Thank you for the clear tutorial. If you don't mind my question: Shouldn't there be some margin in the A0 paper? Because I can that some parts of the pattern touch the paper edge. I've never printed A0 so not sure if the printer can handle that.

Hi Vanesa thank you for creating this. My questions are as follows: If you need to grade and lengthen, would you do these steps separately as you have shown in your tutorials, or can you do this all together? Also are their any changes you would update as the program has been updated since your original work?

I've been struggling all day trying to figure out how to use Inkscape, and yours are the first series of videos I've run across that shows how to do exactly what I want to do in a way that I can understand. (Probably me, but I really need someone to spell things out like I'm a 5 year old.) THANK YOU!

The best. I have been struggling with not being able to change the lines. So do I select box by box on the pattern? What makes the box? I am not using PDF. I use projector AO patterns.

This tutorial was EXCELLENT!! I'm relatively new to projector sewing and i LOVE it.. sadly not all of the patterns I have are available as a projector format :( Do you project right from inkscape? Did you have to calibrate a new zoom percentage (vs projecting from adobe?).. i've got some projects coming up that i'd love to use my projector for!

So you can't change it when you actually drawing you have to do it after which really is a pain all the softwares including paint on windows which is the most simple you can change it when you drawing but Inkscape decide it that that was not necessary your video is great thanks

This was very helpful! I ordered a McCall's digital pattern and didn't realize that it didn't come in AO format. I did have some trouble however, I'm working on a MacBook air, and I think the version of Inkscape that I have isn't quite the same as yours. I wasn't able to find a "lock nodes" button and wasn't sure if I was lining it all up. Then, of course, I did something, and lost my pattern completely! Even though I was saving it through out. Back to the drawing board, right?

Thank you so much for the videos, this has made things so much easier. I figured out that if you select all the pages, then go to Object and Group, you will be able to select the entire size. Saves a little more time. Hope this helps.

thank you so much for this video. thanks to doing this I realised the patter I bought has some misplaced lines. thanks again edit: I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't resize the proyect, when I try to select all the pages (as you did in the video) instead of selecting the border of the pages as a whole it just selects random pages of the pattern.

Thanks heaps for the video! Very helpful and clear! Little orange arrows allow for rotating objects by 90°, easier then trying to line up the edge/manually rotating.

When you are attempting to sew over the thick parts, try using the little black knob on your pressure foot. just push it in while you sew over the bumps. it is a built-in hump jumper.

I've watched this video numerous times and understand what you are doing. Thank you. Your presentation is excellent. I have spent an embarrassing number of hours trying to length the Love Notions Laundry Day Tee Dress by a few inches following these instructions. I am totally unable to accomplish the task. I'm not super tech-y so that doesn't help, I'm sure. Do you think running a pattern through PDF Stitcher affects trying to lengthen it in Inkscape? I do the part where I create a new layer and then work on the front and back of the dress in the second layer. When I select the pattern piece using Command A I see the dotted lines for the selection. But as soon as I click on the Node Edit Tool and then double click on the intersection where I want to place a node, the selection box around the pattern piece disappears. Does that suggest something that I'm doing that is causing me problems? I've googled various things to try and figure it out but to no avail. I am using Inkscape 1.1 Alpha, but only because I had the same problem in the prior version and thought maybe moving up would help. If something jumps out at you that I'm missing, I'd love to hear it. Thanks again for the time you put into your tutorials. They are wonderful.

Hi, your video is very helpful. I just have a question. A0 is 4x4 A4. So this is bigger than A0? I want to print my pattern on A0 paper. How can I do that?

Fantastic wee hack. I was worried about this style of pocket being easy to pick-pocket if I had my phone or purse in it now I don't need to worry! Will keep this in mind for all my pockets of this style.

Hi Vanessa! Great video, thanks! A quicker tip for importing the pdf is to just drag your pdf from your explorer file (windows) to your inkscape canvas. This brings up the pdf import window in one step rather than the 2 or 3.

I missed something along the way. Which front version is this? I have a friend who has requested a sports bra.

I've never sewn a zipper into a knit fabric. Do I just use a regular straight stitch or do I use a lightening/triple stitch for the zipper part? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Great video.

When I saved as pdf and opened it just had the box. No pattern pieces I had tiled together. What may make that happen?

Thanks for posting this, so glad for open source software! I have a couple of 40-50 pg patterns that I want to send to have printed but didn't come with copyshop versions. Do you have any advice for re-organizing pattern pieces to fit to exactly A0 size to print on a plotter? Or how to create a pdf that has multiple A0 pages? Also, if you're interested Marta Gvozdinskaya has a video for creating a script that a allows you to import all pages simultaneously. Not sure if it works with all operating systems, but it was pretty slick in Ubuntu.

My patter cut off all the sides when I saved as a PDF. What is going on?

How did you get the A0 pattern from Mood? I can only download the US paper version.
