    Only in America... Land of the Free... Where everything is political and you can't drive a vehicle that suits you best. How ironic that Americans restrict their own freedoms when in communist countries such as china, people are free to buy what ever they want without judgement. Anyways, really enjoyed your stories and I am glad to hear you are enjoying the lightning. They are truly amazing trucks. Hopefully, more people such as yourself fight the myth that the vehicle you drive actually has anything to do with politics. As you said, EV's are not for everyone just yet, especially if you do a lot of long distance driving. But if it does suit your use case and you have the ability to install a level 2 charger at home, EV's are an amazing choice.

      I couldn’t agree more. The money savings are a huge plus. With my latest purchase, I was worried, knowing my Chevy trade in was severely upside down. But not having to pay for DEF fluid, Diesel fuel, and oil changes, it has actually saved me overall. Truth be told, I have been driving this as my work vehicle the last couple of months, even knowing my actual work truck offers free fuel. I may not be saving in a financial aspect, but I cannot get over the comfort of my daily drive. Ive told others, this vehicle hits all benefits. You get the feel of a Cadillac, the power of a high end sports car, and the benefits of a full size truck. Although there are many options today, I truly believe for the money, the F150 Lightning is the best option available.

    The 45 acp compact xdm Springfield elite has a 9,10 and a 13rd magazine option. However, you can also buy an extension sleeve that makes your handgrip full size if needed. Though, you want to make sure its compatible with your base plate because you can modify each base plate for seasonal concealment as well.

But over recent months I had found the elite mag bottoms, which allow for one more round, making the XDM 10+1. In addition, it provides a full grip to handle, if people are not comfortable with the two finger grip

      @californiahigh-desertconce7999 - Exactly, although I like glocks better, because they are proven by police forces nationwide. @Cabron444 yeah, I’m sort of a fan of both. Actually all guns for that matter. The only knock on Glock that I had, especially going for the Glock, 30, or the 29, is how thick it was inside the waist. I tend to appendix carry, so it left a little discomfort, compared to my others. I can’t attest though, both have fired thousands and thousands of rounds, and never failed me yet. I do agree, Glock definitely has the long track record.

    Would the 40 being a higher pressure round be a problem?. I know it's not a glock it's all steel so it's alot less likely to go kaboom. But will the frame start to Crack or anything I just got a gi 1911 in 45. But have plenty of .40 s&w ammo. Also in terms of reliability. Would it be possible to carry for ccw?

    • @californiahigh-desertconce7999
      @californiahigh-desertconce7999 10 месяцев назад

      I wouldn’t see any concerns shooting the .40. I own a few 1911’s in 10mm (one of which I built on an aluminum frame), and they shoot my reloads on a steady diet at 1300+ fps. If you are doing a full swap out, I would recommend a 18.5lb recoil spring, along with a 26lb hammer spring. The recoil will be similar to shooting a 9mm, and will protect the frame from being battered. Trigger pull may have a slight increase in lbs with this change, but you’d have to really pay attention - to even notice it. However, if just shooting 100 to 200 rounds on a monthly basis, I wouldn’t worry about a thing. That frame should last a few generations.

    Nice video, but the word quality is being used incorrectly. Thicker is not necessarily better! Quality is conformance to a standard. If the Glock component was thicker it would demonstrate poor quality. Reason being that is how it was designed. After SA is around as long as Glock, and enjoyed the same market share then and only then can your point be proven. Additionally alloys and internals are made from different metals as well. As a metrology professor I would suggest that a deeper dive is required with respect to quality. One thing not mentioned is the grip safety. Great Idea until it fails! I do not have a horse in the race but with Glock having a market share with police and the military we need to . ask why? Me thinks there is a reason for the scales being tipped in the favor of Glock.

    • @californiahigh-desertconce7999
      @californiahigh-desertconce7999 Год назад

      Thank you for the reply. But I didn’t want to go into too much of the metallurgy aspects of each, knowing it may provide a loss of interest from a traditional gun review. Especially knowing we are talking about handguns. But for a better breakdown, the gen 3 Glock parts are made from 416 stainless steel, along with the barrel being 416r stainless. The Springfield XDM parts are made from Billet steel, which I believe in comparison is known to be a much stronger steel. The XDM 3.8” barrel is made from hammer forged 4140 steel. Which although both the stainless (Glock) barrel, and the (XDM) 4140 hammer forged barrels can provide benefits for one over the other, barring rust treatment needs for the XDM barrel requiring a bit more attention, in theory the 4140 forged barrel will produce longer life. The stainless barrel used in Glocks however, may produce better accuracy. But where that margin can be minimized, is knowing the XDM barrel has been cut to better tolerances, being a match grade barrel. However, with all that said, we are talking about handguns. The chance that an average shooter can shoot the parts out from either gun, the cost of the ammo needed, would make the subject irrelevant, knowing what that individual could likely afford. As far as the grip safety, I personally have not had any experiences with the failures I’ve read about in the past. But considering the design of the 1911 providing the same safety mechanism, and the longevity those handguns have provided over 100+ years, I haven’t felt any concern. At the end of the day, it’s about what the shooter enjoys more. Their are Glock fanatics, and their are Springfield fanatics. Whichever preference an individual has, they should feel confident they have a pistol that will likely pass through generations. With regards to contracts, that can be a suspect topic, which can be misleading at times. Many, if not all contracts are influence by money, and overall costs. It is a no brainer that Glocks provide less expensive parts, less parts, and the brainpower to bring one back to life, a competent 8 year old could piece one back together. Springfield, not so much. A good example of a handgun that had won the FBI contract for the Hostage Rescue Team, came down to being the Springfield HRT 1911. Manufacturing in mass quantity essentially granted Springfield the contract. But the gun that beat Springfield in nearly every category was the Les Baer S.R.P. However, keeping to the one Gun, one Smith mentality that has been the trademark for the Les Baer 1911’s, they admittedly could not keep up with the demands/requirements needed for the FBI. Another good example was the FBI switching from the 40 s$w ammo, back to the 9mm. When reading through the entire report, they clearly mention the bigger diameter bullet of the 40 was still greater than the 9mm. However, with the progress made over the years with the 9mm, it had developed enough to fit within the requirements needed to be an affective round. Again, justifying the savings in cost.

      I’d say for target shooting, it may be ok. But the larger breech face of the slide would be much wider, possibly casing feeding issues. In addition, the 45 acp recoil spring would be arguably much too strong. Typically with 9mm, I have better success with a 10-12lb recoil spring. In the case of 9mm you may be best to getting a 9mm top assembly (9mm complete slide, barrel, recoil spring, and a 9mm slide stop. One thing to look out for, is to make sure the barrel you purchase matches the frame. There are two types of ramped barrels (Clark para ramped & Wilson Nowland), as well as a 3rd option, being a non ramped barrel (which would be the traditional style barrel resembling what the majority of 45 acp 1911s come with). The frame of your 1911 would be the indicator, as well as your stock barrel that is currently in your gun.

    H&K USP .40 I’m 52 bought it when I was 21. I have no clue how many rounds I’ve put through it I assume well over 20K rounds. A couple years ago I replaced recoil spring just because. Never ever had any issues with it nor do I expect to. Yeah a couple hundred more but it’s amazing what you get when compared to other manufacturers.

      Most definitely. HK’s are, in my opinion - some of the best pistols on the roster. Now currently, we only can purchase p2000 variants, which I love. Not to many manufacturers provide a recoil spring with so much life.

      Glocks, Springfields, Kimbers, CZ’s, S&W’s, Sigs, HK’s, Dan Wesson, RIA’s, custom 1911’s, Juggernaut Tactical, Remington, Typhoon, Belgium Browning, rugers, Colt (army). I think that’s about it. If you wanting to know my favorite? As crazy as it sounds, I love Kimbers. Currently have 4 1911 Kimbers, a revolver (K6s 3”), And am counting down my 10 day waiting period (California law) to bring home a Kimber Warrior II. Knowing 1911’s all work off the same build, Kimbers just feel they were built for my hands. As far as calibers, they range from 9mm, 357 mag, 357 sig, 40 s&w, 45acp, 10mm, & 44 Long Colt. Rifles, I’m not real fond of. I have a few 22lr’s, a 7mm REM mag, a 12 gauge, and a 9mm carbine.

      @@californiahigh-desertconce7999 Same here! I own several handguns of all the makes you list, plus more like Beretta, but no rifles, as they don't do anything for me. That is why the worst gun law I want struck down by the Supreme Court is the stupid California Handgun Roster!

      Agreed. I am the same way. I love handguns, but not so much of the rifles. It’s funny you mention Beretta’s. I had owned the Px4 storm for a while, and regrettably got rid of it. It just seemed a bit bulky, but did shoot really well. I do keep trying to talk myself into the Beretta 92. Which I may get down the road. Lately I’ve had a really sickness for the 1911 handguns. I just picked up a Kimber Warrior II last week, which I absolutely love.

      @@californiahigh-desertconce7999 Lol, I grew up in Pennsylvania, and my dad would take me hunting as a kid, and I hated it! I hated the cold and shooting the rifles and shotguns. Once I turned 21, I started shooting and collecting handguns, and just love it, and never looked back. I own 7 Beretta's including a 92FS.

      Pennsylvania is a beautiful place. I have worked out there a couple of times, and of course went to enjoy a few Steelers games. Growing up in California, I did not have much of a shooting environment. I was sort of a late bloomer. I started off with rifles, and, like you, I did not enjoy them much. I ended up grabbing a handgun, for the CCW purpose. From that point, I was hooked. I went through my Glock phase, and then started moving on to other brands, finally settling on the 1911s. Somehow they all feel custom built for my hands.
