So nice to see there is still love for this little beast of a camera! I actually had no idea you can lock focus with the FP. Cool! I still prefer to have a flip out screen for vlogging and I use my other mirrorless cameras for this. But I might give it a shot with the FP as I do have the lovely Sigma 16-28 f2.8.

It's a very different experience than most other digital camera systems I've worked with. But once you get used to the menus and unique features, it'll be a breeze for you. The built-in one stop ND is probably my favorite feature. I'm still getting the hang of the OVF vs EVF. Still can't say I find it particularly useful... yet. I'll be posting a full review deep dive in the coming weeks so stay tuned to my channel and give me a sub if you want to catch that one!

The wait times are absurd. Clearly Fuji was not prepared for how popular this camera would be. If you ordered any time after the launch date, you might be waiting for at least 6 months - a year :(

Thanks for the question! I haven't explored Fusion on the iPad version too much yet, but I can confirm it does work in a fairly snappy manner! The magic keyboard is going to be essential though as Fusion uses a lot of keyboard shortcuts for best functionality. You can use touch/pencil but a lot of the icons and shortcuts in Fusion are not as visible as they are in the desktop version due to the smaller screen size.

@@DynamicPhil84 thanks heaps for the reply, ive actually asked this question on quite a number of other videos on the topic and received no response. I am very interested in purchasing an m4 ipad pro as a portable animation machine, and love being able to key frame and composite effects in Fusion.

@@mikesbruv I think it is a worthwhile investment if you want to be able to edit and animate on the go. The M4 chip is quite powerful and can handle a good amount that you can throw at it. But definitely make sure to get the magic keyboard as well. I've found that Resolve is difficult to use via touch/pen input alone. Also, it very annoyingly removes the additional pages that can only be added via keyboard shortcut when you close the app or if it crashes and has to be restarted or if you restart the iPad. Each time one of those things happens, you have to re-enable all of the additional pages as the Cut and Color page are the only two enabled by default. I'm hoping Blackmagic will provide a version 19 update soon as well, but probably won't happen until the desktop version is officially upgraded to 19 (right now v19 is still in beta).

@@DynamicPhil84 yeah great advice, as I said we have m1 ipad airs at work with a bluetooth keyboard, and they seem to handle fusion compositing and effects pretty well, even particles and 3d stuff, but yeah really really appreciate the feedback heaps, been looking for it for a while

Are you able to visit an Apple Store? If not then you may need to contact Apple technical support. It sounds like it could be a problem with the pencil pro or the ipad itself.

For note taking you would probably be better off with the new ipad air and the bigger size version if you have the budget

@@thomasorf7425 but will that 60hz in air feels lag while note taking please let me know as pro is 120 hz? Will I miss smooth experience while note taking in air ?

@ramachandravamsi-pp3qs for note taking you don't need fast refresh rates. Honestly if that's all you need to do on a tablet, the iPad in general is far more powerful and expensive then what you need. Just get a cheap Android tablet for note taking.

1000% disagree. Z Cams are amazing cameras, huge value, they produce gorgeous images and have many more features and functionality than the BM cameras. The only thing missing from Z Cam is internal raw. I'll be release a video in the future discussing the Z Cam F6.

Tilta is great, I also own the Nucleus Nano grip and focus wheel as well as the Nucleus 2 control dial. Amazing products. Enjoy it!!

@@DynamicPhil84 where to begin since im a run and gun type of shooter this camera has jello effect like really bad, the camera would sometimes switch off mid shoot, some items it wouldnt turn on, it bled vmount batteries, ergonomics of this was ass and the memory reading was inaccurate. nice image for what its worth but far too much of a headache for me i had all the fancy cables/card etc for teh same price a canon would have been better

@@MachinaExplorer man that sucks that you had such an experience. I haven't put the camera through its paces yet but I thankfully have box cameras that are much heavier duty and reliable in difficult situations. I don't shoot a lot of fast moving action so rolling shutter isn't as much of an issue for me thankfully.

@@DynamicPhil84 oh teh plastic feel of the body wasnt great with heavy lens felt as if the mount will snap off as its only held via screws. i do think most cameras should not have the buzz words like "cinema" in the name just like sony fx line theyre just glorified video cameras. and yes box cams for film is much preffered. for me to buy another BM cam they gottah do something fancy to catch my attention like how ARRI/RED do

Interesting that you would say that since I thought all cameras needed to shoot at higher ISO during low light scenes. Such a low ISO would have heavily underexposed the highlights in the situations I was using this camera.

@@DynamicPhil84 red works backwards of what you would think. Reds get consistent 16 stops of DR. At iso800, you get 8 stops highlight and 8 stops in the shadows. Say u move a stop from 800 to 1600... You're now getting 9 stops of highlights and 7 stops of shadows. In the inverse, shooting at iso400, you get 9 stops in the shadows and 7 stops in the highlights, and so on. It sounds crazy but when it's crazy sunny out, you want to shoot and protect your highlights by shooting at a higher iso... When it's lowlight you want to shoot lower isos, to reduce noise because you're now prioritizing your DR in the shadows. Trust me.. watch the red videos they post on RUclips, this is vastly different than normal mirror less camera isos, that add gain to the sensor when you go above their base/native iso. Red's sensor gain is static.. it does not change. ISO200 all the way to 12800 has the SAME gain. The only thing you're doing is choosing whether to prioritize your DR in the highlights or shadows by going above or below 800. 800 is not native iso (as red's don't have a native iso) but it's where it's balanced, 8 in the shadows, 8 in the highlights. Do your research and you'll see a ton of info red puts out about this.

I wish there was a good local camera shop in my area, but sadly that is not the case. Fuji definitely botched this launch, but I'm not mad at them about it like some people are, because they never could have predicted just how popular the camera would be. B&H and other sites should have stopped taking preorders after a certain number though as they really got A LOT of people's hopes up that they would be getting their hands on this camera in any sort of timely fashion.

I do love the tiny form factor. Using an external monitor is sometimes a bit difficult since the camera is so small, the monitor can overwhelm the form factor somewhat. I haven't used the fp with the atomos mainly because I am not a fan of prores raw. Much much prefer Braw. But if you have a good setup and you like working with prores raw, then you should be able to rely on the image being recorded. I'd recommend an hdmi cable holder to make sure the cable stays securely connected. The micro hdmi port on its own is not the most secure.

So cool how you are using this camera! It is quite versatile due to the insanely small size. I also completely agree with you regarding color science. Canon and Sony color science has always felt bland and just OK to me. They are not pushing the boundaries like Fuji or Sigma. Even when Canon released their newer C709 LUT, it was decent sure, got the job done in a pinch, but there was nothing unique or innovative about it.

Picked one up on FB marketplace, but didn't notice a busted pogo pin on the lens connector, so I had to send it for repairs... Can't try it for another couple of weeks, sadly.

@@VasilisOfficeHoursOh no that's too bad! I'm sure you will love it once you get it fixed. It's a quirky camera, but the image and the colors are just so lovely and I think they make up the problems that I have with it.

Audio is something I am still working to improve. But I will always choose the music that I feel works well for the content I am creating and that also pleases me to listen to. So if you feel the music is out of place, I'm not sure what else to tell you then to turn down the volume and turn on captions. This is music that I enjoy, so be it.

@@DynamicPhil84​ Put some compression on the voice, there's also a lot of mouth and lip noises, which can be made better with a different mic setup and some VST plugins. You overall want to have a consistent levels across the clip, if it goes from loud to quiet and back that can be very jarring, so a comfortable consistent level is preferrable. With music and voice combined you can employ auto-ducking to make the music quieter once you start speaking. What DAW software do you use for audio post-production?

@@VasilisOfficeHoursThanks for your feedback this is very helpful! I do all of my editing in Resolve and have mainly been using the built in voice isolation and dialogue leveling tools. I have not spent much time exploring the in-depth audio tools in Resolve, but I'm sure these features are there. If you wouldn't mind sharing an example of where in the video you feel that the audio levels change too dramatically, that will help. I had thought that my audio levels were quite consistent throughout, but I guess not. Also, I am using a Rode wireless mic setup but I do not have a lavalier attachment. Maybe I should invest in one of those?

They are ALL amazing cameras and will just depend on what your workflow and needs are for storytelling. Did you watch the whole video? I clearly feel that the C70 is an absolutely fantastic camera. Overtime though, I decided it just wasn't quite the right tool for me. Of the 3 you mentioned though, the Komodo clearly has the superior image and for me that's the most important thing at the end of the day.

I was considering the Komodo recently because color science is important to me too but having to plug/unplug the SDI cable only while powered on just isn’t practical for me. It seems that many have blown out their SDI because they forgot to unplug the cable first.

@@dylankitchener8350 I think it's much more important to have the camera's power source attached and having some juice left in it to ensure no blow out issues with the SDI cable. I've had the battery die on my monitor while the cable was plugged into the monitor and the Komodo, and it didn't burn out the SDI port. I've also turned off the Komodo while the cable was plugged in once or twice before removing it, and the port was fine. Again, I think the main thing is having a power source that has juice connected to the camera when you unplug the cable, not that the camera necessarily needs to be turned on when unplugging (though that is RED's recommended best practice).

Thanks! It depends on the camera. For the Red Komodo, I'd go with the Laowa Nanomorph lenses due to the 1.5x desqueeze x 16:9 sensor option which gives a nice final aspect ratio of 2.66:1.
