WV#124 : getting back to work with TUSHARS 100k just a few weeks away
Просмотров 23728 дней назад
Went out on Friday after work chasing some miles. Took the legs out on some trails I've never run before and it was a great little loop. Getting back to running after an ankle roll is tough. I rarely ever roll my ankle so I always forget just how nagging these types of injuries can be. I have just about 3 weeks until Tushars 100k and the hope is that somehow I get a few big vert days in between...
Another Reason For REDEMPTION : DNFing the Bighorn 100
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.Месяц назад
Running 100 miles through the mountains is hard. Running 100 miles through the mountains with the flu was something I thought my experience and will to finish would carry me through, but I was sorely mistaken. I got into Sheridan on Thursday, the day before the run, and picked up my bib and all the fun Bighorn swag. The 8 hour drive from Utah wasn't that bad compared to some drives I've done in...

WV#122 : 82 mile PEAK WEEK is in the books as the BIGHORN 100 inches closer

With Bighorn right around the corner, my training load has hit its peak! This week, I logged 82 miles with over 15,000 feet of vertical gain on trails, plus another 7-8,000 feet on the treadmill. My long run for the week was over 28 miles with 8,500 feet of gain, covering every kind of terrain. I'm feeling particularly comfortable on mud and soft ground, which is abundant in Utah right now as t...

This past Saturday, I set out to Rock Canyon with hopes of completing a 32-mile loop I had mapped out on Strava. The success of this run hinged on whether Squaw Peak Road was still buried in snow or if enough had melted to allow a clear passage. I knew one section would be challenging, so I cautiously made my way to where I hoped the snow would have ended. Unfortunately, by the time I reached t...
WV#119 : UNBOXING Adidas Terrex Agravic Speed and Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes

After unboxing the Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra and getting some miles in on them I knew I had to try more of the offerings from Adidas. I needed a new shoe for the treadmill and so I took the opportunity to get both a road shoe in the Adizero Boston 12 and their other trail offering in the Terrex Agravic Speed. This time I knew to order at least half a size down since in my experience and the co...

WV#117 : 150 Mile review of the Summit VECTIV Pro 2 from The NORTH FACE
Просмотров 5672 месяца назад
This week I ventured up to 9,600ft on the Cascade Saddle. Last year this route was absolutely demolished by big avalanche slides and mostly unaccessible until nearly July. This year I am taking advantage of a lighter winter and getting up in the alpine much earlier than in 2023. This week I also talk about the North Face Summit VECTIV Pro 2 that I have been wearing the last 4-6 weeks. I've put ...

I took my wife and daughter to Maine this past weekend to meet my dad and his side of the family. It was a great trip and I was even able to find some time to get some miles in. I had my dad drop me off at Thorncrag so I could get some trail miles and then I ran home from there.
WV#115 : VERY IMPRESSED with the Adidas Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra
Просмотров 3,3 тыс.3 месяца назад
Putting on the Adidas Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra at home initially left me skeptical. The peculiar sensation in the heel and the oversized fit for a size 9 didn't inspire confidence. However, once I hit the trails, these shoes quickly proved their worth. Ascending uphill, the Energy Rod filled super foam provided an ideal cushioning experience. Their extreme lightweight construction made it fee...

WV#102 : A Special Day ONE WEEK From Running For 24 HOURS
I made the same call on Tushars this year. Hopefully will do it next year on the original course.
Same here! I need that Delano summit 🏔️
I did this exact route in my first year of hiking. Had a panic attack on top of white baldy, because I got stuck trying to get down from there. It took a long time to get down, but I lived!
Haha yeah it’s a tough route toward the summit
So gorgeous up there in the morning 🤩🤩🤩
It’s the best!
You like that hydration pack dude? Looks solid and roomy! What is the model name? I'm looking for something like that.
I love it! It’s the pursuit 15 from black diamond. I’ve used it for a few hundreds and all my big training days
@@psillyrunner8650 Super thanks!
That pond area up there is gorgeous!
Lake Mary!
I'm surprised how green everything still it. Love the trails!
Snow just melted up there so it’s all still nice and green
Looked for you at the Volunteer meeting in the gym the other week….looks like you had a great week in the San Juan’s! Long run yesterday, then left my poles leaning up against the truck and drove away…we all fuck up….thanks for the content as always🎉!
I was off on the far side sitting with Rick. Sorry we missed each other this year. If I’m not running next year I’ll hopefully be back at Chapman! And that sucks about your poles!!
It was a day! I need to go back as well, I missed cut off at Dry Fork inbound. Your anger at the mud and water in your last in race clip... I felt that. Ha! Better luck next try! It is a gorgeous course.
Haha yeah my feet were driving my emotions for a while there 😂😂 I’ll be going back in the next few years for sure. And at least you left Sally’s. That was way too daunting for me at the time.
@@psillyrunner8650 The wall out was not fun! I'm hoping for revenge in '26, Maybe I'll see you out there!
Sherman. Yes. American Basin. Alright! Grizzly Gulch. Wow! Beautiful trails and gorgeous nature out there! Love it!
Definitely one of the highlight sections along the course!
Great training run and video!
Thanks Anthony!!
No calories? check. No sleeping bag? check. Let's do this!
Haha the Hardrock attitude right there 💪🏻
hellyeah!
Cheers mate great review I was on the fence on the lite ones but now ill avoid, got loads of training I want to put them through the pain on and dont want them to break so will get the ultratrail FX one :)
Thank you sir! The FX one is definitely the way to go 🏔️🏃🏼💪🏻
It wouldn't be hard to come up with an excuse to go on a run, hike or ride out there. Lucky guy to have such a beautiful area to play/ train in.
It’s my once a year trip to heaven!
Such a beautiful area! Great job running around out there!
It’s my favorite place I’ve ever been!
One of these years you'll be running the race for real!
Hopefully next year 🤞🏻
SEASON 4! Great to see you out at Sherman this year! Stoked for another year of chasing the dream and hopefully getting in for 2025!
Great seeing you too brother!! Got my fingers crossed for you too
Gorgeous!! Have a fun weekend out there!
So much fun!
these little yellowjackets kind of beasts! they do not dissapoint… am i right?! Have fun out there volunteering HR100. Great nature, great party keep on!
Volunteering was a blast! Hopefully I’ll be running next year 🏔️🏃🏼💪🏻
Glad you got out on the ankle! I hope the new roll didn't make the previously role more rolely polely.
Ankle is probably 95% back to normal!
I went back and listened, but I couldn't tell over the music. I'll take your word for it though, moo.
It was so much better in person!
Great seeing you down there man. Was a tough day in there. Great video and you’ll be back stronger
Great seeing you too Rob! Hoping we’ll be at the same race again soon! Good luck on your big year this year and congrats on the Bighorn finish 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Great video! My one friend says, DNF means do not forget. I find there is so much to be learned in these events. They don’t always go as planned and you can take all the learnings and come back even stronger. Keep at it! Love your videos.
Thank you Holly and I hope you’re doing well!! Hopefully I won’t get the flu before Tushars in a few weeks! I’m ready to comeback much stronger 💪🏻💪🏻
I need like a 50% discount. I’m not a good enough runner to even wear these. Someone hook it up! I’ll buy used!
Sorry you had to drop but awesome effort pushing though as far as you did, not feeling well and with messed up feet. Now you have a reason to go back! Glad you have your qualifier from Fatdog, good luck in the HR lottery!
Thank you Mo! I watched your video a lot before the race. One of the best BH100 vids out there 👌🏻👌🏻
@@psillyrunner8650 Thanks! Maybe we'll meet at Hardrock next year, fingers crossed!
You can do Ouray 100.
I’d like to try one day! Just hard because it’s so close to Hardrock and I don’t have infinite PTO haha
@@psillyrunner8650 I meant to get your qualifier for next year. Want to come out and pace me for Silverheels 100? Get that mileage in for Europe. I can recommend some race for you in Europe.
You are amazing!!!! I’m so proud of you, regardless of a total finish 🩷🩷
Thank you, beautiful! I love you ❤️❤️
Seriously- haters are a bit pathetics. I guess we both know it’s unavoidable- little people will hate if you have public visibility (usually anonymously…). I just shrug it off and ignore - if finishing 32 / 32 100 milers in 30 months doesn’t impress them…they are clearly not runners. It’s just the sad reality of life that some people feel so bad about themselves that they need to try and bring other down.
Yeah chances are if you put yourself out there someone is going to tell you they think you suck. It’s sort of a joke for me on my channel at this point. And congrats on all those hundreds! That’s such a crazy accomplishment!!
The Rd never said the race was cancelled. There was always that possibility…and then it opened.
I haven’t rewatched my video, but Im pretty sure I went over how waiting has bit me in the past so I just didn’t want to wait and have the run not happen.
It's not an adventure if you know how it ends. Kudos on the effort.
Think I should change the title? Gimme a suggestion if so.
@@psillyrunner8650 The title is perfect as it. The quickest way to never succeed is to never try. Well done.
what camera are you using
The Insta360 Ace Pro
Brutal times man. Future races will definitely be better!
It was a beatdown. it was my first ultra and I also dropped at Sally's. Just learned a ton along the way. At mile 55, my energy fell off a cliff and my feet were equally destroyed. That stretch back to Sally's was incredibly painful on the feet. Live and learn.
It’s a tough sport! Live and learn 💪🏻
That timing of getting sucks but oh well. Shit happens. I’m running the 70k at Tushars. I’ll look out for you on trail!
I’ll see you out there! Have you seen the course changes??
Just saw the email about the course changes. Looks pretty significant. I’ve never run it anyway, so I won’t know the difference. Delano peak sounded awesome though. Maybe I’ll try to hike it on my time while I’m there. If I survive the high altitude.
From your Point of View the race was started quite at the wrong moment. So don’t be disapointed that much… in this special case and with some understanding and looking back it was a great job you have made out there. You will come back stronger. Leaving the flu/deamons behind… anyway thx for sharing my friend.
Yeah it was tough not to be disappointed in the moment with how I was still sick, but now I’m just excited to go back one day. I’m sure I’ll feel great for Tushars at the end of July and looking forward to that!
Great video my friend! Beautiful trails. Parts of it looked quite exposed. Can only imagine how hot it can get without cloud coverage. Still, this is a race that I've got my eye on. Thanks for sharing!
Definitely out in the sun for a while in certain sections. But the vibes are great and the course is so beautiful. Definitely will be going back to this one eventually.
🔥 🔥 🔥
Love the honesty, being sick is the worst. Hope you recover well and enjoy the next one!
Thank you 🙏🏻 feeling much better now and looking forward to training for Tushars!
@@psillyrunner8650 Glad to hear it, myself and a buddy are doing the 100km Fatdog and I found your full 120M video! Hoping it goes well! It looks stunning!
2:33 There's a nice collection of hydration vests and quivers...... and response to the reliably / better quivers ??
Thanks for the shoutout, BROSKI!! Proud of you for giving it a go after the sickness. Glad we got to hang and catch up! You're going to bounce back! Recover well, bud!
Glad we got to catch up too, brother! Congrats again on a phenomenal performance up there! Proud as hell of you dude!
Frickity Frick! Not easy to get these big dogs done with less than perfect health. But look at the that beautiful Baby, you are a blessed man! Hope to see you at Champman or somewhere in the Hardrock arena soon bro.
Truly blessed! I’m placed out at Sherman this year so I’ll be a little out of the way but I’ll be in Silverton Thursday night and Friday day. Let’s meet up if we can for sure!
Woohoo! I made it in the movie!!! Good effort out there! Bummer about the DNF... and good luck at tushar, it's a great race!
Thank you sir!! I’ll get the next one when I don’t have the flu haha. Was funny leap frogging each other for a while out there
I saw you In the video in your iconic jet as well! Looking forward to your video also.
Simon!! Love your Vids too bro, I knew I saw you, your super funny and enjoy the content.
@@wetwoodchuck@seechadrun thanks y’all!
Love the vids man. The narrating isa vibe homie
Haha thank you!! I’ll keep the vibes coming 💪🏻💪🏻
keep on grinding. its never a bad call to dnf. no need to kill yourself or have such a terrible experience you don't want to go back. love your channel, btw!
Thank you for the kind words. Live to fight another day!
@@psillyrunner8650 i should have also mentioned, i was in SLC 1 year ago and made it down to Kyhv Peak completely based off watching your vlogs. it was my first mountain trail experience (and a great one!). prior to this, all my runs were on road, marathons, and eastern trails, which are an awesome green tunnel experience but not the same as those mountains. thanks for the vlog!
Sorry to hear about the dnf. I dnf'd the hundo twice. The heat was killer for me. Gotta be one of the most beautiful races in the U.S. I'll definitely be back to give it another go.
So beautiful out there. It’s on my list of “need to go back” now! And yeah that heat is tough for me too
I'm sorry you didn't get the result you want. Thank you for keeping it real. I appreciate seeing the downs and not just the ups. Loved seeing the baby, too!
Thank you for watching! I’m definitely not opposed to keeping it real. I had a hard day out there and I think it helps for people to see that even someone who’s finished a bunch of these still has many downs along the way. Now I’m just that much more driven to get it done next time 💪🏻
Keep it on !!!
Can i ask what is your height? And what size of pole do you use?
I’m 5’6” and I use the 125cm length poles. I prefer a longer pole so I would even go with the 130cm for my height.
The burping and the farting man… lol… don’t ever change 😂
Hey I run, too 😂😂😂 I’ll never change too much, you can count on that! Thank you for the support 🙏🏻
Man, I think sun hoodies are underrated in life after you had me get one. Love that thing.
They’re the best!!
