Alaska’s best sweet spots are Finnair and Condor. They have decent amount of space in Business. I’m planning on booking JFK to HEL then onto HKG both in Business for 85k. I’m also in ATL, I’ll try to tack on a leg to NYC.

KLM / AF needs a calendar of the redemption rates.. once you start choosing dates, lot of the fares I see are 100k-200k one way for business class. Not seeing a single one even close to 50K.. How do you efficiently find these deals if you're open on travel dates?

If you can find some good way to use Bilt points to get from the US to Scandinavia that would be awesome! We want to get back to Norway and Sweden but prices are sometimes dicey.

Are premium airline united cards better than Bilt for first class upgrades?

I’d add that speculative transfers are best if one has travel plans for those points/miles in the near future. You never know when program devaulations will occur and the longer you bank them, the greater your risk of reduced value. Redeem those miles and have a great time ASAP!

Hey Richard, I hope you can get to more point redemption questions. Currently planning a study abroad for next semester - shopping around a booking from central TX to Seoul for 2 ppl - mid to late Feb '24. Redeeming points in economy is doable and seems like the most value - BUT in truth a premium econ seat at a minimum would be SO much nicer for the haul. Would it be better to redeem points for 2 seats in economy then later purchase or buy up miles (not my favorite) for an upgrade ? OR just spring for the premium economy at the time of booking ? Would need to compare maybe having to buy more points or spend more to get more points ( kind of negates the redemption though) , versus just buying the ticket cash. If so , maybe then use the points to upgrade. Thoughts ? Are there certain airlines that are more friendly in the area of upgrading with points ?
