Ive done a few free dives myself, im no pro but how you handled that shot and the cat could have gotten you hurt. The shot placement hitting the tail area wasnt ideal but you managed to deal with it.

A local tavern used to have turtle soup. We used to catch them and sell them to him or trade for a bar tab or two... 👌👀👍

I'm in NW Missouri. Grew up 3 mile from the Mo river. My favorite spot was similar to this. Had amazing luck right at the mouth too.

I live 500 yards from big river. We get channels and flats and it's a nice cool shaded spot

Holy cow! I fished your area once back in 1993 and caught one 58 pounder the last day of a week long stay......I must have made literally 5000 casts and about wore myself out, and I was young then! These live scopes sure make it easier to locate fish. Thanks for the video.

You sure they don’t spawn in your area February/march? In south east Missouri our run happens in mid February and early March.

In NW Wisconsin we try to find dead elm trees but unfortunately, most elm trees have been dead and gone for a long time due to Dutch elm disease. I have had the most luck around ash trees for morels. Ash are very easy trees to find and fairly abundant around here.

That's great you caught all those fish! Don't eat any of them. That water in Lake of the Ozarks has high levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, pesticides, herbicides, possibly e-coli and PFAS's. Your local, state, and federal governments let industrial agriculture, meat processing plants, and large manufacturing plants use our waterways as open sewers because they don't care about fishermen, only how much revenue they can collect for their salaries, benefits, and retirements. Sorry.
