i was under headphones for this session: I zoned out, imagining that i was in the Leipzig Thomaskirche, thanks to Rashaan's magnificent playing and the spectacular organ.

Many organists had tranformed this choral prelude into a virtuosism piece with fast&furious tempo. I thought that is wrong because it is an introduction for the singers with tempo an intonation purpose. Well done. I'd inverted the part: first the prelude and after the choral.

I love the slower speed of the chorale prelude in this video. It helps better to demonstrate to the viewer of the video what is involved in playing this piece.

Beautiful playing on a fine organ! I remember fondly attending Compline at this church and watching the sun set through the windows.

I personally like such a sped-up version of it, as I first heard it played very fast. Indeed, is the piece played preliminary to the as-published BWV 610 (so, what is heard from 2:01 to 3:02) an arrangement, i.e. with voices subtracted?

Lovely playing, Matthew. I'm also a Whitfield organist. Today, in Napa, CA, I played two Healey Willan preludes: St. Columbia and Hyfrydol, both absolute favorites. The congregation went ape over the Hyfrydol.

Orgelbüchlein is one of his best, every piece a new idea.
