We are a small farm outside of KCMO called Pinhoti Farm. We cut and bale hay and work a small lot of cattle. We are constantly working on the farm from moving around and fixing equipment, feeding cattle and delivering hay. Just another mid west hay farmer showing you how to get stuff done.
Custom Floor Pan Fabrication: Rat Rod Build Part 2
Custom floor pan fabrication is today’s topic. I need a way to secure the floor pan. Since this cab has no floor the options are endless. I decided to add rails along the side and back to raise the cab by an inch. I used some 14g 2x1 rectangle tubing to frame out the future floor.

Rat Rod Build Part 1: New CAB with no Floor
Просмотров 2395 месяцев назад
In today’s video I bought a new cab since the ‘49 was trashed. It is a 1950 with 1951 doors. I go over future plans and show off my cart I made to move around the shop. I struggle to come up with an idea for a floor pan/support system to mount onto the new chassis.

3 Point Hitch With Ball, one of the best investments we’ve made on the farm so far. No need to drag the truck out into the field to load round bales anymore.

Replacing Valve Stem Seals Ford 300 I6 4.9L Using C-Clamp Spring Compressor. In this video I replace the seals on the valve stems before installing the head back onto the block. Any style valve stem compressor will work but the easiest I have found is the C-Clamp style. Very little effort to use the tool. Once you find a rhythm this job is very easy to accomplish.

I have a brother to your Deweze bale wagon and would like to talk to you guys about the pickup and elevator on yours, as it is different from mine. Can you send me an email so we can converse offline? Sorry, not on social media.
@@modirt1412 sure what is your email?
Looks like heart surgery! Our 336 has worked great. I wish it picked up light grass hay a little better, but oh well
It’s actually not as bad as it looks. I love our 336 just wish it had the wider pick up like the 348
C.A.D Cardboard assisted designed 😂
😂😂 that’s one way to look at it!
Nice work bro!!! Do you have any clamps holding the body on ?
Thank you! No all gravity held. Probably not the best design but it’s worked for what I needed so far.
Just buy a new car
Where’s the fun in that?
Yeah, make it electric ⚡️
I’m not that rich!
built a rack for your project to forever sit on? kewl. I guess?
Not forever and not just for the cab. It will have many uses once it’s done. Makes it easier to work on and keep out of the way when I’m not working on it.
Keep it up with the great work!
Thank you! Stay tuned more videos of progress coming.
@@hayryo7874 When's the next update?
@@hayryo7874 With the motor/trans combo a 12v cummins and NV4500 would be nice.
@@eagleacademy3394 the original idea was a 12V and hopefully still is. I just need to find a decent one. Locally it is almost cheaper to buy the whole truck instead of the engine itself.
@@fummins2010 I’m working on the next video right now. Thank you for following along!
Title should be "Installing Positive Stop Rocker Arms.
Thank you so much for your video because it gave the info I needed to get my F250 running!! It's my first Ford to own!!😅😅😅😅
I have a question , I'm buying a zf5 swap for a 92 f-150 with a 351w currently with an e4od. The zf5 is coming from a 6.9 87f-250 is the zf5 bolt pattern the same for all zf5? If so will mount to my 351w ?
Is it normal to turn flywheel?
That thing is sweet. Thanks for sharing that. I’ve never seen one before.
I thought these positive stop rocker arms are non-adjustable? If that’s true, title should read “torquing positive stop rocker arms….” to avoid confusion. There is a lot of confusion on this subject in the forums because people are trying to “adjust” their valves on heads with non-adjustable rocker arms. Torquing the rocker stud nut to spec is not adjusting. Adjusting is an involved process that involves setting lash and preload.
Right. Just torque them down and hope the lifter preload is correct. I was genuinely curious about adjustment methods. They make shims for the pedestal type or you must change pushrod length. For positive stops Comp offers kit 4610-16 I've used this on 302s with success.
thank you for this, i take care of horses but now i help with the hay bails and i needed to know quick to get these stacked best
Do you recall about how many just you got in it for the clutch. Mine grinds going in reverse and is hard going into gear after stopping. Some times grinds 3 and 4.
sounds more like a syncro issue in the trans to me
@@psd28 got it figured out. Clutch was not disengaging.
Thank you!
That's why I'm so confused! I was told to NEVER reuse a dual mass flywheel, and I can't look at it and compare
On a Hey truck you put one vertical and 4 across then you go to the other side put 1 vertical and then floor across the other way Repeat that however many layers.then 4vertical across top.Top row3 horizontal.
Hello, do you know if it is possible to remove the dual mass flywheel and install LuK LFW 128 (LuK 416004011) ???
How did you get the gear shifter loose so the transmission would slide back?
Did you make this trailer? I am wanting to build one. I'd buy your plans
They are built outside Chillicothe Missouri by woodworth trailers
so good! 😂
Getting ready to do a long haul of hay to our new place. While I want to stuff my flatbed trailer full (5 across), 4 across seems wiser, safer & less likely to attract attention from transportation officials. Thank you for the info.
you didnt really tell how to adjust them, i need to identify if mine even has them and what torque to set them to.
I like my manual dump Hayliner, we haul a lot of silage bales and sometimes they won't fall of if they are really heavy, hydraulic dump would be a lot worse because they dump so slow.
Big thanks to you! Just bought a 336 and some parts need to be replaced. Cheers.
You’ll love the 336, it’s a great baler. Be sure to keep it covered if you store it outside and blow it off after hay season. Enjoy!
i put a solid flywheel in my 1993 idi my duel mass flywheel was wore out
The best way to move square bales on and off the field.
I like the chief one that he had the arrow pointing at the bottom at 2 minutes and like 30 seconds or so why do is I take a socket that is bigger than those clips what the head sitting outside like that I think I had when I tap on the back of that socket to Break Free the retainers and that breaks the tension and then I use the spring compression tool to release the spring pressure and I push on the back of the valve in Alaska Lee release the retainers without causing any damage or needing it needing any hemmer work while the Springs compressed your loss praying from Preston you hit it with a hammer it could actually come apart on you and hurt you
Do you still like your hay boss?
Yes we do! It has allowed us to deliver further and people generally take 6 versus 2-4. There’s a way to hook up a wireless winch remote so you never have to get out to dump. We haven’t done this yet but are considering it.
Throw a SMF in it & delete the DMF.
I wanted to do that but the boss didn’t want to pay for it and wait for the parts. We’ve since sold the truck or I would’ve converted to a single.
Doing a swap to a ZF-5 from an E4OD in my '94 E350... is the pilot bearing in the flywheel even if it isn't a dual mass? Also, isn't there a spacer that goes in between the flywheel and the crank? Trying to collect all my data before I attempt this, thanks.
I believe the pilot bearing is in the flywheel regardless of dual mass or not. If you watch my previous videos on the clutch install there is a ring that goes between the bolts and flywheel. I did not have a spacer between the crank and flywheel. Good luck on your swap!
@@hayryo7874 Ok, thatks a bunch

I've done that exact thing with the hammer and socket slipping. You definitely won't make that mistake again!
Sadly it’s not the first time and won’t be the last lol
Killer old truck great find. Thanks for sharing👍👍👍

Where did you get those bolts from? Thats a great idea. Commented on you other video as well about some flywheel parts.
Thanks man! I found them at our small town hardware store surprisingly. It defiantly saved a bunch of time and effort.
@@hayryo7874 i actually have a 2 ft piece of all thread ready to use next time. Cause i know there WILL be a next time w these beasts
I went looking for all thread and couldn’t find any and wound up with those bolts. I know that pain all too well , since this video we’ve had the transmission out twice. I hate to admit we’ve become pros at removing/installing the big ZF5.
@@hayryo7874 i think i have had mine in and out at least 4 times. I cut the connecting exhaust pipe that goes under the motor/trans and made mine into a dual straight pipe. Make getting things in and out a lot easier. Id attach a pic of mine but cant on here. I have a black 1988 f350 extended cab 2x4 dually with a full size bed that is diamond plated entirely, diamond plate running boards, and a zf s5-42 manual with the 7.3 idi non turbo but with a funtional ram intake hood scoop
I just rebuilt my flywheel with some pieces and parts from another DMF. Started it today and sounds like there is too much play now. I had 3 broken springs before. My question is this. Do you know of anywhere that sells the nylon spring ends and that rubber bumper that slides through the springs? I have looked everywhere to no avail.
Ours looked worn on one and we thought about replacing them. We looked for replacements ourselves and were in the same boat. I think my brother might’ve found some but I cannot recall where or a part #. I will get ahold of him and let you know ASAP.
@@hayryo7874 that would be awesome. I really really appreciate it. I even went so far as to buy a block of composite nylon and take a digital set of calipers to all 12 of the spring ends and found the median range to make my own if they cant be found elsewhere. But now...ill wait and see if they can be ordered. That would be a lot less of a headache. Great videos btw. That dual mass is a b**ch for sure. Looked into ordering a new one and it was around 800.00+.
7:25 trusty hammer. The other is not trustworthy.
doing good man keep up the good work
Thanks man!
Quick question I have the same transmission. Can I buy the 11 inch clutch or do I have to go with the 12 inch that’s already installed Is a tow truck
Need to buy the 12” if that’s already in your truck. The 11” would require a different flywheel than the 12” hope that helps.
Thanks for your time.Have a good day!
