These short little sessions in the movie are heart warming and nice. I really enjoy watching these and they are my favorite parts in the movie. So here they are. The "Soloist's" in this song are Rosario Dawson(Mimi)and Adam Pascal(Roger).

As someone who's been in a support group for the past two years, if some rando showed up one day who doesn't have the stuff were struggling with and asked to film the whole meeting for his "Art", he'd be shamed out of the room so freaking fast. THIS is the new thing in RENT that has aged the worst for me. The message of the scene is obviously lovely, but my god Mark's presence is so freaking insidious.
Cool
Dean Portman of the Mighty Ducks?
Here in 2024❤
Hear, hear! ❤

I love, love, love this scene and song. The harmonies. The sentiment. So much.
2024 still watching! And crying!
What I think of every single day. Also unfortunately I know it will happen
2024 still listening to this song. The beginning of this song is so moving
🫶🏽
I love this song. I played it a lot during the COVID pandemic when all those people were getting so sick and dying and freezers were being used at morgue I felt so hurt for those families and friends of the deceased and the lockdowns didn't help . Those left behind couldn't see their dying loved ones in the hospital to say goodbye or have a proper funeral. That had to have been a nightmare that I couldn't have imagined.
I cry so hard seeing Tom Collins holding the dying Angel at the hospital. I think about poo Freddie Mercury dying the same way.
is she singing to mark or heroin? i can never figure that out
EVERYONE HAS AIDS
When you easily find T-cells in your blood, that means you have some kind of an infection in your blood. When your T-cells are low, that actually means your blood is clean. The fact that he feels the best he has in a long time actually means he's healthy again. AZT was a drug that was considered "too aggressive" for cancer, because it killed off patients too quickly. Most patients ended up putting Tic-Tacs in their AZT pill boxes. HIV is really just intravascular flu, typically contracted by being stung by a needle rubbed over with the fingers by a doctor. The old cure: 14 to 28 days seaside resort.
2024 and I still love the play/movie/songs. Hoping for a 2026 revival!!!
It really makes me think about the price of freedom. It became more accepted in our society to be free with our bodies and not long after the 70s when that notion occurred, this happened. An epidemic swept through our nation. We need to stop doing 180s. You can be free with your body, but with freedom comes responsibility. Just because society says you can, doesn't mean you should. This shows us what can and did happen to many when that privilege spun out of control. It's heartbreaking. Not just the loss of the lives, but the fear of living with this disease, knowing your days are numbered and this disease could decide to take you at any moment. Freedom is not free.
These life support songs are underrated. The words are eerie and the round seems to manage to capture the ongoing fear and distress the individuals were facing in their thoughts as this diseases roared through their body and their days were feeling numbered. On a different note, while I know HIV and AIDS are still around today, they don't pose the same threat as they did in the 80s and 90s... weird to think how in 2024 this epidemic is now considered history...
Rosario Dawson did an excellent job in this film
Yesterday I gave myself the tattoo “forget regret.”
Sitting here, listening to this. Going through a bunch of crap in life, and this song has been heavy on heart. Thought of just ending it not too long ago. This song breaks me down and made me wake up to reality.
Great song
I've almost died, I dunno how many times, and these songs break my heart. EVERY TIME.
Ahsoka sings beautifully and this video killed me
I was asking similar questions when I was in middle school. I was bullied for being a short (4’6”), intelligent band geek.
UGH! Where’s my lecksapro!
Ugh! Where’s my goda*n prosac!
I love this whole movie and all the songs, but this particular song is the one I cry at. As someone who has lived through a friend slowly fading away before my eyes, turning from a vibrant young man into a wasted emptiness, I totally know how this song feels. We used to talk about this very topic. He accepted his coming journey much better than I did. I miss him everyday. When I became sick and thought it was possible for me to die an early death, this song was actually a bit of a mantra.
I'm not dying or medically ill, but this song hits me hard right now. I'm in my late 30s, divorced, been single for years and just found out I've been declined by the bank to renew the mortgage on the house my ex and I owned (which was my family home for 35 years) in my name which means I'm going to have to move out pretty soon. It's pretty terrifying and depressing to go from being married in a house together to slowly losing it all and having nothing within 2 years.g
I'm sorry to hear this. I hope everything works out
This and Will I are my favorite songs from Rent. Wayne Wilcox has a gorgeous voice. He's best known for his stage work which makes sense considering how theatrical he sings. But these two songs dont have many lyrics or are very long but boy do they pack a punch and a powerful message. Jonathan Larson was a fucking genius. It's sad he didnt live to see Rent become the huge success it became. btw, Anthony Rapp who plays Mark and Wilson Cruz who played Angel in a 1998 production, play an openly gay couple on Star Trek Discovery.
Praise God 🙏👼🕊️ and All of You, for THIS 😎.... The Greatest Musical 🎵🎼🎶 Ever Made 💓
❤
Who else came here after seeing tick, tick, boom from Netflix? During the movie, I couldn’t help searching hidden little parts related to rent.
Will I lose my dignity Will someone care Will I wake tomorrow From this nightmare When I listen to this heartbreaking song, I think about today's issues. COVID, homelessness, police brutality, broken trust, and a fucked up government. Will we wake tomorrow from this nightmare 😞💔🔫 🪦
I can forgive a lot of things but not how Roger treats Mimi! She's detoxing and he's happy because she's turned a new leaf but then he has an argument with her because she buys more drugs. It's never stated how long she's been on drugs but she's more than likely using them as a coping mechanism for something! I'm only guessing that because every time something bad happens she seems to turn to the drugs aka breaking up with Roger (the first time), arguing with Roger (about the drugs) obviously Angel's death and despite Roger knowing all this or if he doesn't he should be able to figure it out as an ex drug addict himself he's still a dickhead towards her! xxx
This has been on here for 16 years….. every time I see it I still cry
I can't help but fall apart every time when this song plays. It's so raw and emotional.
Don't take anything for granted. No Day But Today
Ive been in the position(twice) where you have to wet the lips of a loved one just to provide some comfort in their last few hours. God this one hits hard.
I love this song.
Roger walking through that door 👏 Such a huge step a lot of people don’t make. Gets me every time!
Favorite song in the movie
No Day But Today! A message that we all need to be reminded of, especially in the times that we're living in! No regrets! Love life to the fullest and as if each day is our last! Thank you for this beautiful and powerful song Jonathan Larson! I know you are smiling down from up high! ❤️❤️❤️
Don't be afraid of happiness. Even if it's finite.
I thought this movie was beautifully done. Why does everyone bitch about it?
Is the first singer from the Mighty Ducks?
Yep dean portman
@@aprilfitzpatrick9714it’s also Idina Menzel’s husband. Her first husband is Benny
Really good.
You right I loved the smile on marks face when Roger walked thru the door my heart and love goes to the people that are I'll they will always be close to my heart❤
This song hits really close to home. It’s been a little over 3 years since I attempted suicide and here I am. I overdosed on so many pills, and yet, no need for a stomach pump or medication for years. Just a three day coma. Reason says I should’ve died 3 years ago. But here I am.
Amen, so glad you’re still here :) God bless you, and please know that he loves and cares about you ❤️❤️
I'm so happy you didn't succeed in that venture. You're worth more than you can even imagine. Never give up and keep the world bright with your light, hun.🫂
These songs are the best from the movie, y asociadas a las escenas…
This scene always makes me cry.
Me too!
Awesome musical
