As we get ready for another season of New York Jets football, let's reflect on the team's recent past with Joe Benigno, the voice of the Jet's long-suffering fanbase. We can only hope that Joe continues his rants this year and maybe, just maybe, he can celebrate a Super Bowl sometime soon.

Joe B rants are classic. Im a Giants and Mets fan. I like seeing the Jets lose. The Jets are talkers every year. Faster stronger greener. My Giants have 4 superbowl wins.
0:35 actually it's been about 13 years since the Jets sniffed the SuperBowl. They went to Back to Back AFC Championship games. Now as far as Winning a SuperBowl, that's been over 50 years
Did this guy ever play the game beyond Little League? No wonder most fans think he's great. They identify with him because they never played the game either.

The crazy thing about this is that this was created 4 years ago, yet they are timeless. You can plug these rants into the 4 years that followed and probably for the next 20 years after. As Kermit said, "It ain't easy being green!"
I picture that is what Joe looked like every Monday morning during football season for decades on his way to WFAN.
Marino probably would've put the Jets over the top, but at the same time, Marino is proof that you can have the best QB in the game (plus the winningest coach ever) and still not win a Super Bowl! It's a tough league, and so much comes down to timing. But Dan never had a defense like the Sack Exchange, as you mention. Pennington was damn good until he started getting hurt. He was the complete opposite of Brady in terms of injury luck, but I don't think he was much less talented, especially not early on. Injured AND talented enough to win Comeback Player of the Year twice!

I agree with you 100%. Perfect evaluation of the Jets and their unfortunate QB decisions. To me Pennington was the best QB in my lifetime. I was born in 1988.
Aaron Rodgers has been injured in the past but was still able to play games.
I was about to say why does everyone forget about Christian Hackenberg. But u did mention Hackenberg, the Jets drafted him and thought he could be the future.

Absolutely! Of course, that was not due to draft and roster-management stupidity. That was more the effect of hiring a shitty coach and not having the front office strength to tell him to tank. But yes, having Trevor Lawrence with this team would make us automatic Super Bowl contenders.

Not a Jets fan but I keep an eye on them because my dad was, and I really sympathize with you guys, but, as a Washington fan I tell you earnestly and emphatically that you do NOT want Carson Wentz.
Well, I know he has sucked, but Zach produced arguably the worst B play that I have ever seen. Our offense was basically non-existent last year (see NE games). At least Wentz can sporadically read the field and make throws. But even it is not Wentz, the Jets needs somebody who can they plug in and try to run an NFL offense.
@williamcladley9775 agreed, but I watched Wentz all the way from training camp through last season, and he is now just an older, slower version of Zach Wilson.
Ugh...then we're screwed. Not sure we'd fare better with Matt Ryan or Phillip Rivers.
