Thanks for this. I just found a broken V7 at a thrift shop and the issue was a seized motor. Taking it out and turning the spindle by hand freed it up. It didn’t even have a speck of dust inside, unlike my brother’s V8 that I took apart alongside it. I assume the previous owners had tried replacing the motor/housing assembly and it was seized from the factory so they gave up and donated it to the thrift store. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve seen that with an electric motor.

So you cannot disconnect directly from motor but instead have to swap the cables over to the new wheel assembly?

wish you would of told me i need a long skin T6 to fit into the hole to take the left band off

T5 screwdriver is too big you'll end up scratching the nail so use a T2 if T5 is not worth the risk

Every time I assemble it back the red part just comes out of its own again, turns out 2 clips are broken. Applied super glue hope that works.

GOOD VIEDO VERY PRCISE, OUR RING WAS BROKEN AND EVEN AFTER DOING WHAT YOU SHOWED IT WOULD JUST FALL OUT WHEN TRYING TO REINSTALL THE CANISTER ON THE VACUUM, WE FOUND THE RING ON AMAZON IT WAS 15 DOLLARS THE WHOLE NEW UPGRADED CANISTER WAS 35 DOLLARS, WE BOUGHT THE NEW AND SUPPOSEDLY UPGRADE!

The red seal came undone when I cleaned the bin, I struggled to get it back in thanks to your video with very clear instructions I found the problem the locking tabs where broken I had to replace the red seal assembly thank you for posting. 👍👍

Unless I am missing something, there is no way it is that easy, because no matter how I twisted it (following the video), the thing just wouldn't budge. I had to saw it off. By the way, you didn't make it parallel to the horizontal, but at an angle😊

Great video but this is a very fiddly job! Got there in the end, going carefully, but took over three hours. Getting the buttons off was difficult because the glue doesn’t really soften much even with heat and you are likely to damage the finish round the edges. Refitting them is also difficult because you have to dig out enough of the glue to get them to seat properly. When you see what’s inside they seem insanely expensive at about £280. I’d try one of the cheap lookalikes at about a quarter the price. Before reassembling you should remove all dust, hair etc. and clean the metal filter underneath the filter cover. I found a water flosser worked very well for this.

Thank you! It helped a lot. Yet my issue was one step further. The motor was stuck. So, I had to remove it from the center barrel, clean the 3 gears, reapply grease, and put it all back together. I don't think I would have done it without your directions ;-)

I wish i knew simple test..redlight with battery in place.. 3 blue lights with battery removed means motor no good battery good would have saved me cost of new battery

Thank you! That worked. Dropped my v7 and the lid fell off. Couldn’t work it out and this is the first video I tried to fix it.

For people who doesn't have large enough hand to press on the wall, use your feet or something else press against the top of the tube when placed shown in the video make it oval and try to take it out. Don't press too hard or you will need to replace the whole thing.
