Got the call correct even tho it took a very long time to come to a ruling, #94 was eligible by # and position. If there was a foul for either illegal touching or IDP, that flag should have came from the U or one of the wing officials. R should have never had a flag out in the first place. Great crew communication on getting everybody in and informing every official on what happened and most importantly GETTING IT RIGHT

These officials will be working in the NFL soon.

First, the HL screwed up in starting a series not on a yard line. Then, he didn't know the line to gain when the play was made. You can't possibly get a perfect spot on a play such as this, so it's either a first down or its not. The R then compounded the problem by being a dork.

As others have said, this meets the definition of a forward pass. Call it incomplete and move on.

As the LOS official, you can do so much to make sure this is or is not a 1st down if you know where the line to gain is. This looks really bad.

I bet the team got the massage after this and thus the ejection worked. I coached for 45 years and my players would never have taken a chance of getting a 25 harder for equipment violation. Also, they knew to knock down a pass on 4th down as our secondary coach reminded them on every 4th down.

I think that the best thing to do in this situation is to rub yourself over your pants.

For those who don't understand. There are legal ramifications if know rule violations especially related to equipment that can come into play for officials, the Assigners, the state rules association etc.

The guard does move prior to the snap. Could have been a FTS. If they went with ILS, then the play should have continued. Even those of us who use FTS of the second kind, this should have been a live ball foul. Very unusual for a U to call an ILS.

I would prefer that the LOS put the ball down after the play, report the penalty, then have the B bring the ball. Would look more crisp.

No holding penalties (superior feet and kept driving). Great acting job by the defensive player and fooled the official. But definitely a BSB.

If it wasn't good, it would have hit the bar and bounced. It did not do this. This was a good kick. They got robbed.

My 1st year we had those White Knickers. Try having CLEAN PANTS at a time when you only have 1 pair and your organization works HS, MS Public, MS Catholic, and 4 different Youth Leagues. Luckily back then I was too inexperienced to get HS games and was mainly doing Peewee and Might Mites on Saturday and 3rd/4th Grade Catholic on Sundays. So I just held all Laundry until Saturday after my games. They at least TOLD US that they were switching to the Black Pant w White Stripe for the Next Season so that we didn't go buy Multiple Pairs of the White Knickers.

Solid holding call. Since this looks like a 5 man mechanic, the wing or the umpire should have caught the BSB

Whole lotta confirmation bias going on in these comments. People don't like refs and think they're incompetent, so their confirmation bias leads them to conclude the officials made a bad call. What I see in that second camera angle indicates to me that it was definitely a miss. Ball hit the crossbar hard and went down hard to the ground. That's not the trajectory the ball would take if it dribbled over the crossbar.
