Adele - Nymphai Dolls
Литва
Добавлен 9 фев 2015
Welcome to the world of doll artistry, where I share my creations, struggles behind the scenes, and inspiration while striving to make the most magnificent dolls.
My name is Adelė, and I am a doll artist and instructor based in Lithuania. My dolls are not simply decorations; each one has a unique story to tell. I bring an extraordinary tale to life in each little creature. Every costume, lock of hair, and tiny detail conveys how special and exclusive this art doll really is. I love the feeling that comes with completing a doll, wrapping it up with a ribbon and a handwritten note. It's like adding another page to my creative journey. I hope that you can see and feel the same passion, joy, and love for life in my dolls that I do.
If you want to get in touch with me for any collaboration, please send me an email: hello@nymphaidolls.com

Beautiful
Thank you!
She is amazing!! What about a cute worm?
She looks lovely 🥹 As for ideas, it could be cool to see a Galanthus / Snowdrop flower themed doll (not sure of its English name, but the white flower that is among the first to bloom in end of Winter / early Spring) as you have done dolls around Autumn (with the mushroom cutie) and that sunflower lovely reminding of Summer. Could be a nice little seasonal collection 🌝
Oh yes, we have them in Lithuania too! Very pretty and delicate flowers. Lovely idea, thank you 🥰
Soo cute ☺️
@@blue-uv4mh ❤️❤️
The sunflower girl is so pretty! I love sunflowers, they are m favourite <3 Maybe a lavender inspired doll? That colour is so pretty and I'd be interested to see how you make the flower part
Thank you!
I would love to see a wild rose doll!
Uuu that’s a great idea. I don’t know how I will choose what to make next 🙈
Aww, she is so sweet!! Absolutely love her ❤❤
@@sapphos_roommates Thank you so much! 🌻🌻
I love the SunFlower 🌻 doll!!! Not only is it my favorite flower, but it's so cute and beautiful 😍 💗 I like how you made her face with the petals look like a small shiny sun! ✨️ A fun I dea could be to make the flower versions of the fruits of your choosing with a sibling that is the fruit (ex: You already have a straberry girl~ So her little sister could be the flower since they are small but cute) and another sugestion could be intressting to see a Carnation, Passion flower (also know as Christ's Passion Flower/Pasiflora) and Peristeria elata flower (also know as the Holy Spirit Orchid) * also it would be cute to see your version of a potato doll*😊
@@AshleyASolis Such cute ideas! Thank you ❤️❤️

when you work in layers, how do you add fresh clay on top of the dried one? does it stick like that?
@@sirop591 I wet the surface with a little bit of water and it sticks perfectly. You should always use water when sculpting with air-dry clay. It helps with smoothing out the clay, the layers will be even and the clay won’t dry too quickly.
@Nymphaidolls thank you! i always used water, but i never waited for it to dry and then sculpt it and then add more clay on top after that! im gonna try it next time!!
@ This way it’s easier to control the clay itself. Sometimes when sculpting small details it’s so easy to squish the previously sculpted features, but when the clay is dry you can build it bit by bit.
@Nymphaidolls that was my problem, all the details would get squished at the end. i really appreciate these tips! thank you for all your work 🙏
Your work is so beautiful❤Your success is well deserved!
@@abundantlyinspired Thank you so much! ❤️
Thank u for this video, such a lifesaver 😭😭❤❤ Do u reccomend la doll, Premier or premix?? Sorry i dont rlly know much 😭😭
I mostly use Premix nowadays. It’s a mix between La Doll and Premier clays. I like the texture and how lightweight the clay is. Any of these choices are good. Premier is more suited for sculpting small details rather than the whole doll in my opinion. So get what’s the most available to you. ☺️
OMG thees little charakters are so cute, little art pieces. I love your videos and thank you for sharing your creativity ❤
@@sanbaersch9612 Thank you for watching 🥰
Que lindo señor rábano 😅🩷
I have a question! What if you want attach 2 pieces of air dry clay, that are already dry? Can you do it? Or no.
Yes, you can. I usually use PVA glue (white glue) to glue them together and then use more air-dry clay to cover the seam. If it’s just a small piece, or if you want to continue adding fresh clay onto the dry clay, simply wet the surface and add more clay.
You are sooo talented! May I ask how many years did u practice or make clay sculpture? I am planning to make miniature animals but damn! I will never be on your level!
Thank you! I started in 2013/2014, so about 10 years in this craft. But I got serious about it in 2017, that’s when my progress was the most visible. If you can practise sculpting at least a few times a week you’ll get good quickly. It’s all about practise and making it a routine. Talent is a very small part in this equation. Good luck! ✨
@@Nymphaidolls Wow! I didn't kow it took u that long! Thank you for the advice! 🥰
Oh my, your dolls are gorgeousss. I've been wanting to make my own BJD for some time now. This video's very insightful! ^^
@@GroggyFifi Thank you so much! Go for it, it’s a really rewarding hobby. 🥰
I really adore your dolls and I find your tutorials really helpful! These last days I started to get into more doll making since buying one is rather above my price range and I really wanted to start something new. I wanted to ask some questions if it’s okay! I understand if you don’t want to answer them!! Please don’t feel pressured to answer this but these two questions have been stuck in my head. How do you get your dolls skin look so smooth? I almost mistake it always for plastic/ porcelain I use many tools to soften it but it never looks pretty as yours😓 and how do you give your dolls hair? But thank you for reading this I find your dolls really inspiring!
To smooth out the surface of clay the most significant tips are sanding and using spray primer. I sand a lot! It’s very tedious and long process, so most people stop sanding too soon. I use a variety of sanding papers from medium to very fine grit. Finish sanding with very fine sanding paper that feels almost soft - usually around 1200-2000 grit. After sanding, air-dry clay is very dusty and has fine paper fibres that are visible, so I coat everything with water using a very soft flat watercolor brush. When my sculpture has dried completely I spray a few coats of primer. It can be grey or white. Mr. Surfacer is a good choice for primers, but you can find them in car primers’ department too. These primers fill in small imperfections, so the surface becomes even smoother. To attach hair I make wig caps and create tiny wigs for my porcelain dolls. I usually use clear multi task glue and glue them in small sections/wefts. There are loads of tutorials here on RUclips, I’ve learned from other creators as well. ☺️ Thank you for all the compliments! ❤️
@ ahh thank you so much !! This means a lot to me. Today I bought some materials to start sculpting the body! Mines probably won’t be prefect and good as yours but thanks to your tips it makes me even a little bit confident about it ☺️ before that I had used aluminum foil to create a base before using white glue to glue paper on it to make a softer base before using clay. But now I know that I should use foam and focus on the clay instead. I will probably make a mess but hopefully I can get professional like you and make my dolls pretty like how your dolls are! I am very grateful for your answering my questions this means a lot to me and saved me from tons of trouble!😭🩵 I wish you a happy new year I hope your business continues to grow🥳!!
What are the differences between la doll, la doll premix, and premier?
They are very similar. Premix is a mixture of La Doll (pink packaging) and Premier. It was created by a doll artist! I like the Premix (blue packaging) the best. It’s smooth, lightweight and doesn’t have a lot of paper pulp. Other variations are very similar, La Doll in pink packaging is a little bit rougher, not as white. Premier has the smoothest texture, but the clay itself is better for sculpting details and not the whole doll in my opinion, and it comes in a smaller package.
How can I get the master class?
It’s available on my website nymphaidolls.com You can read more about it there too ☺️
I love it
I'm so glad to hear that your business is growing! Your channel has helped me in my sculpting journey. Even though I don't make dolls, your craftsmanship and business sense are always inspiring.
@@TheMaryWriter Thank you! ❤️ I love filming videos just for this reason - to show my techniques, help others and inspire people to create something. Really means a lot to know it is actually helpful!
I love your dolls, absolutely adorable. I apply white acrylic paint after sanding my dolls, but somehow it always turns out streaky, and never as pretty as yours. What am i doing wrong?? 😭 Haha anyway, i hope you'll have a great holiday time! Greetings from freezing cold germany 🇩🇪❤️
Thank you so much! A soft flat watercolor brush helps to apply the paint evenly. I do two thin coats. If your paint is very thick, thin it out with a little bit water. It takes practice, but good supplies also help a lot. After painting, spray everything with matt varnish, it evens out the texture even more. ☺️
@Nymphaidolls thanks for the tips! ❤️ I'll try them as soon as possible.
Which Clay did you use?
@@mionleblanc4839 La Doll Premix ☺️
@Nymphaidolls do you have other offers/ideas? Because i can only buy it from japan or another far away countries ☹️
@ Where are you located? Check Etsy, some sellers have quite good deals on clay there. I use La Doll, La Doll Premix or Premier. Stone clays work the best for sculpting detailed sculptures on a small scale because they don’t have as much paper pulp as other air-dry clays.
@@Nymphaidolls yeah on etsy there are some offers. Can you explain me the difference between blue/red and remix and premire? Its in japanese 🙈
@ Premix is a mixture of La Doll (pink packaging) and Premier. It was created by a doll artist so that’s saying something! 😀 I like the Premix (blue packaging) the best.
I am currently making my own
I didn't know it's possible to make a bjd by air dry clay
Hello, ur work is beautiful. I'm very interested in making porcelain dolls. But I have no experience whatsoever (never even touched one😭). I rly want to tho, What kind of paint and clay do u suggest we use?
@Soft.tinglesasmr Thank you so much! At first you will need to create a prototype, since the porcelain is liquid it requires plaster molds for casting. So to make molds, you need a prototype. I sculpt my prototypes from air-dry clay. I use La Doll or La Doll Premix. Both of these are great. All the materials are usually listed under my videos, so check that out too. ☺️
@Nymphaidolls Ohh, okay, thank you so much. I'll be keeping up w the rest of ur content too!

hi, i know you reccomended getting specific clay for the tutorial, but is das clay good for it :') it's so hard getting the clay you reccomended
I don’t really like DAS clay because it’s quite heavy and prone to cracking. It’s geared more towards kids’ crafts, so it’s hard to sculpt very delicate details with it. Also, it has a strong smell. Even though it’s possible to sculp a doll with DAS clay and some people have good results with it, I think choosing this clay is not setting yourself for success. Maybe you have Jovi clay around you? It’s a little bit better than DAS in my opinion.
how do you stop the clay from cracking?
1. Choose High-Quality Clay Some clays are more prone to cracking than others. Use good stone clays like La Doll, La Doll Premix, or Premier, as they perform better compared to clays intended for kids' crafts. 2. Sculpt in Layers Air-dry clay tends to crack when the outer layer dries faster than the inner layers. As the clay dries, it shrinks slightly, and uneven drying can lead to cracks. To avoid this, sculpt in thin layers and allow each layer to dry at least partially before adding the next. This ensures even drying and minimizes cracking. 3. Use Water While Sculpting Incorporating water while sculpting helps the clay stick together and form a cohesive structure. Without enough moisture, air pockets can form, which increases the risk of cracking. 4. Ensure Even Drying If the outer layer is drying too quickly due to environmental factors, cover the sculpture with a plastic bag. This slows the drying process and allows the entire piece to dry evenly.
Sharing trade secrets 😅😅😅
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤ i want to nnow more !! I sculpt in air dry clay !!!
Is it possible for a doll to be pose-able without perfect ball joints?
@@nightynightshade Yes, but it won’t have very good poseability, the joints might snap back or won’t bend as much as you want. It’s very common in beginner’s dolls though ☺️

Hi, I loved the video! But the one part I couldn’t figure out was how you made the joints hollow? Did you drill a hole after you sculpted the knee?
@@Eju-qq2mw Yes, just drill the hole for the elastic to go through.
