probably overkill but didn't want any problems. After that just hook all {+} to each other and { - } to each other.

    hi.can bad designed inverter destroy my well water pump ??

    • @OperationCamp
      @OperationCamp Год назад

      Well I don't think it would destroy the well pump but most likely destroy itself first. But I wouldn't recommend using a cheap inverter on a well pump if it's you rely on it for your main water source. But if it's not... go with something that's over the wattage of the pump by 2 just to be safe and reliable even with the cheap ones.

    Buying this to power a 45w food warmer while at work. Do you think that the strain of having having a 45w device plugged in for several hours is too much for this inverter?

    • @OperationCamp
      @OperationCamp Год назад

      I tested it at 100w and it was getting pretty spicy but I'm sure at 45w you should be alright just make sure it has plenty of room for the tiny fan to cool it down haha

    Thank you for this tear down. Really helped in making a more educated decision. There is a DeWalt inverter available nowadays so maybe tear that one down too see if it holds up to DeWalt quality.

    How have the batteries been holding up?

    • @OperationCamp
      @OperationCamp Год назад

      Been holding up great. I've had them powering my garage for a while now. I run a refrigerator, air compressor, washing machine all the time with them along with all the lights. No problems
