Everytime I ask people for advice or mention something I've been through they say "I cried" or "I would have cried" 😂

Where I work it's a sin to ask questions, they want shadowing bad habits and ass kissing. I'm like my brain is upset, will somebody help? Nope.

Children just invoke emotion. I know people in after school programs that say the same thing and then they adjust and remain for years. Today a student cried and I wanted to die cause it was kind of self inflicted but I understood and she's like 6 years old already dealing with drama 😭

I feel that is a big market where they have so many desperate parents looking for solutions that most of these clinics don't even care about the workers that should be trained at least for a week before start working

this definitely helped.. After my first day of being 25% hands on with a client i definitely had soo many doubts about this job and how today went.. I definitely had to cry it out later on. It doesnt help when you go in with no experience and into an environment thats completely new to you so everyone seems to look at you like that girl doesnt know what shes doing 😭

I finished my BA in psychology in 2022, since I have had a spinal fusion and removal of the big toe joint, yay 40s lol I am jumping back into life and appreciate your video. I wanted to do psych nursing, but the doctors told me absolutely not after the spinal fusion. So, returning to my degree and choosing RBT to start. Gain some hands on before moving up to a masters. I had a late start in life, but am so ready!

I resign the aba or behavior health job because it’s super stressful and emotionally training. I’ll get intense anxiety, fatigue and nausea going to session a lot where I’m worried if session will go bad or not. As someone on the autism spectrum who has social anxiety, the job was intense where it was required to be fully engaged and active with clients however I was very mute and quiet working with a client during session since I was socially anxious and it’s worst when the parents stare at me while doing session which triggers my social anxiety. I also got remove from two cases where the director told me that parents were complaining about me that I’m low engaged with the client so I felt like I was in danger and stress even more so this lead me to leave the company. I tried talking to the supervisor about my anxiety and everything. They ask me what they can do to help which the worst. They ask me what they can do to help which the worst part is I don’t know what I want and how they can help me. I felt like I was in a large trap and this lead me to leave the company because I felt unappreciated and scared as hell working.

can any bachelor works for the bcaba like a business bachelors

I have 7 months in home ABA experience. I'm not an RBT. RBT is a Certified Technician who has to take a test and has to renew their license annually. Right now I am considered a BI, or BT. When I get a new case the BCBA or the BCaBA is present on the first session either in person, or by zoom call. I want to get my feet wet and work longer, before I take my RBT license test. I have worked with problem children they seem to behave better when their parent is around. Beware if you work with the school districts, because the kids behave differently without the parent to act as a buffer. I have; had my hair pulled, been kicked, bitten and scratched. In-home never.

I'm going into an interview tomorrow for the Behavioral Technician position. SUPER nervous right now. But this video makes it super comforting knowing that the first couple of days will be difficult.

EVERYTHING y’all said I’ve felt. I have a psych degree but no experience whatsoever with ABA. I just finished my first week of training as an RBT (mostly PowerPoints & 2 days of shadowing) and I am so so so scared, nervous, overwhelmed- all of it. My coworkers are super helpful though so that’s always nice. I’m hoping I can return to this comment in the future and say I’m doing better cause right now, I am freaking out. I keep wondering if I made the right decision but only time will tell

I start on Friday and I’m nervous but I’ve also been a teacher for children on and off the spectrum and with extreme behaviors for six plus years so I feel a little more equipped than the average person but I’m still nervous

My BCABA has a saying "fail fast!" Then you learn and move on, I does sound like you weren't adequately prepared for what you were about to experience by those who were supposed to train and support you. And you are correct circle time is for real 😂❤❤

Tomorrow is my first interview I'm really interested in the position. My sister has a autism child and my good friend has a autism child too. I see the struggles they go through everyday with their children. I know if I get the position they would be so happy for me. I really liked your video and I see you guys struggled a lot too but kept going and I'm so happy you did. Me being in healthcare for over 35 years taking care of all different people and children it's my passion I love it I really think I will love ❤️ this to but I know it takes a lot of learning I'm very determined and such a caring person I hope everything works out for me and everyone else who is considering this path again thanks for the video and I'm so glad you guys kept going after all the struggles and hurdles you went through look you came out good on the other side :>)

This video helped me a lot as I had my first day yesterday and was feeling like a failure and wondering if I’d actually be okay in this field. I feel so much better about moving this super long 2nd session.

Hi, this is animal training for humans and is abuse, I survived this abuse and was traumatised becuase of it. It should be banned! Psychology is in the cognitive theory era not the behavioural era, get with the times.

So to become a bcba a psychology (bs) degree would be fine?

2 years of RBT. 1 year of group home work. 1 year of DTA and several years of in home respite and HAB. If you’re looking for a field involved with autism. You won’t find one with more support and better pay than the RBT to BCBA route. BCBA programs are typically a year and a half to two years and are entirely online for a lot of them!! RBT is my favorite job in the field by a lot so far and the only one that shows a recognizable different
