Remaking The Titfield Thunderbolt today - What would change?
Просмотров 17 тыс.6 месяцев назад
Sam shot first. The Titfield Thunderbolt is one of my favourite films and I’m so chuffed to have been able to work on the recent train pack we made at work in conjunction with StudioCanal and the 70th anniversary of the film. Ever since I first saw it, I’ve always wondered how I would go about remaking the film in the modern era. Sticking to a decent feature film length of under 2 hours, what w...

Hi Railway Mania, may I have your permission to make this engine in Trainz Simulator?
Yea of course!
@@RailwayManiaNet thank you for your reply. ;)
What a breath of fresh air these videos are compared to the usual teenage see through clothes crap RUclips normally have on. I'm 70 now and my dad's family are all from Newcastle and since my working abroad days, my mates still live in the north east area. Nick jumping back into his Geordie accent is a pleasure to hear and both your knowledge of this part of our history around pits is a glory to behold. Thank you again for putting this together and allowing us to travel back into the past. Anything that gets me away from what this country has become is worth sitting and watching.
Brilliant!! I have a half started Saint project myself. This has fired me up to get going with it again.
Awesome 🤩
Love the battery box behind the smoke box door ! Novel idea.👍
Hey I just wanted to say how much I love these videos. They have really inspired me to get back into model railways, I've never been into customising locomotives just because of how scary it is, and while something like this isn't quite the first step for me, these videos have given me a lot of thought as to what I'd like to do when I dive back into the hobby (moved out for uni, so all the models are at home, have no space or money). You have an amazing channel here.
Hi love the method, I never thought it could be bone like this . thank you very much 😀😀😀
I think you missed an opportunity to have the engine be called Persephone instead of Perseus.
I revisit this conversation quite often simply because of how educational it is, and how deeply passionate Simon A.C. Martin is about bringing truth to Thompson's career with the LNER and to Thompson as a person. Hope he comes back soon!
total unnütz, typisch britisch.
Sure.
What about the LNER poster for Gordon?
Now 82, a terrific video for one who lived near the Waterloo-West of England main line at Farnborough from 1941-66.
Great and fascinating project!
Although originally Weymouth based it looks far more at home here than at Buckfastleigh
🥹🥹🥹🥹🥲🥲🥲
He was the guy in the middle
It was a big loss
Guys pat is my dad 👨🏻 sadly he died 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Question: Was Oliver one of the engines sold to the NWR in 1937?
How dose your Numberring work?
Please show updates if anything has happened here!! I'm really excited to see how it pans out in future!!
Un tren RC, también se puede hacer RC los cambios de vías, y sectores de energización de vías, puentes elevadizos de vias, hay muchas aplicaciones, estaria excelente si lo pasas a un software de esambladores en una computadora o aplicaciones o tablet...
I think if this was remade, I'd have the ending be this way: The whistle celebration is kept, and the camera fades to the Thunderbolt's name plate. There is then a crossfade to one month later. The camera pulls out to show that the Thunderbolt now rests as a static display in a glass shed/repurposed greenhouse at Titfield, just as a new steam engine rolls into the station with new rolling stock, hinting that the railway has thrived still. We see where everyone is now; Sam is enjoying the work but it's clear he's better suited to being a pastor rather than an engine driver. Harry and Joan talk about renting the train for a wedding procession in the next coming week, which Sam says he'd be honored to have that be his last day as an engine driver, and he mentions how the squire (I forget his character name) is working his way from guard to engine driver. Marples makes an appearance at the end by parking his car near the station parking lot in an area that's heavily marked as "LOADING ZONE ONLY, NO PARKING." He comes up to Sam and is pleasant in front of the passengers before he turns and says "You won this one, but this silly little branchline will be erased from the face of the earth. I'll make sure of it." Suddenly CRASH!!! the camera cuts back to Marple's car being squashed by an ex-Pierce & Krupp delivery lorry. Sam smirks, Marples leaves to throw a fit at the lorry driver, but a nearby constaple is there to write a few tickets to Marples for knowingly parking in a no parking area. Marples looks down and sees a discarded ticket reading "The Titfeild-Mallingford Light Railway." In his anger he crushes it under heel and leaves the scene. The train blows its whistle and it slowly leaves Titfield as the camera slowly rises up before we get the end card saying "The End... for now"
Bro, what is that? That is not 1206 that’s ukhgll 1111
2-8-4T? Quite the large tank engine for Britain, considering before this, the closest would’ve been those 0-8-4T’s Gresley modified with those boosters.
hey man what’s the decal paper you used?
Hiya, it's made by a company called Sunnyscopa and is designed for use with laser printers, hope that helps.
Can you give a rough estimate on the date of the next episode of sudrian spotlight?
Sorry mate I don’t work to a schedule, this is just for fun
What did Perseus do between 1920-1935?
As a kiwi im glad to see Bulleid as the first episode but pretty darn proud that hes from my hometown love the podcast mate
Bulleid is my personal favorite of the steam engineers. He was daring in times of uncertainty.
I strongly recommend every one switch to 2.4 g. It is incredibly more reliable and a pleasure to operate.. I have converted over 200 units and the customers love the detail operate control.. A must ..
An interesting subject will definitely be looking forward to the following episodes
Always interesting thank you. Kings of the steam age. Cor I’d put Riddles, Gresley, Thompson, Hill & probably Stanier. In that ring too.
It is nice to hear a history video on Oliver bulleid do you have a question though when's the next sudrian spotlight
Nice to listen to when modeling a bullied loco
New Railwaymania vid on a real interesting subject. Saturday is complete
Do you know why Edward Thompson rebuilt 10 of the Gresley B17's into his B2's? Was he trying to turn them into mixed traffic engines or make them a passenger variant of his B1? Please respond when you get this please.
Unreliability of conjugated gear, B17 was still express passenger. Changing valve gear and boiler gave B2, changing boiler only gave B17/6. Same thing happened with class O4, which became O4/8 or O1 dependent on how much was changed.
@@Britishrailwaystories So the B2's are a more simplified version of the B17's, and so with the boiler and valve gear changed is what makes the B17's into B2's?
basically yeah
i’ve recently purchased one of these hardys hobbies kits and i have absolutely no idea how to screw it on to its body. i can see theres 2 holea for nuts but i dont know what size i need. could you tell me how you did yours. Thanks alot. Ben.
Hi mate I think they are 12BA or 10BA nuts - I usually get mine from ebay
@@RailwayManiaNet Thank you very much I will get searching right away.
How can I find titfield thunderbolt and we’re can I find it
I think it's on amazon prime, sometimes BBC iplayer, it's also available on blu-ray
Do you have any tips on painting these models? I want to create my own n class for the NWR, but I dont want to mess up the paint work or get paint in the wheels. Any suggestions would be helpful
Hi mate, I usually use halfords (or similar) rattle cans for primer and colour and usually brush paint the black or fiddly bits with acrylics or enamels.
you should play densha de d
To be honest, for Thunderbolt , it’d make sense to Use a currently operational old engine or one in good mechanical condition, for example , Furness No.20, and it was said Stirling Single No.1 was in good mechanical condition.
Great information spoilt by background music
Great comment
How about James or Toby?
have a look on IG SudrianHistories :)
OK thanks
@@RailwayManiaNet why?
@@Canadiansteamengine43 Because they are both on there
Absolutely love it.
Great fun!
In Melbourne, the budding railways were privately developed and then they all folded and were taken over by the government who operated it until around the mid nineties when they were privatized. It was starved of funds during the 1960s to mid 1970s when the Loop was constructed. In that time (the 1960s) a lot of roads were being built and it was considered that the car was the most relevant transport mode. I wish we had all these railways created in the 1920s-1930s, but we were spared the one-upmanship and rivalry. We also lacked the population to make railways profitable for private investors.
some tech YTs waffle too much. Some are very speculative, based on rumours. This probably happens because the content creator is the 25th creator on one camera, laptop etc and needs to distinguish it from the others. Some cat videos are videos of cats placed in situations by humans, such as putting cats heads in plastic bag loops and film them running around, sometimes the cats have done this on their own.
To anyone not aware Harris hobies has sadly shut down
Lovely project ❤
Glad you like it!
Love the video! Do you need to do anything to the decal paper out once it’s out of the printer or are you good to go?
Thank you, no other than what you see in the video that’s it
