I've had a hazy memory about this episode, particularly the smoke filled, dark sky dystopia that YuckDonald created, along with the grouches sadly singing about how they lost their pickles. Down to the "Ha Ha Ha HO NO!!!" from YuckDonald. This must've been earlier than I thought, since that's clearly Richard Hunt as said grouch farmer. Suffice to say, I'm glad someone found it and posted it here. Oh. And now pickle flavored candy is a thing. Sesame Street predicted it.
I can imagine Oscar and Telly watching this on Sneak Peek Previews. Telly would've given it five WOWs because aside from the fact that it had a happy ending, it was also educational and it taught us moral lessons on the consequences of pollution. Oscar, on the other hand, would've given it five PHOOEYs because it had a happy ending, and grouches hate happy endings, even though he couldn't help being emotional after reading the sad part. Can't say I blame Telly for being so emotional about it, too, but hands down, it was a happy ending for everyone more or less, including the grouches.

14:05 We’ve Lost Our pickles Lyrics: Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho no pickles here no pickles there Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho we’ve lost our pickles we lost our pickles! (Repeat) Extended cut version (with extra dialogue): Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho no pickles here no pickles there Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho we’ve lost our pickles we lost our pickles! Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho (This is all My Fault) no pickles here no pickles there Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho (I shouldn’t have bought the machine in the 1st place) we’ve lost our pickles we lost our pickles!
You're right, Telly, Old YukDonald shouldn't have bought that machine! All it did was pollute the air around his farm and drive away his neighbors, plants, and animals! Don't blame Telly for being so emotional!
Reminds of the imagine spot for 3003 when everybody got emotional for not getting crayons and just juice. Then Telly react that would be awful. Then, he imagines crayons being voted.
I remembered when I was a little 10 years old in my parents' bedroom watching this from the television with the Egyptian lady episode
I hoped to see this episode again someday. It's a great one. Nice environmental message.

Oscar is one of my favorite Sesame Street Characters
Even grouchy stories have happy endings.
Rare to see tapes on shelves in Hooper’s store.
