Ep. 5 | Radios and Intercom in an A320 Home Cockpit | Just One More Thing | Flight Sim Setup
Episode five of our "Just One More Thing" mini-series covers the audio system implemented in our A320 home cockpit, including the radios and the intercom.
From allowing you to tune frequencies, to communicating with the ground crew, the Radio Management Panel (RMP) and the Audio Management Panel offer a wide variety of features. Discover how the complex audio system implemented in the JeeHell FMGS freeware we are using to model our A320 facilitates communication between pilots, with ATC, and with online friends.

How much did this cost??

I’ve looked through the website but I do wish there was a page that could give the overall price for a sim, I don’t really want to add everything up since there are many parts.
Yes, depending on what you select it might be anywhere between $50k and $100k.
Where did you get this?

@@captaintango quick question where did you buy the whole simulator from?
Imagine if he has that for each plane 😂😂😂 bro be broke
And I wouldn't know which one to fly. This makes it easy to pick.
where did you get the buttons, knobs and toggle switches? If you bought, can you tell me where??
I bought my cockpit from a company in Germany (Vier-Im-Pott) which resells the electronic modules from Skalarki (www.skalarki-electronics.com/en/onlineshop/category.html).
The spinning pitch wheel is the coolest part of the whole thing
I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
2:56 Where did you get the phone?
You have to be on the lookout for when parts like that (the cabin interphone in this case) randomly come up on sites selling parts reclaimed from real aircrafts. Also there can be a wide range in the price asked for those. I got the interphone from a company in the Netherlands (Blackbird Aviation). I have integrated a few real parts in the cockpit: ruclips.net/video/7ZoYr3JRpxc/видео.html
@@captaintango Alr ty!
Hi iam 13 and i dreamed to become a pilot like you to pilot a boeing and with the money i saved whenn grew up i aslo dreamed to built a home cockpit like you and thanks that you mentioned the boeing and airbus cockpits
And does LNAV and VNAV work
And how much it costs bro
Follow your dream!
Yes LNAV and VNAV both work.
The cost will vary based on the options you pick but I paid around $70k for my setup. I started saving for it almost 10 years ago.
is the radio and transponder panel plug and play? or does it have to be customized? also is the site you bought them from trustworthy??
The electronic modules I used are from Skalarki, which has been in business for many years and is very reputable. Regarding their "plug & play" use, that will depend on the simulator platform and A320 model you'd like to use. For P3D and X-Plane the most common A320 models (FSL, Aerosoft, Toliss, etc.) are directly supported, making the experience "plug & play". Now, for FS 2020, most people would like to use the Fenix A320. As you might now, until recently, the use of "home cockpit" hardware was not allowed due to the license agreement between Fenix and ProSim. This has recently changed and I would expect that with time more Skalarki modules will be supported. I believe the initial focus was on FCU/EFIS and MCDU.
Is this finished? if not you could try adding cockpit windows and dividers so it looks more immersive
Great suggestion but unfortunately there is just not enough space left in that room to add a shell. Maybe in the next house...
How much do all the items cost?❤
You can find more info about the cost of my setup in this video: ruclips.net/video/ZeIV5dp3UBo/видео.html
where do you get all these parts from?
There are actually quite a few vendors. You can find a list of parts and their suppliers at www.flightpathsimulation.club/a320-parts-list/
Wallet is on fire
Just follow the ECAM messages, it will be fine.
Thanks for this video and your transparency. I wish you many wonderful retirement years ahead, captain!
Thanks for your kind words. Much appreciated!
tell me you're rich without telling me you're rich in 4 mins or less If you can't tell I'm jealous
I guess it's all in the eyes of the beholder. If there is anything I'm trying to "tell" it is to inspire people to build a cockpit like this if that's something they are really interested in. Personally it was a dream of mine for a long time and I set some money aside a long time ago to be able to finance it: ruclips.net/video/ZeIV5dp3UBo/видео.html
@captaintango absolutely agree, At the moment I'm going through the motions to do the real thing but having access to this is my dream, maybe a little down the road but yeah.
Nothing beats the real thing I'm sure. It was never an option for me though. Good luck for the future! Who knows what it might bring.
Hi Man. I am a captain based out of India and would like to have a 737 sim at my academy could you please help me with same.

If you have additional questions I would suggest using the Contact Us form on our website: www.flightpathsimulation.club/contact-us/
In the Airbus A320 family, the engine master switches are located on the center pedestal, behind the throttle levers. Are they not prone to accidental flip? I would rather have them higher up for safety not to be able to flip by accident during the flight. What is your opinion?
The key switches are "gated", meaning that you have to lift them before you can physically move them. It's the case for the engine master switches as well as the flaps, parking brake, weather radar, and a few others. So there is no risk of flipping them accidentally.
damn that is fireeeee
Thanks. It's a lot of fun for sure.
Where do you even buy all this stuff?

That door. Ha! *clicks pen*
I'm glad you liked it!
i'm wondering could this be used with x-pane?
Absolutely. I don't have any direct experience but the hardware is supported in X-Plane. One possible challenge would be around running all the cockpit instruments (most cockpit builder software allows you to run those on separate computers).
@@captaintango i'll fugure out that later, i need tose +100k for the cockpit first, LOL, my pilot salary won't buy it in less than two years.

Most of the electronics is from Skalarki. The structural components, sidesticks, and rudder pedals are from Vier-Im-Pott. The seats are from OpenCockpits.
Yeah, thinking back to it, that's how I started. With a mouse and keyboard lol. Then got a sidestick, then got a throttle, then got a rudder pedal, then a radio panel, multi panel and it just doesn't stop. There's always that "one more thing and that's it" that your simulator needs. 😅
