I saw the Arabic version of this in the 80s long before I saw this one. It's my all-time favorite Sesame Street song. He sounds so much more depressed in the Arabic version, though. 😂

I've had a hazy memory about this episode, particularly the smoke filled, dark sky dystopia that YuckDonald created, along with the grouches sadly singing about how they lost their pickles. Down to the "Ha Ha Ha HO NO!!!" from YuckDonald. This must've been earlier than I thought, since that's clearly Richard Hunt as said grouch farmer. Suffice to say, I'm glad someone found it and posted it here. Oh. And now pickle flavored candy is a thing. Sesame Street predicted it.

A little observation: not only did Ernie not stay the extra week like he planned, but considering how Bert says at the beginning that he's been gone for three days, it looks like he didn't even wait it out the first week.

I don't understand why they teach kids to play musical chairs. It encourages them to elbow each other out of the way to compete for a chair, rather than cooperation.

Almost thirty years later, Cookie Monster would find himself in the same predicament, only this time in the real world. It was Chris's debut episode where he's looking for a job as an assistant cookie salesman, and a familiar Fat Blue AM woman who appeared periodically during that time actually considers buying all the cookies, but the monster snapped and ate them all on the spot.

Aww, 🥰❤ one of my favorite parts from this episode and at the end. Grover and the kids doing a hugging game by hugging 🫂 and of course, David and Maria announcing the sponsors by cooperating. That is so nice. 💞

Looks like the airport scenes look like LaGuardia to me. The plane is a Boeing 737-200. Were the inside airplane scenes filmed in the plane or the show constructed a set to make it look like first class? I guess the actress playing the stewardess is a mystery or United supplied one.
